Nice little condo nestled in woods
We joined up with our family for a quick holiday weekend in the cool NC mountain air. We found the living area, kitchen and all rooms clean and suited our needs well. Our only disappointment upon arrival was that the 4digit code to lock box to get the key to enter did not work and another car was parked in one of our 2 spots the entire stay. Thankfully we texted Vacasa to get another lock box code and they were quick to respond and called to ensure we were able to gain access and all okay.

This was the perfect location for a fall break getaway. Even with a little mixup with our checkin date they quickly made it right. Well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds/furniture. Overall, a great unit if you’re looking to stay in Sugar Mountain.

Great condo
Condo is in a great location. Dog walking a breeze with hiking trails across the street. Clean and comfortable. Went in September and the weather was perfect. Might get hot in summer as it has no AC. Does have plenty of fans available, however. Would be an amazing property to rent for skiing.

Very serviceable condo with lots of beds
The condo was convenient to the slopes (not an easy walk in ski boots, but easy in regular shoes; took about 5 minutes through the woods and across a bridge), had lots of room, and had updated decor. I appreciated the closet outside the front door for ski gear. The kids appreciated having Disney+. The dogs appreciated having a park just across the street from the condo complex entrance. Not spotless, but serviceably clean (I felt no need to clean further on arrival). I would stay here again.

It's a condo with neighbors downstairs, so do not expect more
Tight space for a family, no big space for 6 or more peoe to spend together, except the king bed in one bedroom other beds are not comfortable for adults and big kids. Since it's a condo you got to be very cautious about neighbors downstairs, maybe not worth the price we paid.

Wonderful getaway
This home was comfortable and welcoming. The kitchen was well appointed with everything one would need for a time away from home. The living room opened into the dining area, providing ample comfortable space for our family. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of sleeping room for our family. The view from the expansive picture window in the dining area was spectacular. The outside deck provided extra space for relaxing. The home was conveniently located to area attractions and eateries. We will definitely make this home a future destination.

Fall 2021
Enjoyed our time in this condo. It was very comfortable, but the stairs can be a lot if you're older. The blankets for the upstairs King room need to be replaced as there were a few holes and pulls in the blankets. All in all, a nice condo for your getaway.

Nice condo, worked for weekend away
Nice condo for a short stay, needs some work for a long stay. Be prepared for steep stairs, not for elderly people or dogs.

Great location and perfect for family getaway. I would recommend making sure guests understand that there isn’t air conditioning and for letting pet owners know there isn’t a great place to walk animals.

Wonderful getaway
The home provided a much needed getaway for the weekend. It provided perfectly relaxing family time both inside and out on the deck. It was clean and bright; welcoming from the minute we arrived. We look forward to our next stay.

Beautiful Modern Cabin
I absolutely love this cabin. Beautiful, modern home with a look out window in the dining room that over looks the mountain and brightens up the whole room. Surrounded by very respectful neighbors and perfect for families and pets. The owners were supper helpful with anything and happy to answer any questions about the area and activities. I am so excited for my next stay at the hemlock!

A Delightful Hideaway
A quaint location tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina it provided us with perfect spot to experience the great outdoors. Its ideal location on Sugar Mountain and close proximity to Grandfather Mountain State Park is a must for anyone wishing to experience the beauty of North Carolina. The home was clean and met all of our needs during the stay. Could not recommend more!

Old and unkept
Several lamps were broken and inoperable. Leather couch had tears so we had to put blanket on it to sit on it. Neighbors below were renovating and had old toilet and other appliances on their deck visible from our back windows. One of the closets had no doors and there was a constant smell of cigarette smoke in this condo which we think was coming from the neighbors below. Accommodations were not worth what we had to pay for sure.

Dirty, Old, and Smelly
This property needs serious attention. Repairs are need to fix broken lamps, install a dryer vent, fix the toilets, hang closet doors, and increase the capacity of the hot water heater. A cleaning service needs to remove the debris from the floor, wipe down the walls, sweep out the cobwebs, and install an adequate ventilation system. Chain smoking downstairs and constant construction noise made the stay very unpleasant. The loft stairs are not safe to climb and the view from the living room window is pile of construction debris (broken toilet, rolls of old carpet) and rotting trash. Stay somewhere else.

Beyond Disappointed
We were very excited for our trip to NC with our 2 daughters and our close friends who also have 2 young daughters. Immediately upon arrival we noticed the stairway was covered in ice and snow. After walking down the stairs we were met with an awkward shared entrance that smelled terrible with trash and construction debris. We finally opened the door to the unit and was met with a terrible musty odor. The condo was old. The kitchen floor had old pasta on the ground and crumbs on the counter tops. The firealarms didn't have batteries and the tv remote didn't work. We then looked out the beautiful window to see a busted toilet on the balcony below along with more trash. The blankets on the beds were stained. The cherry on top was after spending $250 on groceries we learned the next day the refridgerator was broken and all of our food was completely ruined. I called the property management company on day 1 5 times with no help and then again multiple times on day 2. We were only there for 2 nights and at 4pm on Sunday evening ( Day 2) they sent a maintenance worker over to try and fix the fridge with no luck. The only positive of this unit was the location but other than that this property was not worth the amount of money we spent on 2 nights. The absolute worst experience I've ever had with VRBO.

Sugar Mountain Retreat
The home was perfectly located in close proximity to skiing, tubing and hiking. Very comfortable accommodation, the owners have created a very cozy, welcoming “home away from home” feel. The well appointed kitchen was a definite plus. The living room added to the warm homey feel of the cabin.
