Family/Friends gathering in the mountains
Our stay at the Invincible Lodge was magical to say the least. The lodge was easily accessible, even in March after a snow storm which we were grateful for. The lodge was clean, spacious, and the decorations were so adorable too. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out when we needed to. Beds were comfy. We enjoyed playing outside in the snow too! We definitely plan on visiting again!

Pre-wedding get together
We had planned a mini get together with some friends and family to celebrate the bride and groom to be, and this cabin was the perfect spot! The babbling brook just outside was relaxing, the large windows in the great room provided a beautiful scene for our mini-games, and there was enough room for everyone to hang out, but also wander off and get their alone time when needed. We would highly recommend this location!

Family Time
This was a great vacation for the whole family. We went hiking, fishing, made s’mores in the fire pit. Had a murder mystery and even had snow. My children and grandchildren had the best time playing in the snow. The house was beautiful, we will definitely be back next year.

Family Wedding in Idaho Springs
The pictures for this home are great but the home, it’s beautiful, private setting and the spaciousness of all the rooms on all floors was incredible! We had a wonderful week! Our son’s wedding was on Friday at nearby Blackstone Rivers Ranch. So convenient! All week we were able to access nearby adventures to keep everyone entertained. The house was so awesome that we are talking about having another family get together there some time in the future! Our son lives outside of Denver so we hope we can make this happen. David and family, we loved the lodge, we loved its’ legacy and we loved all the wonderful books and spiritual messaging you had dotted around your warm welcoming home! Thank you for sharing it with us at such a special time in our lives!

A True Haven
Wonderful layout in a beautiful location. Kitchen was bigger in person with ample fridge space, plenty of room for multiple people to prep meals. The lodge was perfect for our group of 19. Lovely deck, hammocks, creek, fire pit, bird feeders. Kids loved the 9 person bunk room, the theater, and the loft. Very thoughtfully designed house. We didn't use the hot tub as we had plenty of other things to keep us busy. Would stay here again.

Amazing Mountain Home
Our family's stay at The Invincible Lodge will be one of our best memories!! The slyded location is exactly what we wanted yet being close to a town for necessities or eating out. Also so many activities are close by! Our family enjoyed hiking, gondola ride, alpine slide, shopping, eating out and mountain biking at Winter Park. The quaint town of Georgetown and the Train ride. White water rafting, shopping and BeauJo's pizza in Idaho Springs! One day we went to Mt Evans but this was a more scary drive than some anticipated. Not for the faint at heart for sure. Hiking in the area is outstanding!! Just hiking up Rainbow Road was great!! Now for the house....so many areas for people to congregate! The amazing deck with many seating areas, the loft for games and cards, the open living room/kitchen area where we probably at most of the time. If you want seclusion, a hammock across the river. Our grandchildren brought some so had plenty. Had campfires and smores a couple of nights. The beds are comfortable and bathrooms well furnished. The bunkbed room mattresses weren't the best for our older grandchildren. We didn't have any little ones. Also the grill burners aren' t working the best but we adjusted. Either needs new burners or new grill. The kitchen was very well equipped for any kind of meal planning. Really appreciated the big electric grills!!

Very spacious and well stocked with necessities. The kids loved the bunk room. The couches are a bit worn but we didn’t do much sitting around anyway. The area is very calm and quiet with the house being nicely tucked away.

Beautiful!
I can't imagine a more perfect place for a group to spend time in the mountains. The property is nestled in a beautiful forest that is far more beautiful than the pictures can even capture. The lodge is spacious and comfortable with spacious gathering areas as well as plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view out a window quietly.

Family Reunion in the Mountains
The Invincible Lodge is one of the best rentals we have had over the years. The building itself was in near perfect condition as were all the furnishings. The place was well stocked with supplies (toiletries, dishes, cooking utensils, etc). A fast-flowing creek was just 50 feet from the rear of the house, which was home to a few small and hard to catch trout.. Our family (19 members) had plenty of room to stretch out and there were plenty of positive comments about the fun places to visit and hiking opportunitiers just short drives away. We also appreciated the history of the place (three old silver mines right on the property - a couple of us enjoyed a little historic metal detecting there). The only shortcoming was the high elevation resulting in difficult breathing for the older family members.

Wenger Family Review
The property is in a beautiful location. Directions to property are easy to follow. Everything we needed as far as cooking was provided. If you use paper towels bring your own. Unfortunately and this is not the owners fault the Safeway grocery store was not well stocked when we visited for some groceries on Sunday evening. Lots of hiking and other activities close to this area. If you have the chance take the vehicle drive to the top of Mt. Evans. Our family would definitely return!! Thank you so much for making your beautiful home available to us!

About the host

Hosted by David Steitz

Host profile image
We are the Steitz Family. We purchased this beautiful land in 1996. We enjoyed it for camping and hiking for many years. Our parents had a dream to build a "cabin" that the whole family could use together. Our dad began work on the bridge in October, 2003. He suddenly and unexpectedly passed away in February, 2004 of a heart attack. We decided to build "The Invincible Lodge" in his memory, and it was completed in May, 2007. The Invincible Lodge has already been a blessing to many people, Dad would be proud!

Why they chose this property

The beauty of this setting speaks for itself. The seclusion, the forest, the mountains create a spirit of quiet and relaxation. The soothing sound of rushing water eases away any tension in your body, mind and soul. It is truly a spiritually refreshing place, as Dad always said.

What makes this property unique

The Lodge is big enough to allow the whole family. We enjoy games, relaxing, building a fire, staring out the picture window at the mountains. It is truly a getaway. In the winter, we sled, snowmobile, snowshoe, or just stay warm by the fire. In the summer we hike, fish, mountain bike, run the trails, enjoy the wildflowers, have picnics by the creek!
