Some other features include the stone hearth fireplace, heated tile floors, wrap around deck, and private trails (some are seasonal). You will hear the brook from the deck. At night, star gazing is a must. Well-mannered dogs are permitted for an additional fee.

Farm to Table dining or delivery is available at this home for an additional fee paid directly to the local chef.

The Area:

Quechee, Vermont is known best for it’s fine dining, local shops, beautiful forest canopy trails, the famous Quechee Gorge, swimming spots, and Ski Quechee. Quechee is not far from well known ski locations such as Suicide Six, Whaleback Mountain, and Storrs Hill Ski Area, which has night skiing. Killington is a 40-minute drive.

Other things to note:

There is a fifth bedroom/bunk room that is private.

This home has a well. You can drink directly from the faucet (spring water quality).

This home has a older septic system. Nothing but minimal toilet paper should be flushed.

Please use the dishwasher over hand washing when possible.

Trails: the upper trail off the driveway is best for late fall and winter and leads you to the wetlands and to the forest (additional details are provided in the home). The new path near the split rail fence leads you down to the brook and streams to the forest. The path leading down is very steep. Please use caution.

Wildlife:

There are black bears, moose, and coyotes in the area. Please use caution and common sense when encountering wildlife, remembering wild animals are more likely to fear you. Refer to the state of Vermont for further guidance.

Fabulous Spot

Super clean, private spot with the sound of the brook as background music. Chef's kitchen that we took advantage of (check out the butcher shop in Woodstock). The host was great with communication and a bit of flexibility. We hiked, explored breweries and distilleries, restaurants and Woodstock. A great stay.

Winter getaway with friends

The property was very nice. It met all of our needs. We decided to try something new this time. Fathers and teen sons. We enjoyed traversing the mountain that's part of the property. We had a great time while we were in the home. Close proximity to our ice fishing venture! Good memories!

Lovely Retreat

This home was a wonderful retreat for our family stay. Photos were accurate and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything you might need to enjoy some meals in. Host was quick to answer any questions we posed most of which we had because we don’t believe in “snooping” into others closets. Fireplace was so nice on the cool nights. Star gazing on the back deck…. Incredible! Bird watching and the owl hooting , perfect. My only comment would be that the beds are extremely firm which were tough on our older bones as they had no type of topper that would make them more comfortable. Nice little grocery store (Jake’s Market) close by that had everything we needed for some homemade meals. Great location to explore the area with easy access to highways and the local roads made for beautiful drives. We enjoyed some local shopping and restaurants which were all farm-to-table. We wished we had more time to sample others. I would skip the Skinny Pancake next to Jake’s Market! Enough said on that one! We all agreed we would enjoy the home again on a future stay! Thank you to our host for sharing their lovely cabin.

Comfortable in a great location

We were there for the first cold and snowy weekend of the season. The house had everything we needed to stay comfortable and Queechee is just a little ways down the road for provisions.

Lovely comfortable log cabin

This is a lovely log cabin set on beautiful acreage near Quechee. You can hear the brook running nearby. The home and furnishings are comfortable. It has a very nice kitchen with high end appliances. There are some stairs that might not be clear in the photos. The washing machine and dryer as well as pool/ping pong table are in the basement. My family who went down to the brook and took the trails on the property said they were overgrown and hard to navigate. I rate this a 5 star.

We loved the view from the back porch and all that the surrounding areas had to offer. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
