We saw bears!

We saw two bears during our stay which was a huge plus. Great location and nice place. The shower heads really need replacing and the bed sheets on the king bed were too small other than that I don’t have any complaints!! Overall great place to stay we will come back!!

great cabin for the price

Our cabin was very nice and clean. Everything was exactly as pictured. The two complaints is one the upstairs shower head needs replaced. It did not have very good water flow. The second is the fireplace would not come on. Other than that it was amazing!!

Needs to be updated.

Upon arrival we found property to be less than clean. While this appeared to be once a great property, it needs updating. The deck is virtually unusable during any rain, due to a rotting roof. The carpet and furniture are dated. The outside of the property needs painted. I would not recommend this property in its current condition.

Amazing view of fall foliage. Nice carpet. The place was a bit run-down. Clean enough but poorly stocked. Had to go out to buy even the most basic items. (i.e. coffee pot but no filters; no kitchen sponge etc...) Wall paper beginning to peel. Closet doors were off the track and hard to open. Plastic cover on the mattress (seriously?). ROKU TV is a pain. Ridiculous mistakes made by staff - housekeeping unlocking our doors remotely several times making us feel unsafe, maintenance showed up to replace a ceiling fan light in the living room (we had no ceiling fan in the living room). Customer comforts lacking. Did not feel like we got our monies worth. Would not return.

Terrific for families

Every aspect of this cabin was even better than expected. Beautiful location tucked away in mountain roads with lovely wooded views. The layout is even better than pictured, and loft works well for families. One of the most well-furnished kitchens I've seen in a rental. All furnishings clean and in great condition. Friendly office with easy check in and out rules; no direct contact was needed and late arrival was easily accommodated. An added benefit: property includes access to THREE club pools, plus tennis courts, with stunning mountain locations, that our children really enjoyed. One pool is a three minute walk from the front doorstep. I am recommending this property and company to friends.

Great place to stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Bear Hugs was a great little place to stay! We enjoyed that the cabin was so close to downtown Gatlinburg and not too much further from Pigeon Forge! The view off the deck was gorgeous!

2/10 Terrible

Just disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed at the bear hugs location hoping to come to the mountains to quarantine. With that stay one of the most important thing to have during your stay is entertainment so you don't have to leave the cabin. Welp no internet and cable music or service. I called and asked several times to get it fixed with them going to the wrong cabin and then telling us to late to fix it cause of the weekend. Only got 60 bucks back from my stay to accommodate for the wifi. I am very disappointed in this stay and really wouldnt suggest anyone deal with the Chalet Village rentals at all. No care.

Bear Hugs - Great Value - But Cold

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice cabin - very nice for 2 couples. Loft design with master bedroom upstairs. Well equipped kitchen with drip coffee pot. Nice refrigerator and dishwasher. Great hot tub on lower level (about 12 steps down) TV/DVR/DVD/Stereo and Spectrum cable setup with 6 remote controls was challenging considering no info sheet or info booklet. Same for gas fireplace. No instructions. Simple to operate once we found unmarked auto on/off timer for natural gas located behind TV unit. Lack of snow shovel and deicing salt made short driveway very dangerous after mid Nov snow and ice with weather in 10-20 degree range. Unit not insulated or gear to handle very cold weather as HVAC ran constantly but inside temp never reached 70 degrees. Granted was really cold outside (10-20 degrees for 2 day period) but downstairs dining area very cold- continually. One call made to office dispatched a very helpful technician in less than 10 minutes. Would stay again in Spring or Fall. Not in Winter. Great location near most main attractions. Drive up and down not a serious challenge but best done during daylight hours. Snow plows did maintain roads very well.
