Disappointing and dirty
The place was dirty! All reviews online promised a clean and comfortable stay, sadly we were disappointed! It was barely cleaned inside and the amount of trash outside and under the porch was obscene! It looked like a frat party was there just before us! The bathrooms are in need of a good scrubbing as we were greeted with a dirty toilet and scummy showers! There were quite a few things needing repairs and many generally dirty spots around the house! The beds were very uncomfortable! Anytime someone turned over in there bed the rest of the house could hear it! So privacy is also lacking! The view was great however it couldn’t quite make up for the rest of it! Save yourself the disappointment and stay somewhere else!

Disappointed
The property is poorly maintained. The microwave and 3 tv's did not work, closet doors and fan blades are missing in the downstairs bedroom, there is garbage all over the property, bath towels are small and very thin, the grill bottom was broken out, carpet on stairs is very dated, light bulbs burned out in most rooms and the home is dated and not very clean, the floors were not swept well, kitchen is very dated. When I called to report the microwave and tv's didn't work, they were aware and said they are being replaced. A courtesy call to let us know prior to our arrival would have been appreciated.

Restless Vacation
The location of the property is great and has a marvelous view. However, I was extremely disappointed that many things were not taken care of before our arrival. There are four rooms in this cabin and one room had a very saggy mattress. At first, we thought that it would not be an issue, but when we turned in for the night, I sat on the bed and it collapsed. The end result was that my family of four had to sleep one king bed in a different room. As you can imagine, we did not sleep well. The very next morning we emailed customer service, called their office and they assured us verbally that they were working on a solution. We happily continued with our day exploring the Smoky Mountains. We brought a bunch of meat back to grill and the propane tank for the grill was empty. Additionally, the mattress was not replaced nor was a viable solution provided. We spent another restless night. The next morning, we contacted them again by email, and again called their office. The people that answered the phone told us they would do their best to replace the mattress the same day in the afternoon, but that we would have to buy our own propane tank. The afternoon rolled around and we had to call again. We were then told that they would be unable to replace the mattress for a third night in a row. Finally, on the fourth day of our five day vacation a maintenance person came. They replaced the mattress and fixed the frame that was extremely loose (He was a really nice guy, no complaints about him). However, by this time our spirits had already been broken and our vacation ruined. They did not offer compensation, for the broken bed nor the propane tank we had to replace. They only offered us a small amount on a gift card for future stays in their cabins. We have not received the gift card yet. Needless to say this would not nearly be enough to cover what we lost. I spent a lot of money on this vacation and did not have a restful place to sleep for three of the four nights.

Heavenly View for a reason
The views from this cabin are absolutely amazing!!! I can’t imagine any other cabin would have better views! The trip “up” to the cabin... just be prepared, if you are scared of heights, this is not the cabin for you! Especially in the dark! The roads are very winding and at some points, you can’t see what’s coming around the curves or even see the road on the curves! If you plan on cooking your own meals, I would consider bringing your own pots and pans. There is cast iron in the kitchen but it’s rusted. There is a crockpot available, but we didn’t use it. The cabin itself was nice and tidy and it’s views are amazing!!! It does need a good cleaning as there were cobwebs on all the lamps and in the kitchen corners and dust everywhere. There are baby gates in the closets if you need them. The kids and adults both loved the pool table. I would definitely stay in this cabin again! Oh, and we did see bears on several days of our stay right by our parked cars

Great Place and View
The house was what exactly what was expected with the setup and view! Absolutely beautiful!! My family and I saw bears the first day on the way to the house and every day we were here!! It was pretty awesome! Although I was in my element, a small storm came through and took out the internet which the kids had to actually do something else that didn’t require electronics, but we played games and just had fun! We would definitely come back! However, if you aren’t used to mountains and driving up them, you do have to drive up to get here! But it is definitely worth it!!!

Nice view, well appointed
The house fit our 2 families (9 people) well--the rooms were spacious and the bedding new. There was ample space so it didn't feel crowded. The only "downside" was that it is a 10 minute drive up (or down) the mountain with hairpin turns so don't plan to "run out" to a store if you forget something! We saw bears on or near the property everyday, but they were not aggressive...just be aware.

The bear sanctuary
You have to pay attention for bears. They are there on a regular basis.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: While it was really fun that this was one of the highest locations on the mountain, be prepared to white knuckle the drive up and down if you are afraid of heights. We had A LOT of bears: on the porch, in our car, in the trash (we averaged about nine a day in our driveway/yard below the balconies). Because of this we couldn't use the lower porch, but the kids loved keeping a "bear watch," and the property staff sent someone up to shoo some bears away when we needed to get in our cars (staff was very friendly and helpful!). The view was great; the hot tub was great and clean; it was nice that there were four bedrooms and that they were spread out on the three levels so that people could get space if needed (during a rainy day the kids stayed in the bottom floor while the adults were able to hang out on the kitchen level). The house itself has been updated to look modern, but it is older, and there is very little insulation between the floors: people in the upstairs bedroom can be heard clearly in the bedroom below (so watch those conversations at night (o:), etc., and any water that got out of the balcony bathroom's shower when people climbed out drip-dripped into the kitchen below (not a huge problem once we were aware what was causing it). Every time we called the office, they were great and quick to respond to issues. It was very clean, too; the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes for cooking and eating. Overall, we enjoyed it, and enjoyed that there was an actual view of the mountain, which isn't always the case with Gatlinburg properties.
