Weekday getaway

Over the property was good, quiet and relaxing. We had a good time going to all the different trials. Hot tub was decent, slightly worn out and dingy but not bad. Biggest compliment and one that other people seem to have as well is the bed. It is the worst bed we’ve ever slept on!! The springs are completely collapsed making it impossible to sleep on. Please fix bed for future guests. Overall 6/10 on the stay

Getaway

There are so many positive things to say about this property. It truly is a lovely getaway for a couple. The location is beautiful, quiet and the property is clean. However, there is one large negative to keep in mind when renting this cabin. If you read through the reviews for the last several YEARS you’ll notice people complaining about the mattress. And nothing has been done about it. It’s hard to get a good sleep. The mattress is in such poor condition. It makes me sad that the owners aren’t listening to what the renters are saying. I want to say that I would recommend this and we do really like the cabin however don’t expect a good night sleep.

Most Uncomfortable

Location was just what we were looking for. However, gravel would be nice at least where cars park. The cabin was clean. More towels would have been nice in the bathroom. Shower had good pressure. There was futon to sit on which sits low. It showed in the picture at least a leather loveseat. Very uncomfortable and the bench in front was good for stubbing toes. The hot tub wasn’t clean and had mold and mildew around the padding and we couldn’t even use. Upon reading past reviews there has been an outcry for the mattress to be replaced! I’ve never had to climb uphill to get to my side of the bed and haven’t slept on springs in 30 years! Amazon has affordable mattresses and they’re pretty comfortable. Location is great for quiet and solitude, but the second most uncomfortable cabin we’ve experienced since using VRBO for 20 years.

Cabin was exactly what we needed. Massaged property owners on app never heard back. I will echo what others already have, mattress needs replaced, and make sure to call number located through out the cabin to takr hot tub off sleep mode, otherwise it will not hold temperature.

Quiet Getaway For Our Anniversary

The property was beautiful, I booked this stay as a late Christmas gift/ anniversary gift to my husband. The cabin itself was nice, clean, and cozy. The hot tub had a bit of a musty smell, (though it didnt effect us making use of the relaxation time). The mattress definitely should be looked into and possibly even replaced, it was so uncomfortable and the middle of it was caved in, so no matter what position we layed in, we kept falling to the middle.It actually had me awake more than asleep. We tried to figure out how to turn on the fireplace, but everytime we did, it made a weird sound that made me uncomfortable, so we opted to keep it off.Again, very beautiful cabin, but there are certain things we felt should be looked at and fixed. All together, we still enjoyed the peace and enjoyment of being away from everyday life, even if it was just overnight.

It's everything I thought we were getting, except two major items for a relaxing weekend.

So, this doesn't sound like a negative review, the cabin and area once past the salvage yard were perfect with a couple pertinent issues: 1) The bed isn't sleepable. I didn't read the reviews which was my fault, but I also don't technically believe most reviews, however this was awful for someone with lumbar and cervical disc issues. As much as the hot tub/back porch, quaint living room has to offer I physcially wouldn't be able to stay there again which is disappointing. 2) The loveseat was nice, and perfect for two people, but was different from photo and not an option to sleep if, say, the bed isn't sleepable. 3) We pictured a different grill, but that one was on me. Just picture something different....................................For what we needed the cabin's location, ambience and general areas were perfect. We just hope you'd change out that mattress so we can return again next year, etc. I know not all folks have permanent back issues like myself, but the first thing folks want after hiking all day at Hocking Hills is the ability to get a good nights sleep. To finish, thank you very much for having us. We hope we left it up to your standards. We messaged about leaving lenins and trash in a certain manner, but didn't get a reply before leaving at 9:30. The rental fit our needs and accomplished our goals for a short weekend away. Thank you again. The folks in and around Logan and Hocking Hills were fantastic as well!

Quaint Weekend Getaway

The property was well represented by it's listing. Very beautiful & private. Staff was very friendly in our limited interactions, there was a gentleman spreading salt on the icy road while I was walking our dog and he made sure to alert me to the fact that the salt was not pet friendly and to be careful with our dog's paws.The cabin itself was very quaint and cozy. The fireplace was great for both warmth and ambiance, and the dog loved laying in front of it. The hot tub was nice & clean and private. Would highly recommend for those looking for a nice getaway.

Settler Roost

There were several things not up to par. There was no way to turn on the fireplace, the coffee pot was literally UNUSABLE until we disinfected it, there were four towels for 5 days when you have a hot tub, the bed was so uncomfortable that we slept on the floor one night, the hot tub would not heat well, and the cover was not conveniently used with a rack so that top could be hung out of the way. We left a day early due to lack of sleep and clean towels. Little things make or break a stay I believe!

Loved it!!

Loved the area! Loved the cabin! Everything was clean and nice! The Christmas tree and decor was super cute. Added to the experience. Only thing I would say was wish check out time was a little later just to enjoy the morning there. But we get it. Thank you for the great time we will love to be back!

Great quiet place to stay

Would definitely stay again. In hindsight there are a few things we would have equipped ourselves with knowing what to expect. But the cabin is adorable, private nice setting, super happy to of found this place. We both loved it.

Cozy Cabin

Nice hot tub that overlooks the woods. Cozy little cabin. Other reviews aren’t lying though, this mattress is terrible…after 3 hours of bad sleep I just sat in the hot tub and went home to sleep after. Other than that it was a really nice stay!

Great view from the Roost

We enjoyed the forest view off the deck very much. The bathroom, kitchen, and bedroom were great. We picked up a lot of dirt on our socks and feet walking on the floors; the hot tub was cloudy, and a used beverage can was left on the deck. We contacted the Manager to ask about early check-in through VRBO and called directly with no response. When we called the Manager one minute after check-in time, she picked up and gave us the remainder of the door code that was incomplete in the instructions.
