Great beachfront getaway
This was a perfect house for our two families to vacation at. The inside is clean and well-maintained, and there was plenty of space for us all to spread out. The beach has also been well cared for and had plenty of sand for the kids to play in. The lake off of the beach is relatively shallow, which we loved. Can’t beat the location either, as all of the stores and restaurants you need are within a few minutes drive. Highly recommend this one for families.

A Nice Cottage on Lake Huron
This quirky cottage provided us with a relaxing, comfortable stay. The layout of the house is perfect for a family gathering, with a large living area, nice patio (too bad the weather sucked for us), access to the beach and Lake Huron, and plenty of beds and bathrooms. The house is an older home that's been renovated and modernized. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were nice. I loved having one bath downstairs, where you could get away from the main room to...you know...do your business. Three bedrooms are downstairs as well. All were pretty large with queen beds. One quirk was the 18 (?!!) light switches in the main living area. We had some laughs trying to figure out what they all did. Overall, just a fun, comfortable place for a family get together. There were just two minor things that we felt could be improved. One, we never received any instructions for check-in from the host. I contacted him by email and he replied quickly, but that should be initiated by the host, not the guest. Second, the instructions at the entrance require the guests to strip all the beds, launder the sheets and towels, and put them all away before leaving at 11am. That's a bit much to do before checking out, and impossible for someone catching an early flight. We tried, but we had too many loads to finish before 11am. I called the host, and he graciously told us to just leave the last load and he'd take care of it. Probably need to rethink that, though. A nice stay.

Wonderful house, beautiful and convenient location!
Mark was a great host, gave us a tour and great local information. Very responsive! House had everything we could possibly need. Our family enjoyed our stay and look forward to future stays. The beach chairs & toys were so nice to have for our use and made it so easy to enjoy the beach with young kids.

What A Wonderful Week!
We had an amazing time at Mark & Rhonda’s Desmond Beach House. The whole family enjoyed the beach & water. The family stayed on the beach most of the trip. The bedrooms are more than spacious. The view is tremendous. The amount of ship traffic is amazing. At one point there were 5 ships within view. My husband & I enjoyed the lounge chairs. There are two that are nice and high, easy to get out of for our old bones. (Would love to know where they were they were purchased.). The stairs to the beach were great, again easy to maneuver for older parents. The main floor shower was converted to walk-in, which was a bonus. Mark was very attentive to our needs & concerns. Over all our stay was excellent. Kudos to Mark & Rhonda,

Beautiful beach and views of Lake Huron.
Our family enjoyed the beach and clear waters of Lake Huron. However we were somewhat disappointed in the upkeep of the house. The downstairs area looked newly refurbished but some mattresses were stained with no mattress pads, sheets were stained. Upstairs needs painting and a good cleaning. Found food from previous renters under the sofa.

Family Vacation
The view can't be beat. The water views are seen easily from the living and sun rooms, plus hearing the waves is ultimate relaxation. The rooms are decent size, especially the bedrooms in the basement. They easily accommodated a full air mattress with space to spare. We had a family of younger children and the height of the beds was intimidating. Overall, the place was great. Views were breathtaking. We have rented several times before so are quite familiar with the process. As we had small children, we had to bring a booster chair and pack n play as these were not on site. Additionally, there were 1 game and 1 puzzle and I didn't see any movies. Outside, there wasn't an outdoor activities for the children/adults. ie, kayaks, paddle boat, etc, or any any non-water activity. They didn't venture far into the water because it was rather cold and subsequently would get bored pretty quickly. The house itself can safely sleep 14, however, the kitchen table seats 6; with a card table for 4. Lastly, we were asked to wash the sheets/towels before check out. In past rentals, we've only ever stripped the sheets and washed the towels on occasion. So this was new and changed the plan upon departure. If you don't have small kids, this house is fantastic. If you do have smaller children, I would plan many activities.
