A beautiful place to stay - thank you.
We stayed at Mas de Breuil in early July 2014 and it was one of the best rental accommodations we have ever used. We have a lovely home ourselves with nice kitchen and bathrooms and I always want just as high a standard when on holiday. We were not disappointed.
The gite is converted from old farm buildings in the grounds of an ancient hunting lodge, where the owners live. There is one other smaller gite across the yard and you can use the swimming pool and tennis court. The whole gite is tastefully furnished with antique and rustic furniture and pieces of art.
The accommodation is on three floors. On the ground floor is a very large lounge/dining room with a kitchen and a utility room plus a separate toilet. There is a modern dishwasher and washing machine plus two fridge/freezers. We saw a travel cot and a highchair stored here. There is a bedroom with two single beds (that can be pushed together) on the ground floor. This room has an en-suite shower and toilet - there is no door but there is a dividing wall. This bedroom would be ideal for someone with limited mobility as access is completely level from outside and the shower/toilet area could be easily accessed with a wheelchair.
On the next floor there are two bedrooms, each with two single beds, plus a separate shower room and a separate toilet. On the top floor under the eaves is a large double bedroom with its own bathroom (or was it a shower room - didn't go up there much!). So it accommodates eight very comfortably. Each room has air conditioning - wonderful!
The only suggestion we would make to improve the gite would be to add an extra sofa - there weren't enough comfortable seats for all seven of us to sit and watch a DVD - we brought in a couple of (nice) deck-chairs from outside to deal with this.
The owner was friendly and helpful, both during the booking process and on site. There is a big, black, bouncy, barking dog, which is also very friendly and which we enjoyed playing with but you might like to be prepared if you have dog-phobic members in your party. Parents with young children should also be aware that the swimming pool is not fenced off and that there are pieces of agricultural machinery, and a small river, within walking distance - there is no enclosed garden and small children would need to be watched (but that's normal, isn't it).
Overall we would definitely recommend this gite to anyone wanting a comfortable holiday in this beautiful part of France.
