Our first rental cancelled our reservation 3 days before we were to arrive for Hot August Nights and we were in a panic as to where to stay as Reno gets quite full at that time. We got so lucky to find this listing. The house is really a great place to stay. The location is wonderful, right on the river. It was really nice to sit on the back deck and relax after looking at cars all day in the heat. The home is located in an RV park that is close to everything. The tiny home itself had everything we needed. I will say that the staircase up to the loft with the 2nd bed is precarious, lucky there was just two of us and didn't need to. You would also need to be quite small and agile to move around up there. Would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay at this tiny cabin. The cabin is on the Truckee River and was a pretty spot! The people who work here are very polite and helpful. The unit could have used a few more basic items in the kitchen like utensils, cutting board, and hot pads.
Loved the location... easy walking to Riverwalk and downtown. Tiny house was adorable... very clean and relaxing. We arrived late and had one small issue but Property Management checked in and it sorted out. Definitely would stay here again.
It’s very clean and cute. Had a need after hours and one during the day. Kassie promptly responded. This was our second time renting here. We have been so pleased.
I'm a tiny house fan, and was excited to discover Reno finally had its own tiny homes for rent. I booked the Tanzanite Cottage for a staycation and alone time for just me. It delivered on all my expectations, and I look forward to staying there again or trying one of the other Gemstone Cottages. The Tanzanite is happily situated between two towering elm trees offering shade and dappled sunlight that fills the cottage. You can see and hear the Truckee River from most of the windows and most certainly from the two back porches--main level and upper level. When you sit on the upper level porch, you feel kind of like you're in a treehouse. In just about 100 steps out the back door, you can be standing on the banks of the river. The cottage was clean and comfortable. Check-in and check-out was super easy. I appreciated that the cottage and the one next door were inside a fenced area for privacy. Pretty landscaping. Kitchen has a few plates and drinking glasses, eating utensils, two pots, one frying pan, one small baking pan and a few plastic bowls for tossing salads. There is also a chopping knife and wooden spoons for use with the pots and pan. There is no spatula (I brought my own) and no oven mitt (I used the dish towel to remove items from the oven). Coffee pot worked fine--just one cup at a time--and must use coffee pods (two were provided). Bathroom is spacious for a tiny house and had a nice walk-in shower with good water pressure. The loft is cute, but I decided to sleep in the downstairs bed, which was very comfortable. It's city-living that feels like you're in the country a bit. Close to downtown and midtown restaurants, bars and shopping. There is traffic on the nearby street and the train goes through a few times during the day and evenings, so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to noise.
Immaculate riverfront property close to everything Reno has to offer. Comfortable and clean with great outdoor living on the decks. Best for a couple, or couple with older kids.
We absolutely loved our time at this property. The location is convenient to the Reno airport and the property is beautiful. We appreciated the locked privacy fence and the house was very clean and surprisingly spacious. The complimentary breakfast was very nice!
Our only critique would be that the roller shades do not block much light.
We would definitely stay here again!
Perfect cottage on the river for my 2 night stay. It was really smokey so couldn't really enjoy the beautiful decking. Just a word of caution to light sleepers...busy road one cottage over, and trains late at night. Otherwise beats any hotel room!! Thanks for the great treats!
Great little place, but lacking in kitchen amenities
Super cute tiny house and overall very clean & comfortable. However, kitchen items are sparse to say the least. If you intend to cook any meals, be prepared to improvise or just eat out like we ended up doing. Coffee maker makes one cup (requires special pod), no toaster, no spatula, one knife, one small baking sheet, no dishwasher, no dish towels, no extra garbage bags (did I mention the ants?). There is plenty of empty cabinets in the kitchen, so please add some essential items to this kitchen. Some salt, pepper & olive oil would be nice as well. We ended up eating out for the majority of our meals which wasn't our initial plan.
The house itself is beautifully designed. Didn’t feel like a tiny home at all. Felt really spacious. The outdoor patio was really well thought out. Loved spending time with my family sitting on the couch overlooking the river. The only issue I had was that the stairs to the loft inside the house and the spiral stairs outside the house was completely unsafe for small kids. My daughter fell down from the spiral stairs and got herself hurt. Thankfully it was nothing major and she was back on her feet in a few minutes. For the rest of the stay, me and my wife were running behind her all the time to make sure she isn’t falling down again.
This place is very nice, it is right next to the river. And it's close to downtown Reno. The house itself is very nice, staircase in the house is rough to get up and down, but the one outside is fine. Overall a great place to stay if you need a small rental on the river
