The Mountain View Home located INSIDE THE GATES OF YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK is only an 18 minute drive to Bridalveil Falls, Yosemite Valley or to Badger Pass Ski area! Yosemite West is a small town located on the western side of Yosemite National Park just 3 miles off of Hwy 41 near the Glacier Point Rd. junction. EXCELLENT CENTRAL LOCATION INSIDE YOSEMITE!

The home is well well-built, 2 story true Yosemite mountain home with a spacious upper living/kitchen area upstairs. 3 bedrooms total with 2 KING BEDS and 1 QUEEN, 1 TWIN. Sleeping pad, and roll-away bed are also available. WIFI, laundry, full kitchen with dishwasher, all linens, gas BBQ. Mountain View Home offers comfort and privacy for couples, a family, or a group. Beautiful open, bright living room floor plan attached to the kitchen/dining area and deck makes this house perfect for entertaining/group dinners.

EXCELLENT winter family home: Warm, easy access to Highway 41 and Badger Pass Ski Area. Also, a terrific summer home at an elevation of 5,600 as temperatures are moderate, central location, views, and tall pines whisper in the summer breeze.

Beautiful Comfy Mountain Retreat

Everything was great, couldn't have been any better of a home base for Yosemite exploring. Such a comfortable place to come back to after climbing half dome. Everything was as shown in the photos, with great/easy instructions from the owner. She was also extremely responsive to any questions we had in advance. All in all a great stay in a comfortable home, with great views. Would definitely come back.

Comfortable cabin

This cabin was perfect for us and our adult children. The location was great--it was so nice not to have to stress about timed entry passes for our visit to Yosemite! The view from the second-story deck was lovely, and we enjoyed seeing deer, a bear, and a fox from the deck during our stay. Comfortable beds were another plus.

Yosemite Getaway

Lovely home with a beautiful view. Well furnished except for hangers and there is no ice maker as stated. Broken down ice trays do not count as an ice maker. Comfortable furniture and beds. Upstairs bathroom has a grab bar that needs fixing. Art work by the owner is an enhancement. Quiet neighborhood. At this point in time…Early May 2024, you will not make it to the valley in 18 minutes as stated in the write up because of Park road delays, anywhere from 10 minutes to 50. Couldn’t be in a more beautiful place to wait though! Would definitely stay here again. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place to enjoy one of the most gorgeous places in the world! Oh, did I mention the profusion of blooming dogwoods. Best time of the year to see Yosemite NP in all its majestic glory.

Hiking

The stay was very nice. Was a bit surprised with the climb we needed to drive to the VRBO, but it wasn't too bad and I guess is expected when staying inside the park. The home was very comfortable for a large family. Loved the back deck. We needed nothing but groceries and there was even coffee left by another guest. Thank you for the memories.

Yosemite Vacation

This property was everything we were looking for- clean, cozy, warm and an easy drive to the valley. The property has an amazing view and was the perfect place to relax after all day exploring the park. Property manager responded quickly to any questions. Highly recommend!

Nice Rustic house in Yosemite West

Great location near glacier road hikes or into Yosemite Valley. Parking, the neighborhood, the deck and yard were a nice luxury staying within the park. Hosts were amazing to deal with and gracious during possible park closure due to government shutdown.

Gorgeous sunsets

I’ve never seen a more beautiful sunset through the trees than from that back porch! Beds/pillows were comfortable. It is dated, but we enjoyed the rustic feeling for the two nights. Couch newer and comfortable. Spacious master bedroom. Lots of towels. No a/c so a little stuffy, I guess we could have opened the windows but were afraid of bears. Could use a deep cleaning as it was dusty but things that mattered like bathrooms and kitchen were clean. No tv, couldn’t get the Roku working, but we were in the mountains. Overall a nice stay and convenient to the sights of Yosemite!

Perfect location sunsets and wildlife

This home is in the perfect location. The owners communicated well and everything was so easy. This is not a luxury place - more beautiful cabin like, but we had everything we needed, beds were comfortable and was generally clean (a little dusty) - I think expectations may have affected other reviews. The location is perfect looking over part of Yosemite valley - great central location and lots of wildlife (bear, birds) and family time! We loved it!

Location is great

We enjoyed being within the park and having a kitchen. Lots of windows with beautiful view. Printed directions were helpful, as we had spotty cell service on the way there. Place was not well cleaned (cobwebs, dirty bathroom floor, island had not been cleaned from the prior guests) and is dingy and dated. Kitchen could have been stocked better. For example, only 3 spoons small enough to eat Yoplait. This place was priced lower than other 3 bedroom houses.

Yosemite Park Stay

Property location in the Park a BIG plus as no need to go through the Park Gates on a daily basis. Great view off the back deck looking back towards Hwys 120 and 140. House is a bit rustic and dated but everything worked, hot showers and comfortable beds! Host was easy to communicate with, especially snce we had no problems, other than a short power outage most likely due to construction in the neighborhood.

We were very happy with this home for our stay. It was nice to be close to the valley floor. The kitchen was stocked with dishes needed for our meals, great if you want to cook on your trip. The grill on the deck was used nightly! We would recommend this home!!

Perfect Location in Yosemite!

Our family of 5 adults stayed here for a few nights in July. It is in a perfect location with under a 30 minute drive into Yosemite Valley. We spent our days hiking and exploring around Yosemite. The beds were super comfortable after hours of hiking! We also appreciated having a washer and dryer to do laundry after hiking in the heat. The view out back from the deck is amazing! Chelsea was always quick to respond to my questions before the trip, and I had so many questions so I appreciate that. I would definitely recommend staying at this property!

Wonderfully close to Yosemite sights and very homey

We loved how close the home is to the sights of Yosemite, being located in the Yosemite West community . It takes a bit to get down to the house once you enter the community entrance, but it was worth it... the home feels more connected to the natural scenery. We loved seeing the footprints of wildlife in the snow off the back porch! And the view was so lovely, it made it easier to wake up for early morning outings. The kitchen was well stocked - we found a type of pan for every purpose. The living room and beds were very comfortable. The layout is a bit strange, but as it's an older home that makes sense. We weren't too fond of the very open master bath -- there is no door so privacy with a roommate really isn't possible. That, and the general wear-and-tear of an older home, are the only reasons I deducted a star. Though absolutely the benefits outweigh the minor inconveniences. I would absolutely recommend this home to family and friends. One last note: the artwork in the kitchen, dining and living room area looks to have been completed by the homeowner's family member, which we found a warm and charming addition.

great spot for a Yosemite visit; good base to begin your exploration of the park. some upgrades and renovations would enhance the stay . the upstairs has a great kitchen/common area with nice deck with great view to relax after day in the park. downstairs with 2 large bedrooms has a shared bath awkwardly layed out. manager/owner was fine, communicated and responded when needed. reviews and descriptions were honest and accurate. I would recomend this property.

Needs some TLC

Lot of small things Need some attention. Screen door as well as sliding glass door off the track. Bathroom fan extremely noisy, we fixed it. Only 3 coffee cups and no trash bags. These are only a few of the things that need some attention! Beds were comfortable and location is good.

BEAUTIFUL VIEW

Back porch is amazing with that cup of coffee. It looks over a valley. No houses obstructing the view. There is a stove in the middle of the house that give this mountain feel. Would rent again!

Why they chose this property

Mountain View Home is only 3 miles from the Glacier Point Road and it is very handy to go up for hikes (summer) along the Glacier Point corridor such as Sentinel Dome, Taft Point, Phono Trail, or the 4-mile Trail. The home is 18 minutes from Yosemite Valley. It is also close to Badger Pass ski area (winter), which is very handy in winter! Excellent winter snow plowing and access to the home, important for safety and easy access to the home.
Beautiful open floor plan living room with a sliding glass door opening out onto the deck. Lovely mountain views from the living room and deck. Perfect for groups or families.

What makes this property unique

There are few homes that are located INSIDE Yosemite National Park. This home is only 18 minutes from Yosemite Valley. The winter access to the Badger Pass ski area is especially nice, only about 18 minutes and we are cross-country skiing on the free groomed Glacier Point Road. Very handy and fun! The home is also excellent in the summer months as it has an elevation of 5,600, the temperatures tend to be very comfortable, and easy access out to Glacier Point, Wawona, or Yosemite Valley! AMAZING views of the surrounding pines, granite cliffs and even some waterfalls in the spring.
