About this property

This spectacular single-family home sits on a beautiful, large & private, maturely-landscaped lot. The expansive front yard is well-appointed with the Lowcountry's famed majestic Grand Oaks, Folly Beach Sabal Palms, tree swings and hammocks.

This home was professionally and meticulously designed to include all modern amenities and upgrades while retaining the simple and quaint nature of a classic Folly Beach home.

A quick walk or bike ride to Folly's best dining, shopping and nightlife, and only steps to the Atlantic Ocean.

Public Beach Access (6th Block West) is directly across the street; quickest beach access on Folly!

***Please Note*** the upstairs flex space is not "technically" a "bedroom" because it does not have it's own private doors. It functions as a bedroom, and it is plenty spacious to sleep 2-3 guests, but I cannot call it a "bedroom" because it does not have privacy doors.

Beach trip woth friends

We had an amazing stay. Mike was a great host! The house was very roomy, clean and a very short walk from the beach. Mike also provided beach supplies and cute bikes for a fun and relaxing experience. When we were checking out we were already discussing coming back!

Great family home

Great location- steps to the beach! Each bedroom has a bathroom. Comfortable beds. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of beach chairs, towels, beach toys/games for all ages. We left a 10x10 tent to add to the collection. Owner, Mike, was very accommodating to all of our needs.

Pictures are deceiving

The website painted a very different picture of the reality of this place. Some rooms have been remodeled others are in great need of some major attention. It looked as though a golf cart was available - not so!!! There were 4 bicycles there which would have been wonderful, had they not been chained with no apparent access to the keys to the locks. I believe it was a wonderful place at ONE TIME but it currently is need of much renovation inside and out. In addition some of the furniture needs to be trashed and replaced. We did have an amazing week at the beach! Great location! Great weather! Wonderful Family time! However it seems we were charged too much $$$$ for what we actually received.

Really nice place Very clean. Lots is room for everyone. If you get bored there it’s your own fault. My grand kids enjoyed the swings and hot tubs.

The tech in the house is fantastic!

The house Sonos was great. We were able to listen to music anywhere in the house. The outdoor bar and front yard were top notch. Really enjoyed the home.

Folly Beach - arrived as guests, left as family

We were the smart group of people who booked a beach house a week after a major hurricane- although we didn’t plan that, it was just one of the many surprises on this trip. Mike was incredibly responsive, helpful, and made sure we had the absolute best time. The house was comfortable and cozy, every amenity you could need was available (there’s never enough towels in a beach house and somehow we barely made a dent after using the hot tub every day). We Could not have asked for a better time, thanks again Mike, see ya next year! Sorry about our friend Dan.

Great House for Family Vacation!

We had the best time on our family vacation at this property. Mike was a very accommodating host, very responsive, and you can tell he truly cares that you enjoy your stay at his home. The location was perfect, right across from beach access, which is great when you have young children. The house has everything: unbelievable sound system (I'm getting a Sonos now), every coffee option you could ever want, plenty of seating areas inside and out, accommodations for young kids like baby gates and a crib, tons of beach accessories like wagon, chairs and toys. Outside does not disappoint either, plenty of usable outdoor space including a large table, very nice hot tub, and tree swings that the kids loved. There were several bikes to cruise around on and other outside activities like bocce ball, pin pong, and corn hole. His house is right around the corner from a cool playground, a short golf cart ride to to the main strip for shopping and restaurants and down the street from Sunset Cay Marina. We love Folly Beach and will definitely be back again!

Some positives; needs work

This house is in a great location, right across the street from a public access to the beach. The owner is incredibly responsive and accommodating. There are a lot of great amenities, such as the jacuzzi, a fabulous sound system throughout the entire house, and every coffee gadget you could want. The kitchen has been updated and is really usable, and one bathroom is updated. The downside is that many of the basics have been neglected. The house itself has not been maintained like an older home needs to be. There is a hole in the ceiling in one spot, and you can see damage from other leaks (but no current leaks). One of the couches is literally shredding apart and needs replacing. The other two bathrooms need updating. The biggest disappointment is the lack of usable outdoor space, which is critical at the beach. Despite the pictures showing nice outdoor areas, none of it is protected from the rain. The area under the house with the hot tub and big TV is under the deck, and the rain leaks through. The cushions and rug stay wet, and the entire area is musty and dank. We couldn't use it. All the other cushions on the deck and in the yard by the fire pit are constantly damp, buggy and moldy, and clearly haven't been replaced in awhile. The home has great potential, but needs a good bit of work.

Best fun house on Folly.

Super experience from the inside appointments, comfy beds, laundry and kitchen equipment, the layout for gatherings, the hot tub, the Solo fire pit, hammock, swings, bikes and other toys to the location and the beautiful, shady oak. Everyone could find something to do when they weren't on the beach. Fun place to stay!

Dreamy Folly Trip

Mike's property is a dream. We had 5 kiddos and 4 adults; everyone was super comfortable. With steps from the beach, it is ideal for any group. The house has everything you could ever imagine from a full kitchen, laundry supplies, and most beach items including sand toys, a wagon, chairs, umbrellas, etc. There is bug spray, sunscreen, light medications in a drawer, spices, condiments, a PLETHORA of coffee options, plus more. I have back issues and the beds were incredible. The pillows were unbelievably soft and the linens are high quality. There are board games, plenty of indoor seating, tree swings, two hammocks, fire pits, hot tub, TV's everywhere (literally every room of the house,) a dart playing area, a continuous gas BBQ/grill on the deck, and tons of spacious living space outdoors. It is a super quick trip to Folly's main hangout area (roughly 3 min on a golf cart.) IT'S JUST A DREAM. We can't wait to return to Mike's home and enjoy many more family/friend trips.

Great house!

We spent two weeks with our kids and grandson and had a great time! House was perfect for our needs and right across from the entrance to the beach. House is less than a mile from the restaurants and shops. Mike is a great host. We would definitely stay here again!

We felt lucky to stay here

This was our first visit to South Carolina and Folly Beach. We stayed for 3 nights and loved the location- beautiful beach, lots of fun surfing and playing in the waves. We’ve used VRBO many times, with varying success. This was, by far, one of the best experiences. The house is perfect - spacious yet cozy. Well designed and decorated. The host is extremely thoughtful - and the house is very well stocked, with basic necessities as well as some extras (bogeyboards, bikes, bug spray). We loved our visit and look forward to returning.

Amazing stay in Folley!

We had an amazing time in Folley and greater Charleston at this rental! Super clean with great access to the beach and beach bars. Mike, the owner, is super responsive and made us feel very welcomed! Really cool sound system in the home and beautiful deck and swing on the front porch. 10/10 recommend!

This property was one of a kind!! The front yard and porch was such a great hang out area and the lighting in the evening gave it a tropical feel. The beds, sheets, and pillows were also great! The location is perfect, my wife and I walked downtown multiple times and our kids loved riding the bikes provided downtown to go shopping and get ice cream. No worries about beach parking because you just walk across the street and your there!!

Spectacular Folly Beach house

When we opened the door to this house our jaws dropped! This property is spectacular- from the decor, cleanliness, house layout/size, location, huge front lawn, outdoor space and furniture! We can’t say enough positive things about this property! On top of this it is close to everything- beach/restaurants. I highly recommend this house and know it will me one of your favorites too!

Excellent stay

The property and location were beautiful. The inside of the house was really well decorated and had a very cool theme. The furniture was an awesome weathered style with modern appliances and electronics. Plenty of activities outdoors. My kids didn’t want to get off of the surfing swing. The walk to the beach was perfect. All we had to do was cross a low traffic road. It was an amazing trip.

Awesome Experience!

The owner is what the experience even better than it would have been! Genuinely nice couple and the property is clean, great location and provides nearly all of your beach needs. Sonos speakers is nearly every room, ping pong table, nice kitchen and a lot of outdoor seating. Will recommend to my friends and family!

Great Beach Get Away

We loved the property! It is exceptionally clean. It is a unique house filled with charm. The beds are heavenly! The location is great- right across the street from the beach and a short walk to restaurants and shops, or better yet ride the bikes the owner provides. There were lots of beach chairs and umbrellas everything you need to enjoy the day. The owner was responsive to questions and very helpful. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely Incredible Folly Beach Home!

Our family has been visiting Folly Beach each summer for over 15 years. This is hands down the most incredible spot we've ever stayed. It was jaw-droppingly beautiful; there is literally an Angel Oak in the front yard! No other house on Folly has it's own Angel Oak for the kids to climb. The house was spotlessly clean, the beds were beyond comfortable, the design and decor were clearly hand-picked for this home. The pictures are great and had us sold when we booked it, but the pics don't do it justice; they can't. It's awesome then some. The location is literally steps from the beach; you can see a beautiful view of the ocean from the front porch over the public beach access b/c there is no beachfront house blocking the view. We looked around at the surrounding properties, and none of them are set back off the street, and none of them have this view. It felt like we were staying in our own super private beachfront home. The provided linens, beach towels, beach chairs, ping pong table, cornhole set, paddleboard, multiple fridges, SONOS sound system, landscaping, etc. etc. were all top notch. The location is perfect; the house is set back off the street so it's very private, yet only a few steps to Center Street and the Pier (which just re-opened apparently). The owner manages the property himself, and he was very responsive, friendly and accommodating. We've never felt so welcome at any of the vacation rentals we've stayed at in the past. There is a level of higher-class everything at this Folly Beach home, and I'm frankly blown away we were even able to rent it. I cannot say enough good things about this property and our experience staying there, so I'll leave it at this. If you get lucky enough to book it, do it. Folly Beach itself is amazing; that's why we always come back. But Folly Beach at this home is truly a one-of-a-kind experience you don't want to miss. Thank you Mike. We'll be back next summer if you'll have us; the kids can't wait!

I moved to Charleston in 2007 and quickly fell in love with the coast and the Lowcountry. Since moving to Charleston, I've watched the city transform from "SC's best kept secret" to the world-renowned travel destination it is today.

I love boat days, shark tooth hunting, sleeping late, and camping with my pups. I enjoy hosting all friendly folks visiting Charleston; I especially enjoy hosting folks who are experiencing Charleston for the first time.

The listing states I don't allow pets; this is to deter folks who are traveling with a pack of Rottweilers from thinking my home is an option for them.

I love dogs; I have two (non-shedding) goldendoodles who live with me at the house half the year.
