Beware of the Bears!
The house and accommodations were top notch but renters should be aware that there are black bears that are not afraid to walk right onto the deck and hot tub while you’re in it. Keep in mind that these bears are not tame pets and can kill. We were later told by a neighbor that the bears visit that house (lower deck) frequently and that they can and have been aggressive and destructive. After having this happen to us were a bear was no more than an arms length from my head, I reached out to the owner/manager of the house and told him about the incident and suggested that perhaps he should let future renters know of that possibility. He never even replied except to ask for us to give him a positive review. I felt like it was his responsibility to make the renters aware of the possibility of the Bears and that he could have gone as far as to have provided or suggested that we have bear spray with us. So since he was not willing to respond to me I thought it best if I let future renters know of our experience. Be very careful going outside after dark and be extremely careful if you are cooking/grilling on the lower deck or are in the hot tub after dark. I’d suggest that you bring bear spray. Otherwise, the house was top notch.
