Riveloup is a delightful house in a peaceful setting within a lovely area of southern France .
We had a wonderful extended family holiday at Riveloup , there were 15 of us,we 3 older members stayed in the guest house which was ideal with its own area of seating and kitchen for a gentle start to the day . The rest of the family occupied the main house and the 5 teens throughly enjoyed their own rooms and tv (Olympics) . The pool and river were great and lots of swimming fun and exploring was had , plenty of towels were to hand . The more energetic did some walking through the nearby gorge which was very lovely with stunning views . The house is very well equipped and clean, lots of fridge space which is important when feeding 15 !! We all enjoyed eating together at the large outdoor tables and adding to the atmosphere with candles which were to hand . The coast is a short drive away where the charming town and exclusive port of Antibes provided an interesting visit . Liesel is an excellent host who did her best to provide us with information as we needed it . An amazing area to visit ,off the well trodden path but not isolated ,we had a great holiday !

An adventure overlooking the Riviera
We were a family of 13 most of whom had never been to France. Arrival was a little more challenging for some that could not access Google maps. It is an isolated location especially for some of our drivers. We arrived with a record setting heat wave and were concerned that fans would not suffice. It took a day to sort out the best way to handle the heat and every day got better. All fans should be on before guests arrive in hot spells. The pool and other features like waste and automated gates require some effort. We had volunteers to make that work. We loved the kitchen and our door dining. We ate at the property more than intended. We had arranged a Riviera tour that picked up our group at the house...a good idea. We found the location kept us close with visits to St Paul de Vence, Gourdon, Vence, and Grasse. Most went on a food tour of Nice and our last dinner was in Antibes. We really wished we had 2 weeks. Our host was very pleasant and helpful. We loved the pool and the occasional hang glider landing next door. Every direction contained wonderful views. The nights were cool. Hopefully screens will be added to help with global warming. Air conditioning would have taken care of those most affected by the heat. Overall a great experience in a unique place that requires commitment by the renters. It was a good value.

A small spot of heaven among olive trees
We spent five wonderful weeks in the guest house of Riveloup. Leaving Canada on February 4th, at the coldest time of the year, we were delighted to see that spring had arrived in Riveloup. The mimosa trees were in full bloom, violets and primroses bloomed everywhere, and some trees started to bloom in the second week. The temperature was 12 Celsius when we arrive and 20 Celsius when we left. We had a few days of rain and one stormy night. The guest house is a lovely place, bright and cheery. The kitchen is fully equipped. The beds in both bedrooms, with bathroom en-suite, are comfortable. Our hostess, Liesel, made sure we had everything we needed and gave us advice on where to go and what to see. We walked every day, had lunch out in many of the restaurants and bistros in the area. We found that it cost not much more to have a meal at lunchtime than to cook dinner at home. Most places offer an Entree (appetizer) and Plat du Jour (full meal) between 13 to 16 Euros. Restaurants within ten minutes of driving are the Bistro du Clos and the Capprizio. A higher-priced restaurant is L''Écolle des Filles where we had excellent foie gras. For a different experience, one that takes a little longer, but is well worth the steep drive, we drove to Greolieres and had lunch at La Vielle Auberge, where the escargots were delicious. From there, we continued another 21 km up the mountain to visit Greolieres des Neiges. It was a beautiful drive with a view of the Alps , ending at the bottom of a ski hill. A busload of students enjoyed a day of sliding on the snow when we were there, but the skiing season had come to an end, as we didn't see any skiers, and the restaurant was boarded up. We visited Grasse, St. Paul de Vence, Gourdon, St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice, and took the train to go to La Scala, in Milan, Italy. After each visit we were happy to be ""home" again. The peaceful environment in Riveloup is truly addictive. On Saturdays, the organic farmer sells fresh vegetables, fruits and eggs. For visitors who bring their dogs to Riveloup, there is a large dog-run, just minutes from the guest house, in a park-like setting. We would go back anytime and recommend Riveloup to anyone who looks for early spring and likes to be surrounded by nature and the lovely, gurgling sounds of the river Loup flowing around and over rocks at the end of the property.

Great spot for a relaxing family holiday
This was our second family (15) holiday spanning 3 generations. Our first trip was to South of Spain and we decided we'd try somewhere different. We only had a week to appreciate the numerous facilities of Riveloup and South of France but the house and surrounding area lived up to, and in so many ways exceeded our expectations. I wish we could have given an extra half star 4.5 would've been the ideal score. Liesel had already shown her commitment to customer service by buying a guitar following a simple request to see if there was one available. She also arranged a table for lunch for us all at a near by restaurant pre-check-in - and even helped us by calling them to explain that we'd be 6 short following a delay in the flight from Edinburgh) Liesel greeted us as we arrived in dribs and drabs (you need Sat Nav - and to trust your instincts - we ended up about 200 yards short of Riveloup - but called Liesel & she came to the gates - just past the fruit / eggs farm - to show us the way) a brief handover and explanation of everything and we were ready. She explained that we were her first rental since buying Riveloup, and to tell her if there were any problems whatsoever. Property The place in Spain had mixed standards of bedroom - but Riveloup bedrooms are all of a similar standard - comfortable beds and plenty hanging space - good showers etc. Could do with more power points to charge up all the inevitable phones, cameras etc. The important thing was nobody felt the were missing out. However the upstairs room (allocated to the senior citizens) had the benefit of extra space on the balcony with different views. It became clear that the sunbeds inherited from the previous owners had seen better days. 4 ripped in quick succession and when we told Liesel delivered 8 later that day. Can't ask for more The cramped kitchen is a problem but Liesel is well aware and has plans to improve the this later n the year. Having a separate property for families, or party animals makes sense!! Gardens etc The outside area is fantastic - where to begin, highlights include: - the spacious pool - focus for the bulk of the week - river pool, fabulous spot (maybe some steps down?) - large mature gardens - space to chill & get away from things if needed - the BBQ's - top quality Webber and of course the Braai - activities - table tennis & trampoline proved hugely popular - dining table - focus no 2 for the meals snacks etc - rattan garden furniture top notch

A wonderful property near Tourrettes-sur-Loup
We had a family gathering here. The house was perfect for an extended family get together. There were enough bedrooms for everyone and plenty of activities for time spent at the house: great swimming pool, trampoline, soccer field, ping-pong table, pétanque court and so on. There’s lots to do nearby and further afield in Nice, Antibes and elsewhere on the Mediterranean coast. We loved our visit!

Great place to relax and enjoy the pool and the property. The location is great for day trips to Vence, Grasse, and Tourettes-sur-Loup. The only detraction is that grocery stores are 15 to 25 minutes away.

Superb large family villa
We were a large family of 8 adults and 8 children and the villa catered perfectly for everyone’s needs. Lots of space for the kids to play, the pool area and external seating was used all the time during our stay. The river beside the villa was a great activity for the kids to go explore. The scenery surrounding the villa were stunning and the local towns and villages were easy to get to (albeit the roads were very twisted) and the supermarkets had all we required. The bbq was used most nights and the kids played with the swings, boules, trampoline, ping pong table everyday. We would recommend this accommodation to any families and we would love to come back again.

Exceptional!
Our party of 15 (9 adults and 6 children) spent a week at this beautiful and tranquil villa. The grounds are huge, and the kid-centric facilities, from the pool, trampoline, sandpit and table tennis , to the lavender "meadow" that they used to make posies, and the freshwater stream, meant that we never got bored and felt very little need to leave apart from the daily run to the Boulangerie and to stock up on more wine! It is Liesel's home for part of the year, and has that homely, well stocked feeling. The fenced off stream and pool (with loads of inflatables and beach towels) gave much needed peace of mind with little ones running around. Both houses are well equipped, with a vast amount of crockery, glasses etc, two dishwashers, two washing machines and a drier, which made running a household of so many people much easier. Liesel was quick to help with any issues- she lives nearby and was able and willing to pop round quickly when requested. There were much appreciated beers and crisps on arrival and she went above and beyond to help us watch the England/Croatia football match live, even bringing down her own apple TV! There's a huge supermarket (Casino) about a 15 minute drive away and a boulangerie 6-10 minutes away. . You will need a car for this property, but there are lovely walks on the doorstep. Visits to nearby Bar sur Loup, Tourettes, Vence ,and Antibes not to be missed! Warning; the roads leading to the villa can be narrow and steep (its in a beautiful mountainous area) . You get used to it after a couple of days, but would recommend taking the D roads that traverse the hills gradually, rather than the routes that look quicker as the crow flies! Only one suggestion- a sign to the property would make finding it easier. Thank you Liesel for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Fabulous location and great house.
Our first time to Riveloup - a wonderful, picturesque location - dramatic scenery with lots to do. The house very well equipped, very comfortable with a great new kitchen - double dishwasher - a joy for large numbers. Pool, boules, table tennis, swing, football pitch, sandpit and river all allowed everyone to relax and slow down. Liesel efficient and super friendly. Thank you so much - we loved it.

Vielen Dank!
