Nice Quiet Escape

Check-in process and communication with host was seamless. The home is older. But it offers a nice quiet oasis away from Albany and Troy. Deer and wild turkey roam the expansive area out back. The home had a nice new coffee maker which was a big plus for me. :)

Short Notice, Short-term Mountain Oasis

My family required a short term stay while an issue was fixed in our house. I contacted the owner of this property and he worked hard to ensure we could get in for a time period that worked for us and he did! The property manager was extremely communicative and was very knowledgeable about the property. She was also helpful when it came to check in/out times that worked for our family. Now the house....the house was everything we needed. It was like staying at my grandparents house in the BEST way possible! There were so many things to look at around the house, there was enough space to spread out but come together when needed. The views in October were some of the most intense fall foliage views I've ever experieced., And our family has already discussed returning on a yearly basis as a tradition! This house feels like you are secluded but you are 10 minutes from a grocery store and close enough that we commuted to East Greenbush, Albany and Latham areas with ease! I highly recommend this house for any family who wants a nice getaway in the mountains!

Last Minute Mountain Oasis

My family needed a place to stay with short notice for a short period of time due to damage in our house. We worked with the owner to determine what dates we needed and they even marked off extra days incase we ended up needing more time. This house was everything we needed. It was large enough that we could all spread out and my husband who leaves for work early in the morning could do so without bothering the rest of the household, or I could sit and work remotely without being bothered by the kiddos! The fall foliage was absoloutly beautiful, and we've discussed making it a family tradition to visit! The house directly overlooks the Albany skyline and you can also see the entire night sky. The house is cozy and obviously well loved. It has remained in the same family since it was built and it's the perfect place to get away, relax, explore, and feel like you're at "your grandparents house" in the most amazing way possible. Not to mention, there are so many cool things to look at in the house that I imagine even after a week we missed some! I think we pointed out new things to each other at least 3 times a day!! The communication with the local property manager was spot on. She was friendly, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The owner was also very helpful when we had to communicate with him. Overall, I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for a short or long term stay!

Great getaway, that's still connected

We used this home as a base camp to explore Albany and the surrounding countryside during fall colors season. The views from the home itself are gorgeous. The home was spacious and comfortable. The fast internet allowed us to take a few business calls during the stay. Clearly a lot of care went into this home. Everything is in its place. There is even a laundry chute. The woodworking throughout the house was unique. Our children (1 and 3 year olds) loved the downstairs bedroom with fire engine curtains and the children's toys including wooden trains and a sandbox/shovels in the yard. One odd item were the bathroom doors, which we couldn't figure out how to lock. It made taking a shower a bit awkward with little kids running around who love to open everything. Overall though, it wasn't a huge issue.

Very nice property great view.

For us the location and view was great. The house can use some upgrades. Shower doors upstairs are falling off. Toilets are 60 yrs old too low and too small. Some miner things like cable tv better lighting in kitchen. It was so hard getting into restaurants we ate allot at the house.
