Relax in a private hideaway-in-the-trees. This beautifully remodeled apartment above our garage offers peaceful, wooded views from every side making it a great place for resting, working, or wildlife watching. The Hideaway’s bright, open, studio-style space has everything you’ll need for a one-night retreat or a week-long escape. The upscale amenities include a brand new mini-kitchen stocked with the necessities, butcher block bar overlooking the wooded back lot, an office nook with a desk overlooking the front, a new, modern bathroom, and a 46” TV on adjustable arm for easy viewing or game-playing. The suite is comfortably furnished with a queen-size bed and a queen pull-out couch making it perfect for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, health care, and military persons but it can accommodate up to 4 when needed. The front door features an electronic keypad for self-check-in and easy entrance. Outside, you’ll enjoy a shared patio with comfy chairs and fire pit, a bbq grill, and a patio heater. The backyard offers a fire ring and plenty of firewood. There is ample parking for cars, a boat, and water toys.

The kitchen has a refrigerator, stovetop, toaster oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, electric tea kettle and is stocked with dishes and basic cooking utensils. You’ll have access to a washer/dryer, WIFI, and YouTube TV. We provide bed sheets, bath towels, beach towels, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, iron, hairdryer, some cleaning supplies, and a first aid kit. Chairs, cooler, and beach accessories, are available upon advance request.

Our central location offers quick access to local shopping, dining, entertainment, health clubs, parks, golf, pickleball, the ICW, and public boat launches. Hampstead is conveniently located halfway between Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach and Topsail Island/Jacksonville where there are many opportunities for indoor and outdoor recreation and relaxation year-round within a few miles. Fabulous hideaway in the woods

Great Relaxing Weekend

My friend and I did our yearly trip to get away from everything. This loft was perfect to just chill and relax. It was beautiful and Beth was an amazing host. It is located close to shopping and restaurants. It was a little bit a drive to beach access but worth it! All around great stay!

We had a wonderful, though short, stay in a quiet, peaceful location in Hampstead to visit our son and his newborn twins. The unit was clean, well appointed, and very comfortable. Our hosts were warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely return to the hideaway.

Cozy Getaway

The Hideaway had everything we needed for a weekend visit to Hampstead. The furniture was comfortable, the entire unit was spotless, the bathroom and kitchen were supplied with basics and more! Working visit

I visited to help my daughter in Hampstead, didn’t hike or use the porches. My stay was very comfortable; I slept well. The space was perfect for breakfasting, relaxing in the evening. I’ll definitely be back!

Quick trip

This was a one night stay to visit with a friend who lives part of the year in Surf City. The VRBO was very convenient to Surf City and was super cute. The bed and the pull out couch were very comfortable. The location and views great. Met the owner briefly during check in and felt very welcomed. She recommended a breakfast cafe that we went to on Sunday and enjoyed. Highly recommend this place. Would definitely rent again for a longer time.

Perfect getaway!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful place or the hosts, Kirk and Beth. If you’re looking for a quiet, cozy, immaculate place to stay, this is it! It is evident that a lot of love and care went into designing this amazing space. I took my 15 year old granddaughter for a few days to celebrate the beginning of summer. She said she could live at Hampstead Hideaway and that it was the perfect launching place for all of our girly adventures. I totally agree! We went to Topsail beach, Wrightsville Beach, and to the historic district of Wilmington for shopping. Beth was so thoughtful and offered suggestions for dining with a view and even researched options for us. She and her husband are incredibly kind and hospitable. We truly can’t wait to come back!

Originally from NC, I lived in NYC but landed in LA via NOLA where I met my husband at Jazz Fest. In 2018, our family spent two months on the road exploring this great country and pulled into Hampstead three weeks after Hurricane Florence had devastated the NC coastal areas. Hampstead was and is a very welcoming community. We experienced great kindness and generosity and want to share that same hospitality with others. Our family loves to travel, meet new people and hear about their life adventures. I am an event planner/organizer at heart and love to create comfortable environments and serve people. What better way than to offer visiting travelers a nice space to call home while away from their own. We invite you to come and enjoy our Hampstead Hideaway!
