A relaxing oasis where beach-boho meets mid-century modern! Jump in your car for a quick 10 minutes to the beach or curl up with a book by the solar-heated pool—we're all about relaxing at Coral Casita. You'll be in a tucked away, family-oriented neighborhood, with squashy pillows, cozy couches, and brand new beds from the supplier of beds to Walt Disney World's Deluxe Resorts. (Hint: if you sleep great at the Boardwalk or Old Key West, you'll love our beds!)
A coffee bar (k-cups and regular) and tea nook are at your service, next to a full (if snug!) kitchen. The pool is screened with a deeply shaded patio. This adjoins a large, partially un-fenced yard; great for a morning meander under huge laurel oak, avocado, and mango trees. If you need to get some work done, you'll find multiple laptop-friendly spaces including two dedicated desks in bedrooms. Appliances are new, with stainless throughout the kitchen.
Some of the things we love best at Coral Casita: grilling or napping by the pool, dashing to the beach for a sunrise or sunset, browsing Vero's awesome consignment/thrift stores, sipping tea on the patio while watching the hawks and ibis soar, watching the lizards zip around doing whatever lizards do, and looking up into the starry sky by night. We love getting citrus-vanilla ice cream at Countryside (a 12 minute drive), watching for rocket launches just up the coast (an hour plus), getting our Disney fix at Disney’s Vero Beach Resort Wind and Waves Grill (twenty minutes), or even driving over to Disney's Hollywood Studios for a quick flight on the Millennium Falcon (an hour and forty minutes, reservations required).
This is our home, but we clear everything personal out to the garage so nothing clutters your space. For this reason the garage is not accessible to guests, but there’s room to park one or two vehicles side by side on the driveway. (No on-street parking, please, and the limit on guest cars is two, per county regulations.)
Bottom line: If you prefer the freedom to be noisy as you like, the Casita won't provide the vacay you need (and deserve!) But if you crave peace and quiet, prefer books over TV, and want the amenities of a full home, Coral Casita is a great fit!
Good to know about Coral Casita:
• This is Florida, and with a water-flow easement twenty feet behind our fence, there’s wildlife. Outside the screened pool and house, there will be bugs and lizards and possibly other critters, so you must always close the doors to avoid visits by unwanted wildlife.
• The yard joins the neighbors’ yards. One neighbor has a large dog behind an invisible fence. We’re not the right place if you travel with animals. (Strictly no animals, due to a family member's COPD.)
• We’re on septic, so you can't flush tampons or “flushable” wipes, use bath oils in the bath, or send bacon grease down the sink. These can crash the system, and might mean vacating while repairs are completed.
• Our county (and neighborhood) takes noise seriously. Events/gatherings/parties by rental guests are ILLEGAL and heavily fined. With two sheriffs in the neighborhood, don't risk it. We monitor the property for noise.
• County quiet hours are 10:00pm-6:00am, with reduced noise from 8:00pm. Additional details available.
• County Health has licensed this property for rental use by six people, with no additional guests or visitors. The house is furnished accordingly.
• The AC unit will freeze up if run it below 72. If you need it really cold, the Casita is probably not a good fit for you.
• We have one 55” TV and no cable. Your Netflix, Disney+, etc. can connect with our Roku. There is no DVD player.
