Location not as described. Unable to lock door of unit. Did not receive access info until morning of rental despite multiple attempts. Locked out of unit without access to clothes and meds for more than 24 hours. Multiple attempts to reach property manager by me and VRBO unsuccessful until 5 minutes before leaving. Junkies wandering the streets outside. Windows had large gaps.. Unable to get refund for period I was locked out.
Stay was good and property was as expected, host was unresponsive to messages, took a few calls to initially get check in details, and luckily had no issues that required him

Fantastic Value
Overall condition of the property was a little below expectations. It is an old property in need of a lot of renovations. The shower situation which had a shower head with very little pressure, a bathtub that was small and a little challenging to get in and out of, and a shower curtain that did not quite do its job of keeping water from going everywhere. There was a washer dryer but it looked pretty old, was downstairs by the front door which may have been a common shared living space with others and appeared to be used by other people who were living in those adjacent areas. The neighborhood was a pretty run down neighborhood that was just in the beginnings of revitalization, however the location of the property was convenient, close to the highway, easy to get to and from, and was just a short drive to downtown New Orleans. Despite some of these concerns, for the price this place cannot be beat.
Nice location, easy access to Magazine St. and St. Charles Ave. Could easily accommodate two couples with spacious bedrooms. Kitchen needs a microwave. Overall a good experience.

Couples trip
I think if you are in the process of renovation it needs to be told. Bedroom door has no handle a floorboard missing in same bedroom. Not all the plugs worked in the kitchen. No curtains in the living area so everyone can see in. The cover on couch had big rips in it. When you first walk in the door there is alot of stuff at the bottom of the stairs. Which made the place look junkie. The owner really needs to take this listing down or clean it up alot.
I could knit-pick on a couple of issues, but, let me state right away that I would certainly stay again in this rental. The sun room ("the treehouse" room) is awesome. Having rooms on 3 sides on the 2nd floor was really nice.
The one thing that I would change is having a microwave added to the rental. New Orleans is all about the food, and having a way to better warm leftovers would be most appreciated.
Lots of little things wrong (missing door knob, burned out light in hall, non-working clock, etc.), but, none of that stuff matters in the grand scheme of things.
Owner was available quickly and responded to the minor issues. Prices were very fair.
Again, I would stay again.

Lotta potential here
the upper floor of the house where we stayed shows signs of a lot of hard work by the owner to update it. We expect it will only get better as those efforts continue. Since the inner doors don't lock (or even latch sometimes), there has to be communication on when to enter rooms (including the bathroom) to avoid awkward encounters. The kitchen is nicely updated and will be better as additional glassware is added. The window unit air conditioners in the bedrooms cooled the whole rental if the doors remained open. The sunroom is a great feature that will be even greater when the torn futon cover is replaced. Imagining more towels (including dish towels), hooks to hang garments and towels, a shelf by the sink to hold toiletries, mirrors in the bedroom for getting ready. All in all, this place is on the verge of being a really cool rental. Momentum is in your favor.
This is an old house with a lot of charm, it is refurbished but don’t expect perfection! There is a lot of room, there is a washer and dryer. No microwave or tvs on the other rooms just one on the living room/ balcony. I see this as part of the charm! A heater in the room would be nice for the cold days.
Though it was an old building, it was a cute and comfortable stay. For the price, you can't beat it!
Only thing I'd change is I wish it was a bit closer to some sort of transit.
The property was not ready for guests. The property sleeps four but the only towels were two bath towels and two wash cloths. No hand towels. The toilet wasn’t seated to the floor and wobbled. The shower was also wobbly and felt very unsafe to use.
The check in process was very poor with little direction.
