Loved this cottage. Its very cute and cozy. Directly on the water with a boat dock. There is a lovely little green area with a fire pit and a great little sandy spot on the bay. We could not have asked for anything more. The cottage itself is very nice, well decorated and well stocked.it was perfect, I can't stress that enough.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin is literally on the dock area and we could see the water while laying on the bed. Sunrises are amazing. The various small towns within driving distance were full of interesting sights and architecture - Prescott, Brockville, Smith's Falls, Perth, and a bridge across the border to Ogdensburg NY within view of our dock. In the main channel we were able to see the superstructures of several huge freighters, called lakers, on the other side of the adjacent island. Dale was helpful and told us about some of the history. This was a highlight vacation!
Amazing, tidy and well organized cottage.
The owners were vvery warm and prompt communication. We ean out of bottle water and gas tank and he promptly sent someone with it.
As per the outdoors, perfect quiet place for an enjoyable sound to birds and an incredible sunset and sunrise!
We'll definitely come back in summer time!!!
The house was great for our family of 4. We enjoyed exploring the little towns close by. Property was very well taken care of and had everything we needed!!
Enjoyed very much. Loved the place and watching the wild life. Would definitely like to stay again

We are writing this review so that others do not do as we did and assume this is a traditional cottage property. While there were some positives - general cleanliness and ease of communication with the renter - these were outweighed by the property not being accurately represented online. The property sits mainly on a concrete slab adjacent to an Ontario Hydro work site. There is some green space on the property, shared with an adjacent property owned by the renter’s family. The cottage sits on a small channel downstream of the Johnston Bridge that has a very strong current, making it unsuitable for children, older people or weaker swimmers. The nice, large deck does not have a railing, so monitoring children at all times is a necessity. We generally do not write negative reviews but felt that the property listing had obscured the issues noted above (for example, the photos as well as the text description) with the property and we would want to be fair to future renters that they knew what they were getting into.
Great stay at this compact cottage on the scenic St. Lawrence. Gorgeous dockside patio and fire pit right on the water allowed us to watch boaters going by all day. Excellent wifi and loved treats left by owners.
Very clean & all the comforts of home....only MORE!
Waking up to such beautiful scenery, sitting on the deck fishing, watching the otters play.....This cottage gets 5 stars from us! Definitely recommended for nature lovers! The fish were biting & we caught some black crappie! Lotsa fun!
Derrick is a GREAT host & we will definitely be returning!
Great property close to the city, couple minutes drive into town if you need or forgot anything. Beautiful view right on the water, stayed during the winter but would be amazing to go during the summer time. Property has everything you need for cooking, sleeping etc.
Our first impressions continued to be favourable. The state of the cottage was just as we had seen in the photos. As well, a warm fire awaited us upon arrival. The view of the river, from the inside of the cottage was unique and rare.
We had a fabulous time at the water's edge roasting marshmallows while lounging in the Muskoka chairs, secluded by the tall evergreen trees.
The Byrds (Derek in my case) were an excellent people and were great to deal with.
Last minute family issue, we never made it to the rental but Derek was helpful and understanding through the whole process. Excellent communication and answered email quickly.
My wife and I stayed here for a short 3 night vacation. Property was as advertised and Derek was very easy to deal with and responded quickly to any questions/concerns. Had a relaxing time, did some fishing off the deck and managed to catch a couple of 17 inch Bass just using worms for bait. Nice drive to Brockville and Gananoque using the old Hwy 2 and the Ivy Lea Parkway. Brockville is a beautiful small historic town and Gananoque has a Casino. Unfortunately we didn't win LOL
