The pictures in the listing are accurate when it comes to rooms, decor and views. It feels surprisingly spacious, given we had 4 adults, 3 children and 2 dogs staying as well as 2 local visitors. Walkable to parks and a nice restaurant. I'm from the area and appreciated location to the main shopping amenities in both the Jamestown and Lakewood areas. Beds were decently comfortable and we made use of all sleeping areas including the loft (best for kids). AC in bedrooms did the job. Greg was very communicative and helpful. Would definitely come back.
We had a great time. The deck certainly needs some attention ie:new paint along with the cleaning. Bathroom Tub and shower not cleaned very well nor the kitchen sink. Unfortunate the lake very low to dock our boat. That’s not their fault. Electric fireplace surely came in handy for the chilly mornings. Will truthfully consider coming back.
We were able to enjoy the fireworks from the back yard. Neighbors were friendly, plenty of parking, and towels.
The window venting for the individual AC units didn’t seal completely but it didn’t affect our comfort, just energy inefficient.
Overall great location for a relaxing hometown trip!
We rented this home to be closer to family in town. The views and sunsets were beautiful. My son had a great time fishing on the dock and caught several bass. We rented a pontoon boat and it fit perfect at the dock with no issues. The neighborhood is very quiet and overall was a great stay. Thank you.
Excellent views of the lake. Gorgeous sunsets! House has many nice features, but some finishing touches still needed. Coat rack needed by front door. Deck needs spruced up, but adequate. Grill also needs some attention. Deck table and chairs were very nice and having camping chairs supplied for firepit is a plus! Dock was great to have!!! Our dog LOVED going down the boat launch into the water. Overall was a good spot to unwind. We would come back again!
Beautiful view with gorgeous sunsets over the lake!
Greg was very responsive to any questions we had. My wife and I had a relaxing stay and would love to stay again in the future.
It was a very nice place right on the water. It was clean, and very quiet. The front windows in the kitchen really need something on the windows, as does the bathroom upstairs. Not the most comfortable furniture, but if you are not there much that does not matter. Had an issue with water leaking out from the dishwasher the whole time. Was told to just put towels down and it would be delt with after we departed. Overall, nice place!
My sister and I enjoyed our stay at this lake property! We’ve stayed at many places around Chautauqua Lake with other family members in the past and this one was the cleanest and very well-appointed. The lake view and sunsets were amazing! Communication with the owner was great as well. This property will be on top of our list for future trips!
Property had everything we needed for an extra long weekend.
Very clean and comfortable.

Over worked
Very quiet, slightly disappointed for the price I paid. The smell from the lakes was true from other reviews. Lots of beautiful waterfowl in the area. Ducks, geese, herons and more could be found next door of the floating dock.
It was a beautiful sunsets each night when not raining.
Usually there is a book with instructions and local ideas for food and activities in the area.
I understand this is a recent purchase for him and then COVID hit and he is making improvements as he goes, so next year might be better.
My husband and our two dogs enjoyed a wonderful stay (4 nights) at this property. The living room and kitchen were clean, inviting, and comfortable. The appliances were also in good working order. Greg was a gracious host and swiftly answered the few questions I had once we arrived. The star of the show, however, was the lake itself! It was so delightful to wake up and look out upon the shining waters just mere steps away from the cottage. We loved sitting out at night with the fire in the pit and listening to the frogs. The wildlife was also so much fun to witness. There was a mama duck and her 5 ducklings who came every day to feed in the shallow water. There were so many other water fowl as well. On our last day, two beautiful doe wandered down the driveway and into the neighbor's yard. Luckily, our dogs were inside sleeping, so they didn't scare the doe away!
Do I recommend this cottage? Yes! However in complete honesty, I will temper that with a couple of suggestions for immediate consideration. We had a lot of trouble with the sliding screen door onto the back deck. It kept coming off the track and needed to be rehung several times no matter how gingerly we opened and closed it. Also, I will add that the steps to the front door felt a little out of kilter. Especially when going down, make sure to hold on to the railing because one of the steps tilts forward just enough to make you feel unsteady for a second.
Having said that, we loved the vibe of the cottage. We truly did enjoy our stay and plan to book again in the summer of 2023.
While the inside of this property is nice, we were unable to go outside because of the smell and the water was disgusting, you could not swim in it or even sit on the dock. I grew up going to Chautauqua Lake so I know what it is like to swim in a lake, but where this property is located makes it impossible to enjoy your time outside. We paid for six nights but had to leave after two. No discount, no refund, we just were told the listing does not say anything about swimming. So, if you want to go to Chautauqua Lake to enjoy the lake, do not stay here.
This is a beautiful, well maintained cottage. We had all the comforts of home in a gorgeous lake side setting. We saw so many beautiful birds sitting right on our deck. Stores, restaurants, attractions were nearby but when you are at the cottage you are one with nature. Oh and the sunsets were spectacular!
Location of the property is good, on a quiet street. Great sunset views and lake views. We had our 24' bowrider which docked nicely, although the water is shallow and weedy, but we had no issues. There is plenty of room for a boat trailer and vehicle in the driveway. Restaurants and shopping are very close by. Overall a nice place to stay.
This is a nice cottage with lots of updates, nice fresh paint and awesome appliances. Greg was great to deal with. We were able to bring our two dogs and our 21ft fishing boat. The only concern we had, which Greg was upfront about, was the depth of the water at the end of the dock. As it turns out, that was not an issue at the end of May. We did however have an issue with the weeds in that end of the lake compromising the coolant-water flow through my outboard. We still had a good time catching big-@ss carp off the deck though so overall we had a great experience. The place is also incredibly close to the boat launch, Wegmans, Walmart, Home Depot and a bunch of other stuff.

Great sunsets
Older house, need updates, window screens. Sliding doors to the deck need repaired. More linens should be supplied. Dock should be in the lake not on the lawn.
But, overall, simply great sunsets!!
Very nice property with great views. When we couldn't find the bathroom light switch(its hidden!) The owner was quick to respond. Too bad we had so many bugs, but that had more to do with the time of year we were there, I think.
Beautiful house on the lake with 2 bedrooms and a loft with an additional bed. Designed beautifully so you can see the perfect sunset over the lake from anywhere in the house. Quiet street close to shopping. Nice outdoor deck and yard to relax and enjoy the incredible view. We will be back... often.
