Family-style get-away in French countryside

Stayed mid-May, 9 people/3 families. Quaint location in a small village (middle of nowhere, some 30’ west of Dijon), welcoming – if rustic – building, across the yard from a French Manor house. What to expect: Two large downstairs rooms with stone floors: - 1 day-room with enough seating and a huge working fireplace - 1 kitchen, very well equipped with all you might need for cooking. dining and sitting, allowing for nice meals as a family. Cooking together was also good. Doors and windows aren’t perfectly proofed against the outside. There are curtains over the doors and the rooms are pretty gloomy. The 3 bedrooms are all on the first floor accessible over a quite steep and narrow wooden staircase . All have a main and an upper floor (not separated by walls/doors/curtains, thus allowing for easy communication and less privacy), suited for families / friends who only want to spend little time upstairs. • the middle room suitable for 4 people (one large downstairs king bed, two beds upstairs); one very narrow bathroom, with good and fast heating, also separate toilet). Its window is actually a wooden board with two small glass wings in the middle, that don’t really touch. The curtains keep out the cold and the light. • two rooms for 6 people. Each have 2 baths, one toilet. The kids loved the upper sleeping floor. The beds are comfortable, good linen, rooms are well heated. We spent 4 days at the property, despite bad weather; longer would've been too long. Parking for farm and manor house is right outside the building, It’s a pity there’s no dedicated place to sit outside, you basically stumble into the car row. The hosts were well reachable and welcoming, communication was good. Natural and touristic sites as well as shopping possibilities are in a 30’-radius, definitely need a car to get to and from the village. The wine region (its top part) is about 25’ by car. We thought it was really expensive for what it offered also considering that no breakfast is provided, there’s no privacy in the rooms (lofts for groups of 4-6 people) and the facilities in the rooms/bedrooms are quite basic.
