Cute Cabin

The cabin was very cute and a short walk to the beach/waterfront. The beds had to be made upon arrival, and you had to bring your own towels, washcloth and kitchen towels. The beds were a little uncomfortable. We were asked to return bed sheets to the office and to clean afterwards which I thought was a little odd for only a two day stay. Overall, it is centrally located for sightseeing the cute little towns nearby.

Hags Getaway

My friends and I came up to Bailey's Harbor for the weekend and stayed in the Redwood. We had such a great time and Redwood is beautiful. The kitchen is very well stocked and there was plenty of room for the 5 of us. We plan to be back!

Fun for all.

My husband and I took our two toddlers and we wanted for nothing. Great time cooking our, playing in the play-set, swimming and peddle boating.

Wonderful Fall Getaway

We had such a wonderful time at the Redwood cottage. We brought 5 kids up with us and there was the perfect amount of space for us all. It was big enough that it never felt crowded and small enough that it felt nice and cozy. The cabin had everything that we needed and we really appreciated the small things like nightlights in important places and alarm clocks in the bedrooms. The grounds had so many things to do. Our kids loved the playground, the swing by the lake, and we all loved stargazing at night. This was such a wonderful place to spend a weekend with family and I hope that we'll be able to come back for a longer stay.

Great Family for a Gathering During Covid

There were 12 of us renting 4 cabins. We were able to enjoy the grounds, walk to Lake Michigan, campfires and gorgeous sunsets and keep our space. It was a perfect spot. Redwood was a very nice cabin. Only one on the grounds with cable. Well stocked and very comfortable. Would stay again!

Fall Getaway

This property was in great location centralized to many Door County sites to see. Clean and quiet with all the necessities in place. Plenty of room for everyone. Enjoyed our stay and would love to go back.

Had a great girls weekend celebrating my Birthday and enjoying Sister Bay Fest.

Everything was just as it was described. The cabin was bigger than we expected. The beds were very comfortable and the fireplace was cozy. Loved the lake and firepit.

Peaceful lake retreat

This cabin was the perfect place for a girls' weekend. We all enjoyed the time at the cabin and wished we had a longer time to spend. Everything we could ask for was there. Comfortable beds, a cozy living room and a large kitchen to make our meals. A fall weekend away was made even better by our surroundings. Several of.the "girls" talked about how amazing it would.be in summer with family.

Fantastic family stay

Where to start? My group (6 adults and 2 kids) stayed here over the weekend. We made use of the spacious kitchen and plentiful amounts of cookware and grill. The location is beautiful. My family is already making plans for a future stay here.

A Slice of Heaven

This is a wonderful place to get away with family and friends. East Shore Cottage is a perfect fit for 6-8 guests. The bedrooms were very nice. The living room is comfortable and the fireplace is an added bonus. The Kitchen is huge! We brought our own meals and found everything we needed. It's well stocked. Unfortunately, it rained all four days we were there, so we couldn't enjoy Kangaroo Lake which is a stone's throw away from the cottage. We will be returning next year!

great cabin but unable to communicate with any questions

The cabin was super nice but in the VRBO information it never said to bring our own sheets or towels. Links were sent to my app but there was no checkin information etc. The link said there was no information available and to try again. I tried several times then contacted VRBO both online and with a phone call and nothing was resolved so we arrived with no information except for what was listed on the VRBO property description. I have used VRBO many many times and sheets have always been included so I was shocked when there were none and was told I could rent them. I drove and bought sheets........Otherwise its a 5 star cabin but when I read the check out rules I was also shocked that we were basically asked to clean the cabin in preparation for the next guests! When we did clean we found cherrios and doritos in the living room which we did not bring with us . I am thankful that I did pack towels because I read that in someones review that there were no towels....however, no one mentioned that there would not be sheets ! sometimes I fly into a destination and I would never rent a unit if I would have to bring my own sheets. If you like cleaning and making beds on vacation then this cabin is perfect.

Little Bit of Heaven

We have been coming for 40 years. It has been a special part of my children life and now our grandchildren. We have always gotten a form from Trudy to hold a cottage for the next summer. We've been vacationing with our friends and family here since 1985. What more can I say.

Lots of improvements since our last stay in Redwood and Evergreen Cabins. It was cool this year and we used the cabins' heating. Worked perfectly. This year we had toddlers with us and made use of the small playground and outdoor games that were available. We have always enjoyed the old fashion and casual atmosphere of East Shorewood.

Spacious, pleasant property just right for a sibling holiday exploring Door County.

We enjoyed sharing the campfire at the lake with other vacationers. We took our 'music' (harmonicas and autoharp) down and played around the fire. Our only downer was trying to find the cottage the first night in the dark. Even our gps was stumped. The locals knew because so many others had knocked on their doors in the past. Get 'exact' directions and then enjoy a great place to stay. Thanks Trudy.

Great cabin, price and location!

This cabin is updated and very modern, located in the heart of Door County. We had four adults and two new borns in this cabin with plenty room! The cabin is fully furnished with all the kitchen/grilling utencils you'll need. Don't forget to bring coffee beans and bath towels; those were the only items we forgot! We'll book this cabin again and again and again. New family tradition!

Awesome!!!

We have been coming to Kangaroo lake for 10 years. Our first stay here was in 06 or 07 at the redwood. Our kids and daughter-in-law's got us this for Christmas this past year. What a great time to be had by all. We loved the updating since we were here last. The only downside was we had no hot water but we called the manager and she called the owners. They opened another cabin for us to use. We aere very well taken care of by management. We celebrated a birthday that weekend too. We have been very satisfied with all the cabins we have rented from east shorewood. Everything is always clean and ready to go. We love the fact that charcoal is now included and so is the t.p., paper towels etc....we absolutely love this cabin and hope to be returning in the coming years to make memories with our grand daughters. They loved the beach and the toys and the playground. Thank you East Shorewood for making this past weekend a wonderful time for us.

Great place

I almost hate to write this! I have been staying here for the past 4 or 5 years and have always felt its a little hidden gem. Everything is clean, its nice and quiet, Trudy the property manager is great, the lake is nice and clean, all and all there is nothing I can bad about this place. There are boats to use (no motors but paddles), a nice dock, a nice beach area, a fire pit near the water, a little playground for children, all the amenties that you need for a stay. I have stayed in many of the cottages they offer and they are all great and at a great value. A++++++++ Keep up the good work Trudy!

Amazing cottage with the amenities of home!

My wife and another couple stayed at Redwood for 2 nights on October. Upon arrival, we were blown away by how nice the cottage looked and felt. The large living quarters have the log-cabin feel but modern touches like a flat-screen TV with DVD player and Dish receiver (perfect for watching a game while away from home). The kitchen was fully stocked and offered well more than enough glasses and plates for what the cabin can sleep. Close to several wineries, and most anything in door county...oh, and the cabin's access to Kangaroo Lake with canoes and paddle-boats was excellent as well. Thanks!
