Lake Escape is a cozy cottage located in Union Pier, Michigan. It's just a short 1 1/2 blocks from Berrien Street Beach and beautiful Lake Michigan -- close enough so that you'll never miss a sunset! Take advantage of the nearby Whistle Stop Cafe and Red Arrow Roadhouse. And it's just a short drive to many other local favorites!

You'll enjoy all the comforts of home with three bedrooms (2 queen and twin bunk) and one bathroom (walk-in shower), washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen, dishwasher, Internet and cable (including MLB extra innings).

The cottage is a great stay for families with a large backyard area (shared with our co-op neighbors), a fire pit, gas grill and outdoor dining space. Take a soak in the private outdoor hot tub (open year-round!) and enjoy the stars to cap off a day at the beach or your time in Harbor Country. Make memories that will last a lifetime at Lake Escape...the beach is calling!

Wonderful
We stayed off season and the price was just right. Walking distance to beach, hot tub is awesome, back yard relaxing. Greeted with wine and a note, hosts were very reachable. Great weekend away

Great house, great location.
My cousins and i stayed here for our annual girls weekend and i was better than we expected. The photos don't quite do this place justice. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the house. It had everything we needed including pool/beach towels, robes for the hottub, washer/dryer etc. We got lucky with a warm weekend in march and were able to enjoy our drinks on the patio/deck. We also took full advantage of the hottub which was very private despite there being many houses & a restaurant basically all in the backyard. There is a large shared yard between all the cottages which could support all sorts of yard games. I liked it so much I booked it for my family (husband 2yo 4yo) for 3 nights this summer. The walk to the public beach was also surprisingly short - lets see how i feel about it with kids but I truly can't wait to come back! Thanks for hosting us!

Wonderful stay!
Everything at this rental way amazing. Clean upon arrival, perfect location, and a cozy vibe made this location a perfect choice. The host had the pack and play set up for our youngest ahead of time, which was super helpful. If we are ever back in this location we will return to this spot!

Family Getaway
Perfect for a quick family vacation to enjoy the beach, dunes, hiking, wineries, and just the home itself! The hosts provided a very nice welcome note with treats. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. We were able to walk to the beach and restaurants and just had short drives to everything else.

Girls Weekend
We usually go north for our girls weekend but switch it up this year to explore a new place. It did not disappoint the area is perfect and the house was AMAZING!! Easy checkin gave great recommendations and the house is perfect! All the decor was sooo cute and not only did they have well stocked kitchen but the whole house down to phone chargers for you could not have asked for a better place to stay so much so we want to come back to this house in future!

Cozy fall stay with incredible beach walks
Such a refeshing stay after a very busy summer and early fall. Even with all the activity around, the place was quiet. The area was nice for walks and we enjoyed the strolls along the beach as the sun sets. My wife told me on the last night that she was going to really miss the sunsets followed by time in the hot tub. It was a great trip and we really enjoyed being able to relax, recuperate, and reconnect. Thank you! Hope to be back soon.

Weekend Girls Trip
We had an amazing time at this property. So very clean!! The host has truly thought of everything to ensure guests are comfortable and well-cared for. From a small Bluetooth speaker to makeup wipes, and even plenty of towels and robes, no detail was overlooked. The kitchen was fully equipped, making our stay incredibly convenient. The home is just steps from the beach and thoughtfully provided insect repellent and sunscreen. Additionally, it's perfectly located next to the Roadhouse for late-night sliders and a coffee shop for morning brews. The hot tub was well-maintained and a fantastic way to unwind. We will definitely return to this wonderful getaway.

Perfect Little Cottage
This is our second time staying at this property which I think speaks for itself! There’s just enough space for kids to play inside and a spacious yard outside. The best aspect though is the proximity to the beach!

Great house for a vacation!
This was the perfect property for our family to stay at. We were able to easily walk to the beach with the supplied wagon carrying chairs and toys. This was also one of the cleanest properties we’ve stayed at, which is a huge plus.

1st annual coworker girls trip
Everything was absolutely perfect! We arrived late Friday to a lovely welcome note and bottle of wine from Tammy! The house was much bigger than I thought, SUPER cute! Comfortable beds, everything was clean! The kitchen was stocked with every gadget or utensil you could think of! I could have stayed for weeks just to read every single book that was there! The hot tub was an excellent addition to our relaxing stay! There were also so many small details that didnt go unnoticed, like the bin of "extras" incase you forgot a toiletry, make up makes and q tips (things people typically probably forget). Soo many games to play! I could honestly go on and on! The beach access was SO close and such an easy walk, restaurants within walking distance! Cant wait to go back! 10/10 definitely recommend

Perfect home away from home
We enjoyed our spring break trip to Union Pier! The cottage is so cute and cozy and has everything you need and more! We enjoyed beach walks, nearby restaurants and shops, blooming daffodils and hyacinth, soaking in the hot tub, and just having fun together as a family. What a great place to stay!

This property was perfect for our girls weekend. But could imagine it would also be perfect for a family summer vacation. The cottage is tucked away in a beautiful, walkable neighborhood, 5 minutes from the beach. The house had a stocked kitchen with everything you could need. It was clean and very well kept. In May 2000, we were married at a local inn (you'll pass it on the way to the beach) and Union Pier has held a special place in our hearts ever since. Nineteen years and three sons later, we were fortunate to purchase this cottage and are happy to share with our guests. We hope you enjoy the cottage and the area as much as we do!
