The overall place was very pretty. The beds were very uncomfortable and the place needed a deep clean.
Kari has done a great job with this cozy upstairs unit. It was spacious enough for our family of eight (including 6 kids 10 and under). Tastefully remodeled with cozy furnishings, and stocked with everything we needed, even with paper plates and plastic cutlery for easy meals outside. My kids LOVED the Legos, toys, and games. This was perfect for our big, fun family of children. We even survived a rainy day inside thanks to these convenient arrangements. Kari was incredibly responsive and accommodating in her communication, as well.
The only downside was the lack of access to the lake from the property, but even that was not a big problem. A boat launch is just a short walk away. And this was as advertised.
Thank you, Kari and family! We really enjoyed our time at your cozy place!

The house was clean, spacious and kitchen was very well equipped! There is an air conditioner in the living room area but the fans didn’t work the best to get the cool air to the bedrooms. Thank goodness for cool nights! All in all a very good stay.
Responsive owners of a clean, comfortable get-away
Inside of house is clean and updated. Owners have it well-stocked with blankets, paper products, some kitchen staples, some videos and rainy-day games. Bed was very comfortable.
Lots of times things go perfectly and you don't know how a problem might be resolved if one arose. So for me, it's even better to know that a problem is resolved well than to hear that there were no problems at all. We didn't discover until very late in the evening of the first night we were there that we had no hot water. We let the owners know (even though it seemed too late to me to bother them), and they had a plumber out first thing in the morning, even though it was a Sunday in the middle of a snowstorm. That's impressive!
We chose this home because we made the decision to take this vacation with little prep-time. Our intention was to hike and see waterfalls in Marinette County. This location was further than we had planned to be from Dunbar and Amberg, so some of our drives to the parks were longer than we hoped for. But it was a good choice to stay in this cabin because the place was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed having the view of the lake out the window.
I was a little bummed that the space between this home and the lakeshore was private property. I had assumed it was public access to the lake. On the other hand, the public boat launch is a very short walk (less than 1/4 mile away), so we could easily head out in an inflatable kayak, and we could sit on a nearby dock for lunch.
I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting in the area (unless you have a bum-knee and can't climb the steps).
Overall a great place to stay. We didn’t realize this is an upper unit. Cozy, modern and clean. Excellent communication with the host! Close to snowmobile trail. Trailer parking worked for two trailers (22 and 29 feet) but no additional space and we were right up to the road.
We stayed here for a long weekend to reset before school started back up. The weather cooperated most of the days, but even with a rainy day, we were able to make the most of it with a trip to town to visit the candy shoppe, a visit to the train depot just north, and finishing the day watching movies provided by the lovely hosts. The house was safe and functional overall for our kids aged 1-13, and was beautifully decorated. The Hosts were available if we needed anything, and the home was exactly what we needed to unplug and spend quality time together. We will definitely be back again!
This is a very nice propery. It is very clean and updated nicely. The photos do not do it justice. It is very spacious and has a great layout. There is a beautiful lake view that we enjoyed every morning and evening. Thebarea was very quiet. My children loved the bunk room and all of the games and toys. It is close to grocery, laundry and fun things to do. There are many lakes and ATV trails in the area. It is a great place for a family vacation. We would definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Lakewood! The House is immaculate with all brand new finishings. The kids loved the bunk room and there was plenty of room for all of us to enjoy meals in the kitchen, or lounge in the living room. The property is located near Chain Lake- which is a small lake, but very clean. While we would have preferred an option to dock our boat, taking it in and out every day wasn't too bad and gave us the opportunity to explore other lakes in the area. We recommend Bass Lake, about 15 minutes away, which has a great swim beach and is a little bigger than Chain Lake. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby- wish there was a bike or walking lane as many are situated on a highway, so walking wasn't an option. But that doesn't take away from the appeal...again, the property is perfect for a group and the hosts were incredibly responsive to all our questions. We hear A/C is in the works and this will really put this home at the top of our up north destinations!
Stayed for a weekend fishing trip for a group of 7. Plenty of room, clean home, WiFi, Parking fit three trucks and 3 boats. Owners were easy to work with and great communication.

My husband and I are raising 3 boys that love sports and anything to do with the outdoors. Not only do we love our cabin but we also camp a lot as a family and travel whenever we can.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with the location of the cabin in its approximation to Chain Lake and other surrounding lakes as well as UTV/snowmobile trails. We have always loved the Lakewood area and can't ask for a better location. Also the beauty of the inside of the cabin and the potential it had to make it our own!!! This has been a dream of ours and now we want to share it with you.
