About this property

Tranquil Cabin near lakes & ATV trails

Our 1300 sq foot vacation house provides privacy with 20 acres of woods to explore and is property adjacent to National Forest. The home will accommodate 8 people comfortably with 2 bedrooms (1 queen & 1 full) upstairs and a large bonus room downstairs (1 full, 1 twin & twin bunk beds). There are 2 full baths that are located upstairs (with tub) & downstairs (shower). Features kitchen stocked with everything for your cooking needs- including double oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots/pans, & serving ware. There are 2 TV's; one in the living room (smart tv, antenna for local channels & Blu-ray) & in the bonus room (tv & dvd player). You can watch streaming services upstairs if you have a hotspot on your phone (no wifi or internet).

We are near the Oconto County ATV trails (2 min ride down the road on ATV) but close to the Langlade & Forest county systems too. Whether you want to explore the beach right down the road at Oughton Park (Big Pickerel Lake) or the many lakes in the area (Townsend Flowage is close also), you can't go wrong.

Our cabin is also close to many local conveniences and attractions. Lakewood has a public library, SuperValu, candy, ice cream & coffee shops plus a Winery! Or you could drive 7 minutes north to test your luck at the Potawatomi Casino in Carter.

Even with all that you can just relax on our large wrap around deck and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife. We'll provide the wood to burn during your stay so you can roast marshmallows in the fire pit. You can also use our charcoal grill for dinner (you will have to bring the charcoal though). We can't wait for you to kick back and enjoy our home away from home!

*We are a pet friendly home however due to our pet's age, we are not allowing pets at our cabin this summer. Thanks for understanding!

Atv weekend away

It was a very nice place, we went for a weekend away to go ride the trails with the atvs and utv. It was clean and the kitchen was stocked with the dishes and utensils we needed. The owners were very responsive of any questions we had and we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend for a nice place to stay.

Great location!

As with all places, there are pros and cons. There are definitely more pros than cons when it comes to this property, but both are worth mentioning. Pros: * Great location!! ATV trails are very close, along with nearby grocery store, winery and hardware store. * Plenty of wood provided for outdoor fire pit. * Great communication with owners! They were very receptive and prompt with any questions we had. * The porch was perfect for rainy days. We could still sit outside and play games. Cons: * My biggest complaint would be the dog hair and slobber. When the property listed "no pets" we made the assumption the owner also did not have a pet. There was dog hair on the bed sheets, dresser and in the washing machine, and dog slobber on the oven door and patio door. If someone has an allergy to dogs, they should not stay here. * Not a huge deal, but if you are going to list a Blue Ray player, please make sure it works. Luckily there as a backup DVD player. (we had a lot of rain) * I often get cold, I could not find any extra blankets for the bed. Each bed has a fitted sheet and a thin comforter. Luckily it was just the 2 of us, so I could steal a blanket off the other bed. Overall, besides the weather not cooperating as we had hoped, it was a nice stay and I would stay at this cabin again; I would just bring my own sheets.
