This property is a gem and Lorry’s communication is great! We would definitely stay here again given the chance to return to this area! If you’re looking for some enjoyable, private R&R, this property is perfect.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Sitting on the dock, eating fresh seafood, getting our dog Buddy to the beach. It was a great getaway for some rest & relaxation. We would definitely stay here again. Lorry & Michael are excellent hosts.
Went on a weekend get away, good for a lay over or 3 day weekend. The place is how it’s displayed. Everything was close by. The Kayak(s) were a very nice touch to explore the ocean right out the back door. We were able to see a few stingrays and fishes. The host was great, response time was very quick. Lovely people.thank you all for everything.
Spent most of the time enjoying the location and swiming in the lagoons perfect mix of salt and none salted water, when we werent in the water we were fishing or eating local foods. All of which were amazing experiences and Lorry made it so easy. Will definitely come back here!
Great location for easy access to the calmer side of Pensacola, and also very near Perdido amenities. The apartment is on the ground floor, no steps to enter. It is really special to have beautiful grass, private sand, and the calm waters of the lagoon in your backyard.babackyard.
The beach bungalow was small and cozy. Perfect for out family of 4 and 2 pugs. Neighborhood was quiet. There's a 200 feet dock where you can walk with our pugs and watch into the waters for fishes, stingrays and crabs. The girls love that there was a small sand area where they can search for hermit crabs. Only thing is, there's no wifi even though the TV was connected to the internet. Minus that we would likely stay here again.
The bungalow was the perfect getaway! Being directly on the bay with a pier. The water was shallow offering the perfect view of all the bay has to offer including stingrays. It was a great couple of days with my son being able to experience the ocean sea life.
We enjoyed staying here and it was great that it is dog friendly. If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay and also see the blue angels as well this place is a great place to stay!
Our family had an amazing time here. It's quiet and peaceful. Just what we were looking for. Plus we could see the Blue Angels practice from the dock. This place is a must!!
I stayed here with my two kiddos and we absolutely loved it. The bungalow was super cute and comfortable, the kids loved playing in the water and jumping from the pier. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and we had everything we needed. Groceries, public beach, state park, shopping, all just a short drive away. Would definitely stay again in the future.
If your idea of camping is in a luxury category then this place is for you! The location and the house are absolutely magical, you have a small shallow water private beach, a very long dock, you can have a private dinner, a nice cigar, or a glass of champagne while enjoying a stunning sunrise or sunset. This is also perfect for well behaved pets, we had a 6 months old Cane Corso and he absolutely loved the shallow water, this place is a little piece of paradise if you treat it as such. Inside the unit was very clean and had everything we needed. Owners are awesome and were a pleasure to deal with. We wish the weather was a little better during our stay, besides that this place is perfect and we would love to stay here again for a longer period of time. Thank you again to the owners for sharing their place!!
The property was exactly as described and exactly what we needed for our Blue Angels weekend getaway! We were so excited when we saw a ray and dolphin swim by and watching the pelicans dive for their breakfast was an unexpected treat! The location is in a wonderfully quiet neighborhood super close to everything including NAS Pensacola. The owner even recommended an art festival in downtown Pensacola which turned out to be another phenomenal find!
We loved that we had a nice quiet place to stay. We enjoyed the kayaks very much and our dog was very happy playing in the water. Nice quiet neighborhood and very beautiful view of the water. The peir is long amd gives an excellent view of sunrises and sunsets.
My daughter and I stayed 8/7-8/10 and had a great time. The home is near to anything you may need. Johnson Beach National Seashore is right around the corner and is a great place to enjoy the beach for $25 per car per week. The dock out back is great for fishing or laying on late at night to have at the stars and count shooting stars. The Milky Way is visible in the night sky as well. It's just gorgeous. Lorry is a great host and is very easy to communicate with.
They have a beautiful place and an Awsome dock if you are in to fishing it was excellent my son and I caught a variety of fish from sea trout to pin fish and lady fish! The host live right above so if you need anything they are there to help! They are super friendly and love being able to share their home!
The Big Lagoon may be our new favorite vacation spot! So much fun discovering all the sea life around the dock, we saw sting rays, a manta ray, so many crabs, a couple jellyfish and dolphins!! The kids loved snorkeling and kayaking and our furry baby loved chasing lizards! Very dog friendly area with so many restaurants and beaches that allow dogs! Although we found ourselves not wanting to leave our own private oasis! Hosts are amazing and friendly but definitely make an effort to stay out of your way and let you enjoy your family time. We will definitely be returning!
I’d give 4.5 starts if I could just because we arrived to a dirty bathroom. But a quick message to Lorry is all it took and it was remedied before we got back from the grocery store. The rest of our stay was absolutely amazing. It felt like we had the whole neighborhood to ourselves. Barely saw anyone especially out at the water. The forecast was all rain but we barely had any. Kayaked to Johnson beach for a nearly private beach experience. Saw several dolphins and a couple close encounters. Tons of rays off the dock and my hubby caught several good fish- would have kept and eaten like kings if he had brought a filet knife! Mangrove snapper, trout, catfish, Spanish mackerel and more! Evening was the best fishing for him. The beach area was perfect and the two palms at the side cast perfect shade. The Murphy bed was surprisingly comfortable. It’s pet friendly which is a negative for me but my allergies didn’t bother me and we didn’t notice any pet smell. Maybe just a little dog hair in the corners. I just can’t say enough good about it. A few small details I’d change if it were mine, but all in all- I hope to stay again and highly recommend!
OK...where to begin:
To start with, we arrived late, with no issues getting settled onto the property. We've never stayed in one of these types of places before, and always stay at a resort or hotel, so we were not quite sure what to expect.
This property owner basically suppies things that you would use on a vacation on their property, starting with a fully stocked kitchen, complete with cooking utensils, pots, pans, baking sheets, plates and eating utinsils.
We took toilet paper with us only to find they left five complete rolls in the bathroom, along with hand soap, an assortment of wash cloths and towels, and some toiletries (if we had forgotten shampoo or something).
Under the sink we found cleaning suppies to take care of countertop spills or washing dishes, along with a couple rolls of paper towels.
There was a small selection of spices in the kitchen cabinet to include salt/pepper.
Television was equipped with ROKU, and allowed us to watch a wide selection of shows in the evenings or during morning breakfast.
The murphy bed was memory foam, which was one of our concerns before we arrived, but since we sleep on memory foam at home, it slept great!
Outside, the dock area provided a great place to relax and fish in the mornings and afternoons. Coffee in the mornings was great, and a cocktail in the evenings just as enjoyable. The bathroom shower is fantast on water pressure and temp.
I highly recommend this property, and the owner's thoughtful attention to detail!
The property was so peaceful. We were very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed viewing all the marine life around the dock. The kayaks on site were a great addition so our kids could paddle across to Johnson Beach with us. We’ll definitely stay here again. This place was perfect for us…ignore the negative review from May… this is a great find.
