Head down a scenic gravel road to find this completely remodeled, allergy-free, lakefront home nestled in the trees. This gorgeous villa is the picture of luxury and convenience, with hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the back deck. Summer visitors will love spending time on the private beach (on the private and warm side of the lake!) and taking the provided kayaks and stand-up paddleboards out for lazy afternoons on the lake's sparkling water!

Inside, 3,000 square feet of living space spans three well-appointed levels, perfect for families and get-togethers with friends. Enjoying a circular layout around the staircase, the first level is open, spacious, and ideal for older kids to hang out in, with a dining table, a private pool table, and a comfortably furnished entertainment area with a mounted TV and a gas stove. At the far end, you'll find a bathroom featuring a walk-in shower, a vessel sink, and the home's laundry room housing the private washer/dryer. The lower level also has access to a private patio boasting a comfy hammock steps away from the home's 120-foot stretch of private beach.

Head upstairs to the second-level living area featuring access to the furnished deck, a grand entertainment space crowned by a handsome gas fireplace, and lots of natural light cascading through huge floor-to-ceiling windows. The full kitchen is equipped with everything you need, from ample granite countertops to stainless steel appliances, including a French door refrigerator, to turn out tonight's home-cooked meal for everyone. Hot-weather meals are best when enjoyed alfresco on the furnished deck, and you'll even have a private gas grill available to throw a little char on today's freshly caught fish. Let the dishwasher knock out all the dirty plates while you spread out some board games, stream your favorite movies and shows, or enjoy a good film plucked from the DVD library. At the far end of the second level, the front-of-house mudroom has a comfy bench and plenty of hooks to hang your winter-wet clothes on.

Upstairs, you'll find a lofted sitting area with a private library and a Papasan chair. A spacious sleeping area also enjoys an A-frame ceiling, a skylight, and a bathroom with a jetted tub, a walk-in shower, and a skylight. Your summer guests will love the home's central air-conditioning during the day and the firepit for those evening s'mores sessions. When you're not splashing around in the lake, challenge a friend to a game with the driveway's basketball hoop or a game of cornhole. Have a little work to do during your stay? The home's free WiFi makes working and studying from the lake possible.

Coyote Hole Ciderworks is just 10 miles north, with cider-tasting tours, food pairings, and fun events like outdoor movies and festivals!

Peaceful getaway

A lovely house, nicely decorated, comfy furniture and beds, new bathrooms. Plenty of outdoor seating, including on the dock and firepit. Well-stocked kitchen. Great location, quiet private cove, lots of shady trees, warm water for swimming, very few boats/jet skis going by (though this is off-season). Really, really quiet. Looks like good fishing as well.

Beautiful and relaxing lakehouse

The house is spacious and situated in a gorgeous private setting. The views to the lake were better than the photos indicated and the living room furniture was particularly comfortable. This cove part of the lake is exceptionally calm and perfect for fishing and kayaking.

Weekend Getaway

Loved the house - clean and spacious! Location was about 20 minute ride to restaurants and breweries/wineries. Lake access was perfect for our family to enjoy privacy and try new things, like paddle boarding. Unfortunately, we were there during Tropical Storm Debby. We lost power around 10pm. House was equipped with four lanterns, however none had batteries. We were lucky our phone flashlights had enough charge to get us through a few hours until power was restored.

2nd time at the Hidden Gem

Overall, I was very pleased with this property. It was the second time that we have stayed at the Hidden Gem and Vacasa. The house is in a great location on the warm side of Lake Anna. It is well maintained and well equipped. It is off the main road a good distance and and has plenty of lake frontage. It was nice they had provided kayaks and paddle boards to cruise around the cove. The cove itself is very quiet with little to no boat traffic. I highly recommend this to a family that is looking to get away from the hustle of the main lake. My only disappointed is that we did not have any access to the community area to launch our boat.

Wonderful Week at Hidden Gem

Our week at the lake house was absolutely incredible. The property was very well maintained. Our kids had a blast fishing, swimming and paddle boarding. The house is in a very quiet neighborhood that is off the beaten path. It truly felt like you had a great deal of privacy. The house was clean and inviting. We hated that we had to leave, but all good things must come to an end. We can’t recommend this place enough, just a fantastic overall experience.

Spring Getaway

The drive in is quite lovely, once you explore the house and property it's easy to see it's charm and appeal. A bit of a snafu with the check-in process due to tech issues but fishing on dock made up for it while we waited to maintenance to help us get in. The house is decorated and stocked well, if you're a big cook, the kitchen satisfies everything you'd need to do enjoy those big group meals. The weather was perfect, most spent the day fishing and paddling boarding in the lake, the small beach provided a great spot to sunbathe and wade into the lake. Overall a great house, great service by management and hope to re-book again in the future.

Don't book if there's snow

There's nothing wrong with the property itself, it's beautiful. This 1 star is about the failure to disclose important information. We travelled several hours to get to this vrbo and unfortunately had to leave after the first day. The vrbo listing fails to mention that the only access road to the property has several very steep hills and doesn't mention that those hills don't get plowed or salted when there's snow/ice. When we drove to the property, we drove down the hills and stayed there a couple of hours until we tried to leave for dinner. When we attempted to leave, our rear-wheel-drive rental car stalled on the snow/ice and couldn't make it up the hills. It took over 30 minutes of rolling back down the hills and driving like a crazy person to get enough speed to get over each hill (this is a tight road with trees all around). I also had to dig through the snow to find rocks and gravel to put on the hills. We eventually got out. The problem was that we could barely get out with the temps being in the high 40s and low 50s. The next day called for rain and snow for several hours and temperatures dropping to the 20s and 10s for a couple days. Figured it wouldn't be possible to get out when the rain and snow froze the next day. We had our kids and my wife is a high risk pregnancy toward the end, so getting stuck was not an option. Your ad needs to disclose that the only way in/out is through these hills and that they may not be plowed or salted.

Easy Lake vacation

We were fortunate to book this house for three nights during the week so it felt like a private resort. The property is beautiful and quiet. The house is clean and well laid out. We were four adults but could have added another couple comfortably. There are a variety of areas to kick back and relax outside as well. A large back deck (where we ate outside several times), the entry porch, or the boat dock. We loved using the kayaks and the paddle boards. The only disappointing aspect was getting in when we arrived. The entry code did not work and it took several tries before the management company was able to give a code which worked. In addition the Wi-Fi log in and password were incorrect. Luckily some other prior guest had it written down on a card near the entry table. Beds could use new mattresses. Overall we had a great few days and would definitely go back.

Beautiful home!

The good: The house and property is absolutely gorgeous. Nice quiet, private lot with room for many outdoor activities. The house is huge with plenty of room for everyone to have their own spaces. The private beach is perfect for the little ones to play all day. 15 minute drive to Food Lion. The not so good: kitchen is lacking decent cookware and cooking utensils. Pots and pans are in bad shape. Only dish soap for hand washing is provided, no dishwasher soap even though they request you to run the dishwasher at checkout. No laundry detergent provided even though they request to wash the towels at checkout. Overall though, a great property and would definitely recommend and stay here again!

Your ad needs to disclose that the only way in/out is through these hills and they aren't plowed or salted. Older folks will get hurt.
