Nice Location, Shower Broke but Host kept in contact!
The visit was good, but our shower would not drain the first day so we couldn't use it the second day, luckily the host let us use another place/shower right next to our place. The shower is very small even if it had worked. The host did a great job keeping us updated and answering our questions. It is a good location and we could walk to all the shops.
We loved the location of this stay and the host was great at communicating with us when we had questions. The only thing we didn’t love was the bathroom. I completely understand that this is a historic property but as someone who is 5’4”, the shower head was at the strangest angle with not much room to move around. We also had to kill several spiders in the bathroom and there was a good bit of leaking water and woodrot on the floor and baseboards.
My college roommate and I met up for a girls’ trip reunion that included my 50lb ball of fluff. Having a dog along, I was looking for ground level, large, and pet friendly. This property was all of that and more. After booking, we found out we were going to need to check in very late, so I contacted the host. The response was quick and friendly. While chatting, we realized I had stayed at one of their properties just before the Hurricane Michael evacuation … and lost my car keys- an ordeal through which she had gone above and beyond as a host to organize help to get my keys found or replaced and me (and my dogs) on the road to safety! Talk about a reunion!
Directions etc. arrived in my inbox super early on the morning of the trip. When we arrived, lights had been turned on and everything readied to make a late arrival easy. (As the driver, I appreciated the convenient, dedicated parking). In the mornings, I loved walking the grounds with my dog and heading out the back gate to explore Chestnut Street Cemetery. It really felt like having my own historic tiny house in Apalach! The business portion of downtown was a short, easy walk of a block or two. We enjoyed the pet friendly shops and restaurants and the easy drive to St George Island. The only things I might would change about this stay: the bath was a bit small for two women trying to get ready each day (historic home baths usually are) and the visit was just too short! Will definitely be back!!! 😃
We visited to attend a wedding in Apalachicola, & this spot went above & beyond our expectations! Beautiful inside & out! The private courtyard made us feel like we were in New Orleans! Also, the location is perfect and close to the downtown area. We will definitely stay here again!

Comfortable Setting but not the cleanest
The carriage house was comfortable for a few nights, good supply of coffee, teas. There however was alot of cobwebs, spiders in the bathroom and the shower was only good as long as you were a shorter person. Also the courtyard area needs some work to remove the overgrowing from the trees and would be nice if you didnt look out the window to a bunch of workers materials, ladders and what was probably the owners storage unit.
On site parking, close to town and a great property. Room was spacious and well-appointed. Clean, spacious and we parked just feet away. Highly recommend.
The carriage house was a great place to stay for the weekend. It was clean, comfortable, quiet, and convenient. You can just park your car at the house and walk to nearby shops and restaurants. Apalachicola is laid back and safe.
There are also many things to do and see in the area.
The bed in this place was soft and amazing, the air condition was nice and cool, but the shower was quite small.
The property manager was available and friendly.
I will definitely stay here on my next visit!
This VRBO was adorable! Location was perfect to town. It was in walking distance but we didn’t walk because of the heat. They had everything we needed! We would definitely stay again.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights and we really enjoyed our time! The location is perfect; easy walking distance to downtown Apalachicola and only a 15 minute drive to the beaches of St. George Island. The cottage was just as adorable as pictured and the bed was easily one of the most comfortable beds I have stayed in at a rental! We would definitely stay here again!
Home is so beautifully decorated and the host was very gracious to let us arrive a little early. Location was perfect to get to all the cool shops and wonderful restaurants.
My husband and I made a last minute decision to travel for a few days and we are so thankful we found this little gem! It was just as quaint as the pictures show. We were very pleased. The kitchen area was stocked with plenty of coffee and some quick breakfast bites. The communication with Lauren was superb! She was very quick to respond with some excellent dinner recommendations. It was an easy 20 minute drive to the beautiful beaches of St George Island and within walking distance to anywhere you would want to go in adorable Apalachicola. We would not hesitate to return here and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Apalachicola.
The location was fabulous a short walk to everywhere. Charming little yard area. Perfect amount of cozy and charm. Bed was super comfortable. The staging makes the best outta the space, and very modern beach cottage vibes.
Water was little sulfury, which I'm sure is common, plus we were right close to many stores for supplies and food . The shower was a bit small but it did the trick. Everyone we encountered was pleasant and helpful. And we were so pleased to have found this little gem.
We did enjoy our stay and would consider staying again, however there are a few issues. It should be noted that there is a dwelling overhead and one could hear people and their dogs moving about. The bathroom needs some serious attention. It was not very clean and there were spiders and insects everywhere. (I know it’s the south, but I live in the south too) There is absolutely no place to hang a towel or set your toiletries. We were surprised that we were asked to strip the bed and the wash the dishes prior to leaving. Finally, as you enter the carriage house there is a space on the right that appears to be a screened porch it would serve the owner/manager to either block it from the view or clean it up so the curtains could be opened for more light.
On the positive, the bed was marvellous and the space was tastefully decorated. The eating area had all we needed. Parking was perfect and the outside seating was a lovely space even though the weather was not.
All in all, the place is very nice and we had a wonderful weekend.

High potential missed the mark
Great location!!! Cute carriage house with huge potential but needs some upgrades.. bathroom is unacceptable for this nice of property. Shower is a tiny fiberglass stall that leaks and has wood rot… we arrived in the evening and in the morning opened all the curtains to see junk stored behind the windows and little light… no closet or hooks to hang anything….
This place has soooo much potential …
We enjoyed the area and walked everywhere .
Nice location and cute property. Visitors should be aware that ALL the shops in downtown Apalachicola are closed on Sunday. It's unfortunate. We were looking forward to checking out the town.
