My husband and I enjoyed the warmth and gentility of The Law Building during our recent five day visit to Natchez. We loved being surrounded by the books, art, fine furniture and beautiful collections. The private courtyard is a whimsical jewel. The kitchen is fabulous. The Law Building is conveniently located within walking distance of excellent restaurants and historic sites. Mr. Richard and Mrs. Barbara quickly responded to our messages. Check-in and check-out were simple. Parking couldn't have been easier. This property is especially well-suited for folks with joint problems--no steps and grab bars in the bathroom. We highly recommend it!
We stayed in "The Law". We were very pleased with the spacious rooms and all of the personal touches. Richard is a wonderful host who was very personable and communicated clearly. We visited Natchez with our long time friends and we all found the home to be quite comfortable. The kitchen was well appointed with dishes, cookware, etc. The special touch throughout the house is the history and stories behind the various artwork or collections. It was in a great location downtown which allowed us to walk to many of the sites in which we were interested. We'll definitely stay here again on any future visits.
Great property! Such a nice property to enjoy a wonderful little city. This property was clean and owner was very responsive and friendly! Didn’t realize how many amenities this property offered in initial booking, from the historical charm to the beautiful courtyard. Would recommend this property!!

Beautiful home with many memories and a great story inside. Location is excellent! Comfortable no issues. Would highly recommend!
We loved staying here. The host has left a lot of their family pictures and other history. It was nice to look at the old pictures and other items. He was very responsive anytime we had a question. It was a wonderful place to just get away and enjoy.
My sisters and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at The Law Building. We loved perusing all the different collections on display in the building. The courtyard was a treasure. We enjoyed coffee out there in the morning, and wine with a board game in the evening. The quirky arrangement of rooms, having been converted from law office to apartment, simply added to the charm of the building. Our stay was comfortable with plenty of room for the 3 of us. The building sits in the last block from the river of the historic downtown area, but very much in walking distance to everything downtown. We walked to restaurants, antique stores, art galleries, Saturday farmers market, and the Mississippi River. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay at The Law Building again.

Beautiful place with stories to tell. If only those walls could speak. The courtyard is absolutely amazing with THE most comfortable swing I have ever sat in. Great location for the amenities downtown as well as easy access and a quick drive to the newer part of town. The hospitality we received from our host was amazing. We will definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this place.
The property was awesome. EXTREMELY convenient to everything we wanted to do. Richard is very responsive to messages. We have stayed with Richard before and will stay again.
We sincerely enjoyed our stay at the Law Building. It was fun exploring all of the antiques throughout the house. Our only complaint was the music/partying coming from the bar across the street and cars/people in the street. Our walls were rattling until close to 3am on Saturday night, made it very hard to sleep.
The location was great, and everyone was very friendly.
Wonderful stay! Loved the location in the historic area. We all enjoyed visiting the area and the history. Will come back.

Natchez is a great place to visit
This is a review of The Law, one of three contiguous properties operated by the same VRBO host, Richard. Check-in with Barbara, manager of Lower Lodge Antiques next door to The Law, was extremely smooth. Both Richard and Barbara were helpful and efficient countless times during my several week stay. I was disappointed when I learned at check-in that this is a one-bath property, not one and a half bath as I mistakenly believed when making the reservation. I would not have made the reservation had I realized there is only one bath as I had some guests while staying at this property. Another disappointment was the unwelcome surprise that long-term guests must do their own cleaning and linens at this property or arrange for, and pay, additional for those services! Perhaps that is why my pre-check-in query about linen service and cleaning frequency, went unanswered. Granted, the discounted price for long term stays is nice. The courtyard is large, inviting, peaceful and attractive. Off-street parking is a real plus. Natchez is a wonderful destination. The visitor center is very helpful.
Step back in history in this townhome filled with unique collections that add to the character of the home. Quite comfortable with access to an outdoor courtyard. Walking distance to coffee shops and other restaurants & shops. A must stay when in Natchez.
My husband and I spent a long weekend at The Law. The property and Natchez we’re unique and rich with history. It was clean and comfortable. Perfect to relax and enjoy a peaceful weekend.
Very tidy & clean, enjoyed the beautiful courtyard, bed was so soft & comfy! Enjoyed looking at all the pictures throughout apartment. We had a great trip!

About the host
Hosted by Richard Branyan
This apartment was my Mother’s home for 18 years. It still contains most of my mother’s collections and family items.
It still feels like a family retreat and it is still used by my family when they visit.
Much decluttering was done - but my mother was a collector for all of her 89 years !
Why they chose this property
I opened an Antique Store on Franklin Street in 1987 - in 1989 it was in this space. In 1992, we moved the store next door and my Father moved his Law office into The Law! It was a Law office till 2002 when it was converted into my mother’s home.
It opened as a BnB in 2021
What makes this property unique
Several great personal collections. Spacious layout and a beautiful large secluded courtyard. Safe off street parking and an onsite owner. We also have an onsite manager during business hours. Lots of TV’s and fast internet!
