Very nicely remodeled log cabin located on a secluded cove of an Adirondack lake. Close to town but off a main highway. Excellent paddling location on a large lake with limited motor boat traffic both in numbers and size (under 10hp). Only downside is they don't allow pets.
Clean and very well supplied, We were impressed from the moment we drove up to the house; well situated, suffiently away from neighbors, beautiful flowers and tress lining the property. Lots of fun decorations abound inside.
Easy access to the water with our own kayaks was exactly what we were looking . Unfortunately, the power outage abrieviated our stay but Joe made everything right with us. They also found and mailed an IPAD left behind. thank you so much.
Your Adirondack home is more than we could have imagined. The home, setting, cleanliness, hospitality, and area were just what we were looking for in a getaway with our college boys! We hiked, fished, paddled, played games, shopped, toasted marshmallows, and watched movies (on the rainy nights)! We loved the hike to the top of Moxham Mountain and Blue Mountain. We shopped at Lake Placid, ate subs from Pig Deli, loved the general store and antique shop in town, had ice cream in Long Lake, and caught huge pike right in our backyard...and the loons were beautiful! We thank you for all the great memories in the Adirondacks!
Peaceful setting in a comfortable, well-equipped house right by a lake. Lots of wildlife to watch right from the living room, back deck or from the floating dock. Great kitchen with everything you could need to make nice meals, also outdoor grill and seating. Access to canoes and kayaks if you feel the urge to get on the water. Much privacy and space, and near many hiking trails and other places to explore. Second time here and we'll be back for more, for sure!!! :)
Lost Loon Cove is absolutely gorgeous! The house exceeded all of our expectations. The new bathroom is hotel quality and we loved the heated floor in the morning. The deck overlooks the lovely fire pit and dock. We saw loons, otters and even a herring. My kids loved taking the canoe out. The lake is very quiet compared to other lakes I’ve stayed at in the area, we only saw a few other canoers/kayakers. The location is central to most of the big towns in the Adirondacks. Great property, the pictures don’t do it justice!
Beautifully decorated home and a wonderful quiet location. Kayaks and canoes were easily at hand. The fall foliage was spectacular. It was everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing break.
We had a wonderful week at Lost Loon Cove. It met & exceeded all of our expectations - from how clean and spacious it was, to the well-thought-out amenities. The kitchen had all we needed and we made good use of the outdoor grill. Enjoyed the deck, the floating dock, easy access to the kayaks and life vest, and the beach right in the back yard. We especially loved watching (and hearing) the otters, and a baby otter, that visited near the shoreline often. Not to mention the Northern Flicker, a great blue heron, and a surprise (and startling) visit by a pileated woodpecker. We also discovered several hikes nearby, including Pashley Falls, so the house was conveniently located. It was difficult to pack up and leave! This is a wonderful retreat and we will for sure visit again!
House was as described/pictured. Good location on the lake - was aware of neighbors on the sides but felt pretty secluded. Central location for day trips to Lake Placid, Old Forge, and Lake George if interested. Lots of good hiking close by. Lake was great for paddling but didn't have a ton of success fishing. Good WiFi/tv setup and fire pit setup. Living room could use a little additional comfy seating (couch and recliner seated 4). Overall an enjoyable place to relax in comfort.
Our stay was great. Weather was good for most of week. The location of the property was very private & secluded. A good spot to get away! Food shopping was a bit of a ride from the location.
The cabin is on a smaller section of Lake Abanakee with an idyllic view of the opposite side. The lake was perfect for exploring with it's many coves by the canoes and kayaks provided. The cabin was recently refurbished and the attention to detail really shows. It was perfect for our stay .
Before our trip any questions I had were quickly answered by Joe ,the owner making it such a pleasant experience
