Great Time
Property was just as described. You can hear the road at all times when outside, but if you dont mind that or can tune it out its fine. Place was clean. Had issues with the TVs and host responded quickly. Still ended up having an issue with the downstairs tv getting internet, but were able to hook up our Switch to it, and it was fine. Wish we would have seen a bear! Maybe next time!

Secluded and convenient
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary on the last weekend of September and had a great time at this place! The cabin is almost completely surrounded by woods and neighboring cabins are obscured from view making you feel as if you have the woods all to yourself! It is conveniently located between PF and Gatlinburg and an easy drive to either place or the entrance of the Smokies. The cabin was very clean and we appreciated allowing our 10 yr old dog being able to join us...she enjoyed the rug by the fireplace :) The only small complaint we had (which the hosts have no control over at all so should not reflect on them): we apparently chose to visit during a car expo weekend and were surprised to find out that the noisy cars with backfiring tailpipes drove up and down the strip ALL NIGHT LONG and could be heard from the cabin and basically anywhere you went in either town. We were surprised that this is not curtailed by local noise ordinances and allowed but I suppose the noisy folks bring tourist money to the town, too. In the future when traveling, I will definitely check the calendar to see if our visit coincides with another car expo weekend. Otherwise, I would happily stay here again and recommend to others! Thank you!!

Such a great cabin. Make sure you check the weather. The rain is quite loud on the tin roof lol but otherwise it was a perfect getaway. We also got to see bears which was a first for us :) Nicole was very helpful. Will definitely rent again!

Top Tier Cabin
The cabin was truly amazing. Perfect size for our small family and 2 dogs. Couldn’t believe how clean the place was inside and out. The owners responded to even the tiniest issues immediately (grill wouldn’t ignite) and TALKED me through it. Nothing I loved more was the seclusion and feeling like it’s was our home away from home. The cabin’s locations was smacked dab in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Hot tub, Movie Theater/Game room area was incredible and was frequently used after doing tourist things. Loved every bit of the cabin and looking forward to booking it in the future. Thank You to the owners for setting the bar on how a cabin is supposed to look and feel. Truly made our vacation unforgettable. Thank you again!!!

One week get away for our anniversary.
This was exactly what we needed and what we wanted. The cabin is up off the beaten path, more secluded than many others and the location is centrally located between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge/Sevierville. Just a short drive away and you are in the Smokey Mountains National Park which is where we spent a good deal of time. Sitting out on the deck, there is some road noise at times from the main road that is down by the river below the cabin but nothing that would keep us from coming back. The hot tube was perfect and located inside the screened in portion of the deck and was one of our stay requirements. We used it every day and it was great! There was a king/queen and pull out sofa bed but since it was just two of us, way more than we needed. We stayed for one week and plan to be back.

Mountain stay
The stay in the cabin was great. The drive way was alittle tricky with a bigger truck. The kids enjoyed the pool table. The only issue we ran into was wash cloths. There were only four in the cabin so we had to wash every night to have for the next night.

But the location was too close to the highway and very loud off the deck, the microwave didn’t work and the fridge crisper tray was broken. We also weren’t supplied paper towels or garbage bags.

Little Bear was Nice
Very easy entry to cabin! Recommend a 4WD vehicle only, to be able to pull out of driveway. Bathrooms were clean. My husband's a contractor so all the mismatched wood drove him insane but to the untrained eye it's beautiful. Basement floors were not swept. Hot tub worked great! Roku tv's were easy to log into. The view was breathtaking especially while it rained. The rain on the tin roof was so relaxing. And morning coffee on the screened in porch was just the best! Plus we got to see a momma bear and her 2 cubs❤️ while headed back to the cabin after a great day in Pigeon Forge! Recommended this cabin to everyone!!

What a dream! The most perfect stay you can find in the area
As soon as we checked out, my husband & I were talking about when we wanted to return. There’s enough to do at this cabin that you don’t really have to leave (movies, games, puzzles, jacuzzi tub, hot tub, books). If you want to go to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg, it’s a quick 15 min drive in either way. The drive up to the cabin is steep, but that is what I would expect when staying at a cabin in the Smoky Mtns. Our SUV handled the grade with no problems. I was grateful for the pet friendly property, & my dog definitely enjoyed the mountain views and scents. Bugs would be expected in a cabin in the woods, but I noticed extra care seemed to be taken in bug prevention. Truly there is nothing like waking among the trees with the view this cabin provides. That screened in porch was amazing, & I loved the hot tub. It was a joy to sit outside listening to the birds chirp while drinking coffee & reading. We also got lucky with a rainstorm coming through the area - hearing that rain while playing a board game in the cabin was pure bliss. There is no shortage of movies to choose from; we had a ball playing pool. There were plenty of bath towels for my husband & I. Note the shower on the lower level was quite small. The bed was comfy. Nice touches: the box fans, plenty of outlets by the bed, & the sound machine. A couple comments for potential improvement: Setting a chair out on the deck overlooking the driveway. Having a flat surface on both sides of the bed. Leveling the pool table.

Overall it is worth it
Check in was super easy and we were able to get in early which was super nice. The place is cute and quaint with a good view. The drive up to the cabin is a bit steep, I’m not sure if it was icy/snowy I would attempt it with non 4wd vehicle. You can hear the traffic on the parkway below it but it’s not really bothersome and expected so we didn’t mind. In total we had 3 dogs, 4 adults and baby and I would not recommend that, it’s doable but a little crowded. Love that they allow dogs though. One person in our group was going to sleep on the pullout but when we pulled it out the mattresses topper was stained and gross and we found a half chewed dog bone in between the couch cushions. So not sure how well the couch is cleaned in between guests. The owner was made aware and offered to get a new pad which was nice. Also there are not enough towels if you have the full amount of guests staying in the cabin who plan to use the shower and hot tub. I’d suggest asking for more or bringing your own. The beds are pretty hard and I asked about it and the owners said they got them new and did their best to accommodate everyone’s preferences. So to me and my family they were rock hard with no give but to someone else they might feel a lot better. Also there is no extra bedding or blankets besides what’s on the bed so if you sleep cold I would recommend bringing a blanket and your own pillows. The kitchen is stocked with what you need. I also appreciate the unwrapped toilet paper and sanitized paper around the toilet to let you know they were cleaned and replaced. As we were checking out the cleaning staff showed up and waited outside as we were packing a half hour earlier than check out. Understandable if they have a more cabins than one to clean but it could be bothersome to have someone waiting outside for you and you might feel rushed. Didn’t use the hot tub but it looked clean and well maintained, the downstairs game room stays really cool and is a good hang out spot. Nothing big that was an issue so that’s why I gave 5 stars just minor things (couch) and personal preferences. It’s a perfect location and practically in the middle between pigeon forge and gatlinburg (20mins to either). Overall I would stay here again if I came back to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge/GSM.

Clean and convenient
Great location close to both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Hot tub worked. Kitchen was functional. Everything was clean. The movie theater downstairs was funny. I liked the effort put in with the movie chairs. It was a little noisy. There was a car show in town and we heard obnoxious cars vrooming by on the regular, even quite late. You definitely hear the road below and then there were some partying neighbors nearby too. Big storm came through as well, which is pretty loud on the top floor with the metal roof. All of these things were "by chance" though, so your stay could be just fine. Would recommend the place.

Fantastic, only wish we had more time
The location is great, with only a 10 minute drive to town for food and fun. The people saying its road noisy... yes and no.. there is a river at the bottom between the roads of the highway and that is what we heard. The constant noise of water rushing and you know what it was fantastic. Yes if you get everyone to be quiet and a loud car goes by then you'll hear it. But if you're in the hottub you don't hear any car. If you're talking or have a movie on you don't hear any car. Laying in bed in the dead of night I didn't hear a car unless it was on the gravel road in front of the house which will basically only be your neighbors. It's a tight dead end so don't expect it to be traveled often. The only down side was the king bed is a bit firm, honestly though I have a sleep number bed and I'm spoiled with adjusting the firmness at the push of a button. It is a newer king bed I would guess a foam style. It was nice and I got plenty of rested sleep. The hottub is in a screened porch which helps keep the warmth in, spending time in the tub when it's in the 30 degrees at night was awesome. The whole cabin was nice, clean and the owners are quick to respond from any questions or concern you might have. We spent the trip relaxing in the cabin and in the hottub, a well needed getaway from work and reset. We made it to town for food, hiking, and visiting the Titanic museum. The only problem we had was time, we didn't take enough off from work. Highly recommend this listing and the owners. Not sure when but we will return.

About the host

Hosted by Nicole Schroeder

Host profile image
We are the Schroeder family and we have been traveling full-time since September of 2017. We started out traveling exclusively in our rv, but fell in love with short term rentals when we explored Europe in 2019. We have been to all 50 states and over 10 countries as we seek to learn more about the diversity that makes each place unique and special. This cabin is a family passion. We are teaching our children about construction, basic repairs, budgeting, hospitality, compassion, and loving others well. They are involved in this property and we hope that they will grow to love hosting as much as we do.

Why they chose this property

We have been all across the country in our travels and found that we kept coming back to the Smoky Mountains because we love the area so much. Staying in a log cabin nestled among the trees on the mountain side gives us peace. This is where we come to take a rest and reset. The hot tub and the theater/game room are our favorites. This is where priceless memories are made and we wanted to offer that to others when we were out exploring.

What makes this property unique

The location of this property is something that we love. You are in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so there is easy access to both. If you are exploring both in a day you can go one way, stop for lunch or a nap, and then proceed to the other city.

The vintage theater seats and big screen tv are also a bonus.

Previous guests have mentioned sitting on the porch drinking coffee and seeing bear down below.

This cabin is authentic with a great location.
