About this property

This beautiful House sits just 1 mile outside of Hopeland in the small neighborhood of Clay. It features a Big front yard, as well as a deck with Big Back Yard, 3 bedrooms, 2 Full Bathrooms, a Semi Stocked Kitchen, (Kitchen, Dining, and Living Room) is open area, with a office/den area to the side of Dining area. Bedroom # 1 has attached bathroom with a Whirlpool, and shower. Bath # 2 has Tub with shower, and is also where the washer & dryer is located. . Entire house and grounds is accessible to our guests except for the garage, and basement. An accessible and open floor plan is great for larger groups as well as small!

- No shoes in the house

- No Parties or Events without Prior Approval

- No illegal or Immoral Activities

- Children are welcome but "MUST" be supervised at all times. This not a child proof home. Supervision REQUIRED at ALL TIMES, You will be responsible for all damage and the safety of your children.

Quilters ….going to the show!

We didn’t realize there was no tv in the house. It was no problem, but it would be nice to have seen some news in the morning. Super nice place to stay. Beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. Lots of coffee available and creamers and sugar! I’d stay there again!

January getaway

We enjoyed our weekend here, very clean and comfortable. The snow storm added some pretty views around the small towns, we would love to come back and experience the spring or summer.

Came to the area for a unexpected family event. This was ashort notice booking, Dale was very responsive to our questions and the listing was fully equipped for all our needs. We enjoyed our time at the house with many bears 😊 It was staged well and had plenty to offer. Thanks for the MnM’s, beverages and all! The jacuzzi in the master bath is great! We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice Stay!

We enjoyed staying at the Black Bear Lodge. The property was neat, clean and very well supplied. We appreciated the fact that it was just a short drive to the Middle Creek Nature Preserve.

Black Bear Happiness

Very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. Big rooms and the decor was wonderful. We will tell all our friends & family. We enjoyed our time there. Close to Sight and Sound theater. We enjoyed the Amish garden & a van ride to a working farm.

Lancaster Quilt Show - Fall

4 quilters. Lots of space to work on projects. No need for tv. Loved having easy access to kitchen for snack while working on our projects. Second time staying there and will definitely book again for future quilt shows.

Great house and location

Lovely home , nicely decorated, nice outdoor space. Beds were comfortable, good water pressure and spacious. We did have one to four cats that visted everyday, sometimes scratching at door to get in so of you have puppers to bring be aware there are kitties. Location was close to the Wolf sanctuary, a must visit for the nightime full moon visit. Some road noise in evening on back deck but wasnt terrible. Would love to stay here again next time in PA.

Family time.

Loved there was not a television. Lots of activities to do outside with supplies available along with games for the inside activities. Well stocked clean, and spacious. Great for family memories.

Great location and lots of room but….

I traveled with my mother in law & sister in law. We stayed at this location for 6 days. The location is perfect! Upon entering the home you are immediately hit with a musty mold smell. I am allergic to mold & have asthma, immediately the itching & hives began. We were able to leave the back slider door open at times to help let fresh air in & help air the place out. We had to shut it at night as it was too cold. There is ceiling patch work done in the living room & bedrooms where it looks as though there was water damage at some point. The house was clean, well stocked & roomy. We were provided plenty of clean towels. We each thought our beds were comfortable. The backyard was spacious & beautiful. There is no tv provided, but we kept busy during the day & at night we played games. It was nice not to be distracted by a tv. My sister in law & I utilized the tetherball out back & tried our hands at disc golf. We did enjoy our stay. I would not tell others not to stay here, but if you’re sensitive or allergic to mold just know there is a smell of it. The bathroom in the hallway does not have a holder for the shower head so that was an issue for my older mother in law when she had to shower. There were a lot of cats who visited the house. I believe we encountered 6 different cats. We felt safe in the house. We did have an incident on our last night where a truck pulled up to the house & turned their high beams on & sat there for a couple minutes before leaving.

A Great Stay…

My family (8 adults) enjoyed this stay very much. It was roomy and quiet and the outdoor patio was so peaceful. The only thing we didn’t love were the beds… all of them were pretty uncomfortable.

Spring Quilt Trip 2024

Three quilters came for the quilt show and do a little (alot?) shopping. Location was convenient to the show and our favorite shops. Lots of room for us to spread out and play with fabric and patterns. Will definitely keep on the list for future quilt trips.
