PROPERTY:
You will reach the property through a gated entrance down a long curved driveway flanked by a stone wall on the left and a gentleman’s vineyard on the right. The circular drive will lead you to a grand stone entryway with a custom front door crafted from leaded and beveled glass. Over 6,000 square feet of contemporary living space with a classic touch will welcome you inside this wine country villa as you cross the threshold.
Once inside you will enter a circular foyer joined to a formal living and dining great room with 24 foot ceilings, floor to ceiling windows, marble and hardwood floors, complete with a fireplace. Beyond the dining table there are French doors that lead to a large patio graced by a 500 year old Oak tree and views of the surrounding rolling hills, vineyard and beyond to Mt Diablo.
There is a study adjacent to the foyer with a floor to ceiling bookcase, chess table, fireplace, and daybed. The double French doors to this room can be opened to expand the formal living and dining space or closed to provide private quarters.
Just beyond the formal dining area is an archway that leads into the Great Room with 20 foot ceilings and is composed of the family room and gourmet chef’s kitchen. The centerpiece of the Great Room is a floor to ceiling stone fireplace. A wall of windows faces east that will catch the sunrise over the vineyard in the mornings. The great room has a flat screen TV and is furnished with a cozy sectional and double chair and ottoman to encourage gathering in the evenings for board games, stored in the cabinets, and lively after dinner conversation. There is a DVD collection with a wide variety of film genres in the TV cabinet for your viewing pleasure.
French doors lead from the family room out to the large patio holding the outdoor grill, smoker and cushioned seating surrounding a fire pit. Steps from the patio lead to the lawn below and the flagpole patio with an additional fire pit. The lawn is perfect for tossing a frisbee or hosting a spirited game of corn hole or croquet for those with a competitive streak.
The gourmet chef's kitchen comes fully equipped and has a large center granite island, top-of-the-line appliances, and all the essential kitchenware you need to serve 3-course meals. It also has a large granite countertop that can be used for buffet style serving that has also become a favorite gathering place for casual wine tasting and appetizers.
Past the kitchen is The Pub that holds an original Minnesota Fats Billiard table, a wet bar, and a flat screen TV. Sports fans in the bunch seem to be drawn to this room to grab a beer, watch the game, and engage in friendly sports banter. Conveniently there is a ½ bath powder room located here. Behind the billiard table are French doors that lead to a second dining patio with vineyard views complete with dining table, chairs and retro strung patio lighting for festive al fresco dining.
Beyond the Pub is the home theater complete with a 166” screen, projector, surround sound, velvet blackout curtains, and leather theater seating. The theater also holds a countertop dining table with captain’s chairs and a popcorn maker at the ready for “dinner and a movie” night. The theater has a full bath and its own entrance and can be used to expand the sleeping quarters. There is an inflatable queen bed stored in the theater closet for that purpose if desired.
The west wing is home to the master suite and two additional bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as the laundry room. The master suite has a king bed, a large master bath with double vanities, a walk-in shower, and a soaking tub that overlooks the pool. It also has its own sitting room/dressing room that shares a fireplace with the master bedroom and has sliding glass doors that open to a covered furnished patio with a fire pit and steps down to the pool.
Bedroom 2 has 2 queen beds with a flat screen TV. It also has its own exit to the pool area. Bedroom 3 has king bed and a large floor to ceiling mirrored wall. Bedroom 2 and 3 share a Jack and Jill bath between them. Alternatively, the bath can be separated for privacy and Bedroom 3 can use the additional guest bath conveniently located in the adjacent hall.
The pool is not heated and the area is surrounded by a rose garden and has poolside seating.
On sunny days, watch the sunrise over the vineyard, pack a picnic and explore the back property by hiking the nature loop, challenge one another to a corn hole tournament, enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool, and catch a scenic sunset. In the evening try grilling out for al fresco dining, afterward gather for board games or catch a movie on the big screen. At the end of the night relax by the fire pit, gaze at the stars, and savor that final sip of wine.
