About this property

You'll love staying in our unique home, in a quiet neighborhood. This is a recently remodeled 1867 church converted to a "Chouse". Featuring 2 bedrooms, Full Kitchen, 1 Bathroom, Balcony, Parking, and a Gazebo.. all beautifully complimented by a range of antiques and decorations. 8 Miles East of Hwy 41, a 45 min drive to Oshkosh or an hour to Milwaukee. Just down the road from Lake Bernice & Eisenbahn Bike Trail. Also close enough to the Kettle Moraine Forest to hike and sightsee!

Perfect!

The property was beautiful. Such a unique house. I love that the owners kept some items to reflect the building's former life as a church but still made it completely homey at the same time. They were very quick to reply to any questions we had. Upon arrival we were greeted with a nice welcome note and some snacks. They made sure the house was stocked with everything we may have needed. The area was super quiet and made for a great weekend. We were there for a graduation in the Fond du lac area and this was only about a 20 minute drive to the town and university campus. I would highly recommend the property to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Amazing property!

We were so impressed with all aspects of the Gleason Chouse. It is beautifully remodeled and appointed with all things necessary for a comfortable stay, and it was spotless. The historical nature of the property and the decor are added bonuses! It was quiet and peaceful--we hated to leave, and we hope to stay again some day!

Wonderful place to stay with lot character

Think this was my 3rd stay here, as always it was clean, well stocked and tons great décor touches. I was able easily drive over Port Washington in morning for nice breakfast on Lake Michigan and then visit Horicon Wildlife Refuge to the west later in the day and hit up apple orchard farm stand near by. Great weekend trip...

Perfect Place

This church/home was probably the most unique place I have ever stayed - loved it! It was the perfect getaway for some much need peace & quiet. Connie & Jim were wonderful hosts!

Fall getaway

We enjoyed exploring the unique and interesting space and also relaxing in the very comfortable accommodations. The place was extremely well-equipped, including snacks that were available for us to eat. We are hoping to return!

Amazing property

This was a wonderful place to spend a rainy day instead of hiking. Lots of games and interesting antiques to look at. Very attentive hosts for the one small issue that came up. Thanks, will definitely stay again if in the area.

2nd stay, just as good as first

I was able to stay second time at the old church. This time was mid-oct and the area was pretty much in peak colors. Again the owners had included everything I needed. I was little concerned about large open space and high ceilings would cause it to be cold, but was perfectly comfortable inside, even with 30 degrees mornings. I will definitely rent it again,

Delightful Getaway

Fabulous find. This re-envisioned church is a gem. Beautiful, relaxing, and comfortable, this fabulous property was the perfect getaway spot for a lovely fall weekend in Wisconsin. We plan to return soon!

Great place to stay...

Only got to spend one night, but loved the place. Place had great presence, was clean and comfy. You can tell owners put lot thought in the place. Every where you looked were cute touches from little monk and nun statutes to old-style signs and bottles. And they provided snacks and bottled water. I definitely going to try book for full weekend in the future.

DELIGHTFUL! Pictures don't do it justice.

We were overwhelmed with the hospitality Gleason's Chouse offers a weary traveler. Every amenity you could imagine or desire was in place to create the most perfect stay. The outstanding 'calm' and serenity about the place was striking. Loved sitting outside as well with a cup of morning coffee, a mild breeze and the soft, slow tones of the wind chimes that sounded nearly like the chapel bells. So enjoyed our stay. THANK YOU!

Three days of biking.

By far the most awesomest place we have ever stayed. Everything we needed and more. So clean and our stayed was so relaxing. We could ride our bikes on backs roads 1.5 miles, then hope on a bike trail. We hated to leave the place. We will tell friends and family about this amazing place. We will return for sure.
