We all (adults and kids) had a great time at this property. Pier with gazebo was perfect for fishing. The house was clean and had lots of space for our group of 9. We loved our stay!
The place is beautiful and has huge gardenias everywhere
This place is amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. The open concept was very nice. The place is beautiful and has huge gardenias everywhere. My grandsons enjoyed fishing off the dock and we saw dolphins. We plan on returning.
We visited Ocean Isle Beach for a family wedding and decided we’d prefer the beauty of the intracoastal setting. Mazelle Porch exceeded our expectations. Best lot, best views, best trees, dolphins, birds, swings, outdoor time with family. House is beautiful and had great open floor plan. Sparkling clean and all updated
A fantastic time with family and friends. A beautiful piece of property and beautiful house. We enjoyed our stay so much. Spent a lot of time as a kid in the trees and on the porch of the property with my grandmother and cousins.
What an amazing home! Expansive views of the waterway from the back porch make this home a true dream on the outside. Inside, the home is just small enough to feel like you are together and just large enough to give your family members the space to be alone. Clean, comfortable, and well equipped with an ideal location in close proximity to anything you may need. Our family is relatively local to this home but we will return again and again! Thank you for sharing this hidden gem with us!
Words cannot describe the views this property holds. Day or night it is amazing! You won't be disappointed with your stay here. Beds are comfy, back porch is the most inviting spot of the property - we spent many hours there looking at the ICW traffic. It could use a few more pots/pans but we made due. Would definately stay again.
We have been coming to the beach and intra-coastal waterway for years and years... this by far was one of the most memorable. The location, the house, the southern charm, amentities, the history and the neighbors are just a few of the positive things we can mention. Two familes and a set of older parents were with us and the property fit our every need. Excellent memories were made at the Mazelle Porch @Gause Landing. We WILL return.
Thank you to the hosts for sharing your treasure and your Mother's wonderful dream with the rest of us. We learned very quickly learned from everyone we encountered that she was an amazing human being!
This home is spectacular! There was so much room for us to spread out inside, outside and on the water. The property is just beautiful with the live oak trees and Spanish moss hanging down...very southern feel. They strategically placed the home right under some of these old beautiful trees and the gorgeous water view is framed with them as well. Great, long dock with an attached floating dock was perfect for launching our kayaks, fishing and docking the 21' boat we rented. Low tide still has a couple feet for getting out if you are a boat owner. We enjoyed sitting on the end of the dock in the bench swing waving at the passing by boats and even 4th of July fireworks straight ahead in OIB as a bonus. The yard is sizeable for playing games, relaxing around the fire pit and walking the dogs. It has wrap around porches that have so many different seating areas to enjoy and can keep you out of the sun but still enjoy the outside. The owner who is gracious enough to allow pets did request for them to not be allowed to wander the property so we blocked off one of the stairways to ground level and the dogs could freely move in and out of the house while still secure. It has a newer propane grill and crab pot for outside cooking. Inside is just as pictured. Clean and expansive...it was more then enough for my family of 6 with rooms to spare. They placed one single kids bed in this great space in the upstairs hallway that looks out all the windows onto the water...although not a bedroom, it was the most sought out bed. :-) Utility wise...air conditioning kept the house perfect temperature and there was plenty of hot water for showers for all. The street is quiet and untraveled so we could walk around with the dogs and see the other homes. Plenty of parking in the large driveway...we brought 2 cars and could still have a few more...even has a carport to keep one out of the weather. This home was exactly what we were looking for. We were so happy on the property or out on the boat or kayaks that we didn't even go to the beach. OIB is kinda crammed with people on the island so we stayed away. The local grocery store is right at the end of the street along with a good coffee house and some stores for vacation trinkets. Traffic can be rough on the typical days renters check in and out. We probably spend an hour a mile from the house trying to get in but other then that, we figured out the best ways and times to get around. All in all, I highly recommend it.
House was just lovely. It is located on the intracoastal with a short drive over the bridge to Ocean Isle beach. It was so enjoyable we hardly went to the beach Beautiful old trees and very relaxing. A week was not enough.
Stunning views and home on waterway with gorgeous trees
This home and location was absolutely perfect for our recent vacation at OIB. We were looking for a home with boat access and 4 bedrooms. This home filled all of our desires and then some. We had plans on spending some time on the island, but were so impressed with the home and yard, we never left. We enjoyed fishing from the pier, boat watching, watching dolphins swim past in the waterway, playing yard games in the large back yard, taking pictures and enjoying the sunsets amidst the large stunning trees, walking the neighborhood in the historic area, swinging on the back porch and pier....
So many activities with our family, priceless. Besides the stunning trees, another Amenity is that you don't have to deal with all of the traffic that is present trying to get on and off of the island. That is a huge plus.
We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. We will stay again and highly recommend to any family looking to make priceless memories and enjoy spending time together in a relaxing environment where the views are among the most beautiful ever seen.

Why they chose this property
The Mazelle Porch at Gause Landing is packed full of historical significance as well as family importance. Our family has been a part of Gause Landing for over 70 years. The yard is enormous and is flanked by HUGE live oak trees, dripping in Spanish moss, that are so old that George Washington slept under them with his troops. You will not find another location like this one!
