About this property

Lakefront, Wooded, & Secluded Home - Family Dogs Welcome.

Nestled in a quiet and wooded original lake neighborhood on the west wide of Deep Creek Lake, our home “Lake View Escape” is a perfect spot for your relaxing year round retreat. Our spacious property includes plenty of (flat) off street parking, a large deck with a hot tub/grill/picnic table, a great back yard to spread out in, and a fire pit with plenty of outdoor seating.

You will take a very brief stroll from the back deck down to the lake where you will find a sandy beach, dock, and an amazing kid friendly swimming area. Our kids and dogs love swimming in the shallow cove, swimming across to the other nearby shore, and setting up imaginary worlds all around the beach area.

Your guests will immediately feel at home inside our home where there is a cozy living room with a wood stove, a large kitchen and adjacent dining area, a sunroom for lazy book reading in the mountain air or watching a movie, as well as the three bedrooms (5 beds), and two full baths with showers.

We are located 15-20 minutes from most of the deep creek attractions including The Wisp, Swallow Falls, Deep Creek State Park, white water rafting, area golf courses, and McHenry, Maryland.

Most of our guests plan to return again due to the very special connection with our home and property - we hope you come stay with us soon!

Please note that the DNR adjusts the lake depth throughout the year, outside of our control, so the water depth at the dock varies, please check and also be aware if parking a boat at the dock in low water. The dock is removed from the water in October based on lake rules. The boat dock is an amenity that is subject to weather conditions, water levels, and other natural factors.

Pending availability, we offer an early check in of 1:00 PM and/or a late check out of 12:00 PM for a fee. Please message after booking if this is requested (this must be advance planned).

The family dogs are allowed with a small kennel provided in the home. There is a pet fee per reservation that needs to be selected at checkout, this includes two dogs max, additional dogs need to be discussed and would require additional fee if approved.

We have both a woodstove and firepit with firewood provided. A 4x4 is recommended in the winter.

You must be 21 years or older to rent this property.

Cozy fun house

We come to deep creek every February and this is by far the best house we have ever rented. Cozy, clean and dog friendly. We loved it and will definitely be back again! Owners definitely take pride in their home and it shows.

Winter weekend

We had a great stay! Location was perfect - quick 15 minutes to Wisp. Cozy well-appointed house with all the necessities. It was snowy and very cold that weekend, but the wood stove and hot tub kept us nice and warm. Matt was easy to work with and we felt very welcome! Hope to return to explore the lake in the summer.

We had a relaxing get away with our 2 fur babies. The house was very clean with comfy beds and a very well stocked kitchen. Our fur babies loved playing in the leaves. We had hoped to see a bear, but that didn't happen. We enjoyed daily visits by the deer who were eating the pears. We really liked the area of the lake the house sat on.

Fall at the Lake

Fun sisters weekend

We sisters enjoyed trail hiking, relaxed in the hot tub , cooking in the well equipped kitchen and visiting the historic town of Oakland. This cottage was clean and comfortable!

Lovely Lake Home

We enjoyed staying at this property very much. The Lake was very low. Matt had mentioned there could be variation in water levels. We were not prepared for the dry dock. Swimming was not even possible. The neighbors’ water depth was fine. I presume this was due to the placement of the house on the cove. The house and amenities were wonderful. Great communication and information provided. Lovely view.

The house was clean, the hot tub on the large deck with ample seating and the fire pit make the back yard a destination with a view. Beds are awesome and the water is hot! Kitchen was well equipped. The overall experience was great! Thank you Matt!

Great for R&R

Our family enjoyed two days here. Our dog was in heaven chasing the ball into the lake and in the backyard. The house was comfortable and perfect for hanging out when it rained and we played games. We also enjoyed a cozy campfire our last night. The area is beautiful. Spent one morning hiking along Swallow Falls and enjoyed an afternoon in a pontoon boat. The location of the house is nice and quiet, with no major nearby. Matt was incredibly responsive and helpful with the checkin process. Went very smoothly. Only disappointment -- we didn't see a bear!

Beautiful property

My family and I stayed at this very quiet property, all you could hear was beautiful sounds of nature. The housewas comfy, cleaned, well stocked, just a few steps from to the lake. We really enjoyed our time here and hope come back again soon!

Overall great stay and location

The house and location was key for our family and friends with little kids. With a private beach and on a cove where our kids could swim all day long. Outside fire pit area was ideal to relax in the evening. The house its self was nice a little small for all of us but it worked. Even had toys for the kids to play with. My only issue was no central air. The bedrooms had air units but the living room did not and it got quit hot in there. Fortunately there were ceiling fans. Overall good stay

Wonderful short stay

We booked a last minute stay and were extremely pleased with everything about this rental. The place is very clean, the location can't be beat and the amenities are plentiful. We would definitely come back for a lobger stay next time. Highly recommend.

Peaceful Lake Getaway

The location cannot be beat—lakefront, quiet neighborhood with sandy entrance to the lake. Our kids and dog loved the easy lake access, and we rebted and launched kayaks from the Acquatic Center. The hot tub and sun porch were amazing relaxation areas, and the whole family enjoyed playing Wii sports. The kitchen was fully stocked and there was a great gas grill outside. We made most meals at home and enjoyed a bonfire each night. Weather was perfect and we opened windows and kept fans running. I can see it being hot later in summer, but it was perfect for Memorial Day weekend. Exactly as advertised and we would definitely stay again.

Great little getaway!

Very cute and comfy house with nice deck and hot tub. Lake is beautiful but house is a bit set back from lake. Not too far but not right on lake as I was expecting. Still a great place and great communication!
