About the host
Hosted by Emily Gunn

My family were among Vail Pioneers, who settled in Vail in the early 1960s. I became a full-time resident in the 1990s and reared my two teenage sons, who attended the Vail Mountain School and made life-long friends there. Vail became home to us immediately. We are all proud to call Vail our home, because of the magnificence of the Rocky Mountains and the unique and stellar character of the people, who call the Vail Valley home.
Why they chose this property
First: THE VIEWS and THE SUNLIGHT!
Second: We chose this property to welcome our sprawling family, after my parent's home sold in 2010. I wanted to continue the family legacy of gathering for holidays, and we needed space to do that; Hence the 6 bedroom house. e hope you can feel the comfort and peace of our mountain home for the holidays this year.

What makes this property unique
Aside from the views and sunlight, Ptarmigan House is located in a very private locals' neighborhood. Our neighbors live here year-round and this offers our guests privacy and security. It's dark outside, right now, and the lights of the few houses nearby are comforting.
