This was our second time staying at the Pelican’s Nest, and both years have been such a dream! We love that it is dog-friendly, because our lab lives the beach! This is her vacation every year! The house is spotless, spacious, and very close to the sand! Lots of delicious restaurants near by. We will be back!
Ideally situated to enjoy the beach , the bay and sightseeing in the area. Plenty of living space & storage with comfortable beds. The hosts were friendly & responsive.
This is was our fourth stay at Pelican’s Nest, and, as always, we had a fantastic time! The beach house was clean and tidy and contained everything we could possibly need. Hurricane Debby got pretty close, and Erin was quick to reach out and offered to refund days if we chose to leave early. We chose to stick it out, and enjoyed some gorgeous weather the remainder of the trip!
We stayed at Pelican’s Nest for our first family trip to the Gulf, and it was perfect for us. Two adults, two boys age 10 and 12, one dog. Clean and well equipped house, very quiet area, great hosts. We’d love to come back.
We spent most days on the beach. Hosts provided a really nice cart that made it easy to shuttle back and forth, plus sand toys, boogie boards, and umbrellas. Saw a few sunsets across the road, either from Scallop Republic’s deck or the Salinas Park boardwalk.
There was an issue with the A/C one evening when we got back from the beach. Just a normal maintenance thing that happens with any house, but it was getting late and we were ready to sweat it out overnight. Nope, owners jumped in and got it taken care of within an hour.
Private quiet and quaint community which is what I was looking for. Easy beach access. We didn’t use beach accessories but everything is there for you if needed. House was clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed drinking coffee on the attached patio.
There are amazing restaurants within a short driving distance. It’s a perfect getaway to the beach or the bay.
the neighborhood was quaint, quiet (except for some nearby house construction) and an easy walk to the beach. very quick responses to our questions. Nice visit. would come again. only odd house design was the one bedroom having to go through the master bedroom to get to living room.
Erin was wonderful to deal with. Communication was very fast. This was a very last minute booking. House is decorated cute and not far down Cape San Blas so easy access to Indian Pass and Port St Joe. Very short walk to the beach on community boardwalk. Would definitely stay again.
It was a family getaway for Christmas it was nice to have access to beach and have a nice fire and catch up with family we have not seen in a while great quiet little community where you can let little ones be
Little ones without the worry it is just a great lplacebto spend some time either with or without family and friends
Tons of amenities, beach carts, chairs, sand crab and shell rakes, two outdoor grills, fireplace, all sorts of kitchen appliances, washer and dryer.
Overall a fantastic place to stay
We loved the property, Great location. Anything we needed was provided, paper products, towels, kitchen appliances, etc.
Thank you!! We will definitely plan another visit.
We had a great stay! The house was clean and had plenty of space for our family and dog. It was a short walk to the beach and a short drive to restaurants and the trading post. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location with easy access to beach and bay! We had the beach to ourselves most days. Enjoyed a pontoon rental on the bay and beach time in the warmer afternoons. House was perfect for our family of 5 and our pup, with plenty of room to spare. Loved opening up the living room to the back deck with a gate to keep our pup safe. Thanks!
Stayed here for an extended stay, mid January thru all of February. This home is an old school, well worn single floor dwelling. Of course like most homes in the area, it sits on stilts. You can pull your car under the house.
Our initial reaction upon entering was everything looked neat and tidy. All the bedrooms are on the left side of the home if you're facing the gulf. The right side has a small area with washer and dryer, then essentially the kitchen, dining area, and living room in one great room.
First bedroom has a king size bed that was comfortable. Guest bath could be accessed from this room and also an external door sharing a set of stairs with the home next door. This bath has a small walk-in shower and a single sink. Master bedroom and bath are next. Some other reviewers complained about the king bed here, but we didn't find it uncomfortable. The master bath has a full tub and shower, and two sinks. The third bedroom, which somehave reviewed is a little awkward. It connects to the master bedroom thru a set of double doors. It has another king bed. In addition there is an external door to the rear deck. So, anyone staying in that room would need to go thru the master or outside to the deck and enter thru the living room. It was just the two of us, so no big deal.
We were disappointed in some things that clearly need addressing. I would say if one was here for a week, you probably wouldn't notice or care. However, staying for 7 weeks things become more apparent, so here goes; internal and exterior doors that stuck and wouldn't lock, cracked, broken and loose floor tiles, mildew on master bath shower curtain, clogged sink in master bath, chair rungs broken or missing in dining area chairs, dirty dishes pots and pans put away, no scissors, no iron. I replaced at least 6 light bulbs. The vacuum was a clunky thing probably from the 80's and wasn't very good. The robot vacuum didn't do any better. Guest bathroom sink had a very steady drip until I tightened it up.
We communicated with the owner about the missing iron. We also mentioned that the microwave vent hood needed a light bulb and filter for the stove top. Lastly I mentioned the grill for the Weber cooker was rusty and needed replacing. It took a while before the owner responded, but nothing was done while we were there.
Would we go back? Yes, we were comfortable. Things mentioned could easily be resolved.
The house was very clean, well decorated and comfortable. We thought the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you needed to do any cooking. The cart to pull all your chairs and fishing equipment down to the beach was a real plus. When the weather finally cooperated we had a great time fishing in the surf and caught plenty of fish.
The only criticism I would have is that there was no live TV. I couldn’t catch up on the news or watch a football game on a rainy day 😞.
Have stayed at Pelicans Nest many times. Love the convenience of the location, clean, comfortable and are doodle loves the space . Erin is a pleasure to work with as always!.
