Decent property, but very basic
The house was as advertised. Plenty of space, four bedrooms upstairs, a lovely master bathroom, and a spacious basement that included a movie theater setup. The folks running it communicated with us clearly. There was nothing really bad about the place. However, it needs some work.
In general, the house lacked little touches and needs some updates. For example, none of the bathrooms had hand towels in them. Every single towel in the house other than a few black washcloths labeled "makeup" was stored in the closet of the upstairs hallways bathroom. So we had to redistribute the towels to all three floors. Similarly, the toilet paper was all stored in that same bathroom. The projector in the movie theater desperately needs replacing -- the picture quality is really lacking, and there's a big brown area of the projection that seems like a problem with the machine.
There were no throw blankets anywhere. There were no sponges in the kitchen, so it was hard to clean dishes. The refrigerator has an ice maker and water dispenser, but they weren't working at all. A vacuum cleaner was randomly sitting out in the dining room. The dishwasher had been run but not emptied. There were no kitchen towels. If you're going to cook here, bring EVERYTHING. The couches in the living room on the main floor are uncomfortable, and the setup is very odd. The master bed's mattress needs to be replaced, and the beds in general are in need of updating.
This isn't a bad place to stay if you want to be in this area of town, you have a larger group of people, and you don't plan on cooking very much. The movie theater area was by far the most comfortable part of the house, but the projector isn't very good. Overall, it was serviceable but not great.
