Gettysburg Civil War Farm ~ 65 Acres Of Scenic Privacy

Welcome to our Civil War Farm! Conveniently located on 65 acres of scenic privacy just 5 miles from Gettysburg National Battlefield. There are 2 beautiful facilities available, each decorated with modern comfortable furniture, and accented with Civil War memorabilia and antiques.

We have two different facilities at our Civil War Farm.

A restored 1810 Barn that has two separate bedrooms, both with queen size beds.
Both bed rooms have separate baths, one has a Jacuzzi tub with hand held shower. One has combo Tub/Standup Shower unit.

The other facility is a restored 1831 Civil War Stone House with three separate bedrooms, all with queen size beds and separate bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a Jacuzzi tub with a separate stand up shower unit, one has an Old Claw Foot Tub with a separate stand up shower unit, and the third has an enclosed Shower/Tub Unit.

Both facilities have central air-conditioning, fireplaces, fully equipped kitchens,
satellite TV in all rooms along with a big screen TV in each of the gathering rooms and are decorated with Fine Antiques with comfortable areas to relax.

Our Guests have use of our outside facilities/grounds at the farm, which include an in ground pool (opens, May 15th, closes Sept 15th), tour our restored 1942 Caboose Museum, horseshoe pits, golf putting green, Nature Gardens with Pond and Rock Waterfall, lighted walkways, orchards, grape vineyard, picnic pavilion, etc. All in complete scenic privacy. The view from the deck of the Stone House overlooks Little Round top at the Battlefield.

Our rates to rent each facility are:

Nov-Apr .. $325/night/facility (2 night minimum) .. $2000/week/facility.
May-Oct .. $400/night/facility (2 night minimum) .. $2500/week/facility.

All Rates Are Subject to 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax & 5% Adams County Tax. We offer a 10 % discount when renting both the Barn and Stone House. Check in time is anytime after 3 PM and check out time is at 11 AM.

The 3 Bedroom Stone House with 3 queen size beds, 2 single day-beds and will sleep up to 8. The 2 Bedroom Barn with 2 queen size beds and a single rollaway beds will sleep up to 5. Our facilities are very nice and we would require that our guests sleep on the beds provided and not on the couches or floor. No pets are allowed in either of our facilities. The use of the grounds and facilities are for the guests that stay here.

Our 65 acre working Farm is located 5 miles from the Gettysburg National Battlefield and new National Park Service Visitor Center.

Close to downtown Gettysburg (approximately 5 miles) for hiking on the Battlefield, bus or private touring options, stores, theaters, restaurants, and Golf Courses. Lots of history and a lot to do, including experiencing a working farm complete with cattle, vineyard, herb, flower, and vegetable gardens in season, along with hay, corn/soybean crops and a walking trail to our 1700 era Old Spring Head from when Native Americans occupied the land. You can also enjoy the Pool and tour our restored 1942 Caboose Museum. You may want to picnic in our pavilion or just sit out on the deck overlooking the pastures and hillsides and watch the cattle graze. Bring your camera to capture the beauty of the area. We feel that this is one of the finest vacation getaways in Central Pennsylvania with everything you are looking for in a romantic getaway or a taste of country living with a historic perspective.

Perfect winter getaway with friends
The home was very spacious and well decorated. We appreciated the historical touches throughout the place. The host was super amazing and very enthusiastic of the love and detail they put into making this a home.

Great place to stay
We chose this property for a wedding nearby. I wish we had more time to spend at the property. There is a lot of history and many other things to do on the property and nearby. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Historic Home and Property
We had a wonderful get-away weekend with our adult children and spouses. The home is warm and weloming and we were greeted by Tom with a tour and great tips for exploring the history of Gettysburg. I especially appreciated that the kitchen had every item I could possibly need for eating a couple meals in. Highly recommend this property!

Great stay
A quick trip with friends. Tom was a wonderful host and a wealth of knowledge. He was responsive and accommodated our requests. Short of the farm house being in front of the property and a further walk to the barn/farm all was exactly as described

Promotion to Colonel
It more than lives up to the advanced descriptions on the web site. Tom and Carol have found the prescription for both history and class. The site was beautiful, and Tom gave us a tour of his facilities and a great history lesson of both the battle of Gettysburg and the thousands of articles that adorned the house and barn.

Family gathering
We sincerely enjoyed our stay at the Civil War home. The location of the property was great and Tom gave us great instructions of the property and area. Our immediate family came here from three different states for this gathering. It was great for all of us to come home and be together again.

Very interesting place
Great place to stay if you are visiting Gettysburg.Tom the owner is great host and greets you personally and gives you a tour of property. Also very knowledgeable about the civil war. We are a biking group and this home is great for road riding right from the home. If you have any problem Tom Is right there to help you. We rented both the home and the barn. We were disappointed in the distance between both houses. A family with small children may have a hard time staying there because of so many things to look at but not to be touched. Two lovely homes.

Spacious Gettysburg Retreat
What a wonderful stay! Property was spacious, a great place to start your morning with a quiet walk, come back to a large kitchen and prepare breakfast, and then sit one of two tables to enjoy it with family. Property is well maintained and is located about 4 miles from gas stations, grocery stores, and fast food. It was perfect for our 6 guests ... if you decide to book, take lots of pictures, you might might be surprised what you see!

Perfect!
Family and friends gathered to spread the cremains of a loved one at Gettysburg Battlefield. We stayed at both the historic house and barn with plenty of room to spare. The grounds were breathtakingly beautiful. It was such a unique and interesting place. We had all the amenities at our disposal, including the pool. The host was so friendly and accommodating. The whole experience could not have been more perfect for our group and for the whole reason for our trip. I would absolutely book this site again.

Beautiful and quiet
Where do I start. If I could give a 10 star raring I would. The owner of this property is amazing. He is very through on getting you checked in (with a complete walk thru of house and farm property, including the caboose) and what the history is behind his property and all of Gettysburg (I wished all owners were like Tom, very caring of his guests). If you love history this is the place to stay more than the others out there. He can and will answer all your questions you might have (tons of knowledge about the civil war with his property and surrounding area). The property is amazing. We stayed in the stone house which sits along the road. The Barn that is a separate place to stay is back at the barn which is close to the swimming pool. There is plenty of space and lots of deer to see in the morning and evening. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows for your needs. There are beach towels for use already at the house. Also use the deck which the 2 back bedrooms have their door go right out onto it. You can see the stars so clear. No light noise means more stars. I will defiantly stay there again.

Not a rental- an experience!
Tom was a great host and presents a unique experience with a plethora of antiques, civil war and Gettysburg history and memorabilia at a unique setting. Personally enjoyed our interaction with him - and his wife, Carol, was also very engaging. If visiting Gettysburg this is the place! Greg.

Nice spot for Gettysburg or quiet retreat
First, the property pictures are somewhat misleading. The primary property is 500 yards from the pool, the barn and the garden. Second, the primary property is somewhat of a museum, with wax figures, scores of antiques and antiquated TVs. This is not a property for multiple small children. Overall, we were pleased with the accommodations. The wifi was spotty and required numerous resets. There were also quite a few notes about what you were allowed to touch and not touch. I would recommend this property for an older clientele who is more interested in the property as a base for Gettysburg events.

As a history buff the property is wonderful. Amenities are available for all ages, pool was great! The stone house , while great, was a long, long walk from the other living quarters. Tom was gracious and knowledgeable host. Would recommend...

Lovely get away
The host made us feel very welcome. He was a wealth of knowledge on the Gettysburg area and the Civil War. Both homes were lovely, filled with period antiques and museum pieces. Our littles were fascinated with the "statues" and were able to look and not touch. If you enjoy chatting about local history or just having it as a landing pad... it's lovely!!

Relaxing Long Weekend at a Civil War Era Farm
This stunning 65-acre farm is conveniently located just 15 minutes from Gettysburg National Military Park, making it an ideal spot for those looking to learn more about Civil War history. However, its appeal extends far beyond history buffs. Whether you're visiting Gettysburg College, seeking a peaceful retreat for a couple, organizing a family reunion, seeking inspiration for writing, or planning day trips to Washington DC or Baltimore, this farm offers something for everyone. The property is meticulously maintained, boasting intriguing features both indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend this farm for anyone visiting the greater Gettysburg area.

Beautiful location for a family get together
There are two properties available, and we reserved both. We split our family between the two houses, which worked well for us. The long driveway between makes for a nice walk or jog for guests. Both locations had large, well-equipped kitchens, gathering areas, and Civil War-themed decor. We appreciated the historic layout quirks of the main house, and the renovated barn had some fun features - like the large but cozy living room with a relaxing fireplace and the downstairs sports den. The hosts were friendly, gracious, and responsive. It was a much better experience than other VRBO locations we have visited recently. -- Highly recommended -- We visited for our winter holiday, but we want to try out that pool next time.

Wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend
With beautiful surroundings in an area where you can feel the history, and perfect hosts - you couldn’t have a better combination. Close enough to Gettysburg to be there in minutes, having two wonderful homes to stay in (we slept in both the barn and the Stone House, using the Stone House as our gathering point and HQ. Both were very historic, very comfortable and rather unique with historical artifacts all throughout each. Including wax figures of some of the people you have heard about in history lessons. Our only wishes were that the stone house and the barn were closer together or that maybe there could have been a golf cart to shuttle between the buildings. Please note - not a complaint but a wish. Tom gave us a history lesson our first night there as part of the checkin and it really helped us to understand what happened and where it happened. When you can go to the upstairs deck and see a mountain it is one thing. When you are shown that it is Little Round Top and its significance in the battle, it paints a new picture entirely. We had a great stay in what I will always remember as being a live-in civil war museum with a very unique sports annex (if you like sports memorabilia, heaven is at the bottom of a spiral staircase in the barn. )
