Amazing location in central Paris

We had a lovely time at this amazing apartment in the heart of Paris near the Arc de Triomphe. Easy access to several metro stations. The kitchen is absolutely fantastic and the whole process was a breeze. Would definitely stay again.

Wonderful family stay

The location of this property is fantastic - close to metro stops and so much nearby in the neighborhood. The hosts’ communication was amazing. We loved the larger kitchen and well furnished home. We had six in our group and were very comfortable.

Lovely apartment a short walk to Arc de Triomphe

Large and spacious apartment in a quiet neighborhood about a 10 minute walk to the Arc. Very comfortable for entertaining and each room was spacious for both guests and all the luggage. The host responded immediately and was wonderful to work with. Would recommend.

Perfect home for a group

My family spent thanksgiving in Paris this year, and this house was absolutely perfect. Plenty of room for all, and the giant dining room seated everyone easily. The modern kitchen was well stocked to make a complete thanksgiving meal, and the kids especially enjoyed the bathtub. Communication with our host was fast and informative. We’d love to return someday.

Home in Paris

Our home in Paris was all we needed. We had 10 members of our family from 8 to over 70. Plenty of room to have quiet time. Easily slept 10, bathrooms were all we needed. Very nice to look forward to getting home for dinner. The proximity to the Arch de Trimuph and the Champs isle se was great, only a one stop metro ride to the Eifel Tower. All amenties were available and the short walk to the Mono Prix and the local market was great. Would definitely sty here again.

Large space, great kitchen, didn't want to spend much time there

Good things: large apartment in a nice neighborhood, classic details, Haussman building, great kitchen, very kind neighbors in the building. Allowed for early check-in. Nice walk to market, cafes, busses, metro. Quiet safe street. Bad things: 1. check in was swift. There are post it notes all over the apartment that you have to find for the information you need...like wifi and how to use the TV and laundry and trash. Treasure hunt. 2. The master bedroom has a bed. The other rooms have 3" IKEA stained mattress toppers on wooden slats. 3. The second bedroom has a smell so bad that no one could sleep there and we had to keep the door closed the entire time. 4. The sink in one bathroom was clogged and couldn't be used. 5. The windows open to a small courtyard where the trash cans for the building sit. 6. The sofas in the family room are torn and worn. Stuffing coming out. 7. There is only one key to the apartment, making it very difficult for a large group to come and go as they please. We had to coordinate constantly. The key is an electronic fob and I was told that if I lost it, I would have to pay $1000 to replace it. 8. We were pretty much on our own, any concerns took hours if not the next day to get answers from the owner. 9. It was just dirty and musty and smells of mold. The linens are all at least 20-30 years old, Strange sticky stuff on walls, the oven was full of dirty pans with old food on them. 10. While we stayed the temperatures were quite cool in the evenings (10-14C) , and was told the building doesn't turn on the heat until October. So we wrapped up in old stained linens. There is a huge pantry of anything anyone ever left behind, all categorized in containers...which is cool because I did need some paper and pen, and someone needed a bandaid. More toilet paper than you could ever use. Towels but no washcloths or hand towels. No paper towels or trash bags. I would encourage the owner to get the smell out, buy some actual mattresses, check in on the property. We would have gladly paid $100-$200 more per night for better sleeping and care given the lovely historic space. We just didn't want to be in the apartment, and sleeping was hell. The pillows are terrible and dirty. We had to double up the mattress toppers on the floor to sleep, and that still was terrible. A small investment in quality of sleeping and odor control would pay itself back in a few weeks.

Paris Experience

We really enjoyed the property. Plenty of shops, restaurants, and markets close by. We were 3 families (10 in total) and we were very comfortable. The area is residential and very nice. We walked around the neighborhood late at night and felt safe. We had a couple of questions about the property and the owners responded very quickly. I really recommend the place. We loved Paris!

Big space in a great location!

We were 5 adults w/ 5 kids and stayed here very comfortably. The apart is very spacious w/ a big living room, dining room, kitchen and master bedroom. The rest of the bedrooms are mostly geared towards children but some of the bunk beds are large enough to sleep two adults comfortably. Kitchen was very modern w/ everything you would ever need there. You can't beat the location. In a quiet neighborhood (not a lot of noise from either foot or car traffic) but very close to plenty of action, including great bars, and restaurants off of Ternes and Poncelet (outdoor market and plenty of shops/bars/restaurants). You are also four blocks from the Arc de Triomphe. The only minor challenge we had was with only having one shower (there is also a large tub but it's meant for soaking/relaxing more than washing). John was always very quick to answer any questions and very helpful. Next time we are in Paris w/ a large group, this will be the place we check for availability. Thanks for a great stay.

The listing was accurate. The apartment provided everything we needed for our stay in Paris including tour books. It was comfortable, clean, and secure. We had 8 adults and 4 children which stretched the limits of sleeping space just a little. The location was perfect as we could walk to so many of the sights including the river where we had passes on the boats and were able to easily extend our sightseeing. Restaurants and markets were plentiful and close by. The owner was very helpful, always answering my emails promptly and answering my numerous questions. I would definitely recommend this property to friends. Renting this apartment made our stay as a family a much richer experience.

An OASIS after a long day in Paris!

We had a GREAT stay at this home! Two families (total of 12) fit comfortably in this beautiful home. The place was elegant yet homey and comfortable. The bathrooms are very nice and updated, the kitchen is huge (by European standards) and updated which was great, and the beds were comfortable. Great family-style home! Parking was a bit of a challenge, but we found a parking garage a few blocks away, €20/day (very reasonable). It was great not having to drive the crazy city round-abouts once we got there. Only a fifteen minute walk to the Arc de Triomphe, Metro was pretty easy to figure out for the sites just out of walking distance. After a sixteen-hour day on the streets of Paris, this home was like a much needed oasis for our families. Owner and caretakers were very nice and easy to work with. We HIGHLY recommend this place. We wish we could have stayed longer to actually enjoy the house more (but of course we were there to see Paris). This place worked GREAT for our families, hope it works just as well for yours!

Great place for Family or large groups

John and his wife have a wonderful home. Our friends wanted to see Paris with their 3 kids and us with our 4kids. John was so wonderful to work with in securing his home. It was a great location and huge (by Paris standards)apartment that meet all our needs. Everyone had a room to sleep in and privacy. We loved going to the markets every morning and buy fresh food our breakfasts and dinners. We loved walking to the Charles De Gaulle metro looking at Arc de Triumphe every day and coming home seeing it all lite up. Street parking we had to watch for openings but there was underground parking a few blocks away. Their neighbors were a blessing from heaven, we knew no French but they seem to understand our situations and helped us out asap. For example, street parking they helped us by telling us that a we needed a special parking card for the parking meter our credit card or bank cards would not work. They pointed us in the direction of the store and we bought the parking card like a resident which was very affordable. John gave us great directions to the home and other places in Paris and Versailles. We felt like we were living in Paris which made our time there even more special. Merci !

We had a great time

Four friends and I spent a week in Paris at this apartment and we had a wonderful time. The apartment was big enough for all of us to have our own privacy and at the same time, having a kitchen and living room to eat and to relax in was great. The location is superb -- close enough to the main attractions and yet not touristy at all. In fact, we saw no other tourists in the neighborhood. But 20 min on a bus -- stops 2 blocks away -- brought us to the Seine, the Louvre the Musee d'Orsay and so on. In addition, the fact that the rue Poncelet market is 2 blocks away meant that we could have fresh baguettes, pain au chocolat, and the freshest fruit and vegetables any time. Usually the first one up bought breakfast and the food was incomparable. The main problem with the apartment is that we had to leave it.

Wow! We stayed here with 6 kids and 3 adults and were very comfortable. It is a treat to come back to this lovely apartment after a full day of sightseeing. The Metro stop is nearby and so is a cute little park. The location is perfect and the apartment is delightful. We will definitely plan on staying at this beautiful home on our next trip to Paris. It truly was our home away from home. Thank you to the Halls!

The apartment was perfect. It was more than my family expected and they were very happy. The minute we walked in everyone got really excited! The apt was very spacious and accommodated all 9 of us with so much room for more! It was so kid-friendly, we had to beg the kids to leave the apt! They had a blast. The apt is in a perfect location. Everything was so accessible. The metro, the bus, and the Arc was all nearby. We walked around this great neighborhood to find everything we needed within just a few steps. Great bakeries, restuarants, and a grocery story. John and his family were awesome! My husband and I loved it so much this will defintely be our "to go" place in Paris!

We (family of 3) shared t...

We (family of 3) shared the spacious apt with friends (another family of three) and found the accommodations fantastic! I was in Paris to attend a conference at the "Palais de Congres" and was able to walk to the conference in 20 minutes! And what a walk! This neighborhood is amazing. We easily walked to the Arc de Triumph (about 12 minutes). The view from the top of the Arc helped us to get our bearings on the major landmarks of the city. The street on the othr side of the Arc is the Champs-Elysee, where we window shopped and my daughter had her first chocolate crepe (actually it was made with nutella) sold by a street vendor. From the apt we were two blocks from a daily open-air fresh produce market and shops of drop-dead-delicious cheeses (my husband is from Wisconsin and loves his cheese), bakeries, restaurants, delis, two grocery stores--with an ample selection of yogurts mind you--who knew there were so many flavors!), clothing stores, gift shops, flower stands, everything! In fact, in any direction we walked from the apartment, the streets were filled with interest and delight...shopping,strolling, dining, coffee sipping while people watching, and a great location for history buffs and people with an eye for architectural gems. We had our choice of walking to the oldest park in Paris to picnic, or walking the 10 minutes to the metro (charles de gaulle Etoile) to catch Line 1 which took us to many of the key tourist attractions in Paris. We also used the #31 bus--just steps from the front door of the apartment. The apartment itself was perfect. The 14 foot ceilings and french doors and windows provided a setting of elegance and spaciousness, and 4 bedrooms gave us all the space needed to relax or interact as desired. The eat-in kitchen allowed flexibility in eating times, and with the market so close, it was fun to try new foods "at home." We had our "last supper" in the formal dining room. The apartment was spacious, comfortable, and sharing the costs with the other family, it ended up being less expensive than a 3 star hotel--and a whole lot more comfortable! The kids loved the wii and mario video games. The owner was easy to work with, helpful, resourceful (left maps and tour books for our use), available by phone (they are native English speakers--which was helpful to us as we are new to the French language) and email, and had an in-law (who lives in the area and is a native english speaker fluent in French)available to us throughout our sta
