Sæby, the town by the sea, with its typical Danish small town idyll and wide child-friendly beaches, is one of the most attractive vacation resorts in Denmark. The beaches in this area not only invite you to swim and splash around, but also offer an ideal romping place for anglers, surfers and sailors. With suitable wind conditions, the southeast wind, you may also be lucky enough to find amber. Voergård Castle is one of the prettiest Renaissance buildings in Denmark and certainly worth a visit. Or you can make a trip to Frederikshavn with its idyllic old district Fiskerklyngen, the Krudttårn and the Bangsbo Museum, like its many art galleries and glassblowing workshops.
