We had an absolutely wonderful time staying at Laura's property over a long weekend in July (glad they could accommodate a long weekend during the busy summer season). Laura and her husband were both very nice and friendly. We stayed in the second cottage from the top, just off the main deck (1 bedroom, 1 bath). The property is lovely, the landscaping very well done and all expertly maintained. There are two grills on the main deck to share, and two large tables with umbrellas that probably seat 16-20 people. Just a couple of steps down the lawn were adirondack chairs, lounge chairs, and regular chairs available for guest use. There is a dock and a small sandy 'beach' entrance into the lake, which we loved, and a canoe and kayak available for guests too. The view from the shore is spectacular and the sunsets at night were great.
The cottage itself is what I would expect from a lake cottage - rustic with a lived-in feel, so no complaints there. The bed was quite comfortable (seemed pretty new to me), and there was ample space for us to unpack into dressers if we wanted, though we didn't choose to. The kitchen is a bit small and the living area not terribly comfortable, but it suited our needs since we spent most of our time outside enjoying the lake anyway. The cottage had good air conditioning, parking is fine, never had a problem finding a spot. Our dog was very welcomed and stayed outside with us most of the time. It was pretty much all families with kids in the other cottages, which was fine for us, but I know that's not the preference of every traveler.
Honestly the only complaint I have is that sometimes things were a little disorganized. For example, when we arrived at 7PM, no one was there to greet us, so I called Laura (they were out on their boat), she told us which cottage was ours and we unpacked. As we were getting ready to leave the next day for a bike ride, we realized we didn't have keys to the cottage, and we couldn't find Laura, so we just left. We never really had an 'introduction' to the property when we arrived, so we weren't sure what we were allowed to use, where we should put our pet's waste (we found a dumpster near where we parked), when we should pay our balance, if we needed to sign a rental contract, that kind of thing. (And we never did get keys, which Laura realized as we were leaving.) Whoops!
Regardless, we would absolutely stay here again, and recommend it to others without reservations
