About this property

Waterfront Camp On Webb Pond

Our three bedroom, one bath camp/ cottage on the waters edge of Webb Pond, sleeps 7 plus pull out sofa. We offer an updated camp with all the modern conveniences.

We have a new bathroom with a large shower, toilet, sink, washer and dryer. We also put in a new kitchen counter and sink. Smoke detector in all rooms, new windows with screens.
Wake up in the morning and have your coffee on the deck or down on the beach and watch the loons, ducks, and eagles. Drop a line in to fish or sit and read a book and relax.
Our camp has 3 bedrooms, two bedrooms have queen beds, the third has one single and a double bed. We have a very large open kitchen, dining, living area, plus a large enclosed porch overlooking the pond. Outside has dining table and a fire pit with adirondack chairs to enjoying, with easy access to shore to put in kayaks. There is also a beach for sun bathing, or a game of horseshoes.
Webb pond is a large 915 acre pond with a depth of 26 feet. With such a shallow depth there are some rocks which is not ideal for larger power boats, although some do water ski and tube. Making it a quiet and peaceful pond perfect for canoeing, kayaking and fishing. The pond has Brook trout, small mouth bass, white perch and pickerel. There is a small island about a ten to fifteen minute paddle from shore a great spot to take a picnic lunch or just explore. We have a nice beach in front of the camp where you can swim and cool off. The public beach is just 400 yards away which has sand beach and swim area.
The Franklin trading post store is 6 miles away which has basic supplies, milk, ice cream, cereal, etc. beer, wine, bait for fishing, plus offer breakfast and lunch to eat in or take out.
We have been renting our camp for five years, we have been renting our home in Bar Harbor since 2008, property #173759 if you would like to check reviews.

Quiet retreat from hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor
We enjoyed staying at the cabin on the pond. We had everything we needed, well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of towels. The location was great and close enough to explore Bar Harbor for a day or our favorite - Schoodic Peninsula. Great hosts!

Lakeside cabin/cottage
We enjoyed our stay. The house was somewhere between cabin and cottage - a great place to stay right on the lake.

Secluded, private, perfect
Stayed here while hiking in Acadia. It was a bit of a trek between the park and the cabin but well worth being able to unwind and relax after long days of hiking. While we never met the hosts because of our schedule (left early each day and returned late), they were great. Good communication including messages, emails, and even phone calls to make sure everything was good. And it was. I would happily stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

Wonderful two weeks stay...
My family and I had a wonderful two weeks stay at this updated traditional Maine camp. Traditionally a Maine camp had an outhouse in the backyard and bathing was the pond. This camp had a rather nice bathroom with warm water, shower, sink and toilet with a huge bonus of a washer and dryer. The camp was well equipped inside with all the things you need to set up a base camp for exploring the area or just relaxing at your home away from home. The camp was clean and very well stocked with all of the essentials. The camp is larger than what the pictures on the website show. There is plenty of room for a good-sized family. The very large front enclosed-in porch just adds so much more space to stretch out in. Augie and Maryellen, the owners, were very welcoming and just plain lovely people.

Peaceful and Relaxing
We were looking for a quiet cabin on a beautiful lake and we found it at Get Away Cove! It was everything we wanted from kayaking, fishing, swimming or just enjoying the beautiful surroundings and also close enough to all the amenities the Down East area has to offer. Escape your reality and enjoy the simple pleasures of Get Away Cove!

Great vacation spot.
The cabin is clean, well supplied, and comfortable. The owners are attentive and quick to respond to any concerns. The location is fantastic being off the beaten path but with easy access to all that coastal Maine has to offer, as well as an enjoyable place to hang out when it's a good day to stay close to home. Webb pond is a peaceful lake with good fishing. I recommend bringing or renting canoes or kayaks so you can enjoy getting out on the water.

July 2024 stay
We loved it. Really want to book again. Close to Bar Harbor & lots of good stuff. Owners are awesome. The DVD player broke, no fault of theirs, they replaced immediately. They’re also just super nice people. Kids caught fish every morning. When they fished in the afternoon they caught nothing. We called them morning fish LoL. Quote from my 2 boys “ this was our best vacation so far “. Age 11-14 boys. We would definitely stay again and probably will.

Stay at hidden cove
My stay at hidden cove was great. The cottage was nice and clean with many amenities available. They are great host. It is more of gateway from your routine city lifestyle as there is no Wi-Fi but we were able to use our phones with no issues. Overall the stay was good , only if the host would have responded to my emails or return my phone calls timely. Otherwise, would definitely recommend to stay and experience the stay close to the lake.

Wonderfully relaxing vacation
Webb Pond presented us with a location perfect for our needs. The children enjoyed swimming and fishing in a calm and beautiful setting and even befriended a mallard family. We adults never had to worry about their safety (although of course we watched closely). The camp was spacious--even more so than it appeared in the photos--and well-supplied. We knew we would love it from the moment we stepped in--and then we got a close-up look at a pair of bald eagles and heard the otherworldly loon calls. Augie and MaryEllen were helpful and responsive. We certainly hope to return in future years!

Great cabin on a lake!
Cabin was great! Right on the lake. All the tourist traps are close enough to drive to each day if you want (and we did). Ellsworth isn't too far away for supplies. They had about everything you need (except food) right in the cabin (including coffee-which we left another container). Definitely make sure you bring bug spray, those Maine mosquitoes will carry you away! Only "negative" is that the cabin gets very hot in the afternoons which can be rough if you're just trying to relax for the day. Otherwise we loved it and our kids were begging us to move there.

Great time with family
The location was perfect. My grandson's enjoyed the pond so much. Fishing was great. Loved watching them enjoying it so much. The sofa bed should really be replace. Could not set or sleep on it. Need a few more forks. The TV sound seems to be going. Sometimes we could get sound and sometimes we could not. As long as the weather is good not a problem. However, on rainy days it can be frustrating. I would differently book again. Really nice place. Not complaining, just letting you know.

4 days on Webb Pond
This is a lovely rustic cabin. It is very spacious. The host reached out to to us before we arrived, he was easy to reach and very helpful if we had a question . The cabin appears to be largely uninsulated, if not completely uninsulated. We were there during an unseasonably cold spell, but there is a propane space heater which did a satisfactory job of keeping the space comfortable. There is a large enclosed porch, which we unfortunately couldn’t enjoy because of the chilly weather, but it would be wonderful when the weather is better. The kitchen is well stocked with essential cooking equipment. We’d definitely stay here again if we vacation in the area again.

About the host

Hosted by Maryellen/August Lozano

Host profile image
I (Maryellen) was born in this area and grew up here. I was raised in Trenton Maine and now live in Bar Harbor with my husband Augie. Augie was born in New York City and came here to meet my parents before we got married and fell in love with the area. We have been living here together since 1987. We both enjoy the beauty of Acadia National Park with all it has to offer, hiking and biking trails, and the ocean activities. We enjoy the pond canoeing and kayaking. We know the area well and would be happy helping you with your plans for your vacation.

Why they chose this property

This camp is an escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. When you are here you feel as if you are a hundred miles from anything but you can be back in the city of Ellsworth in 20 minute or in beautiful Acadia Park in 45 minutes. If you are looking to relax and enjoy the wonders of nature this is the place for you.
