Big water lakefront with sunset views, large deck, private dock and boat ramp

Relax and enjoy lake life on both big water and a cypress tree-lined cove in a 3 bedroom / 3 bath home out in the country. Be near hunting lodges, golf courses and one of the best inland birding areas in the southeast (Santee National Refuge - Pine Island). Great location for a church/business retreat, family vacation, or hunting/fishing/birding adventure!

Wonderfully stocked kitchen and furnished home, including ring doorbell/flood light and Amazon Alexa, with fire pit on secluded cul-de-sac surrounded by nature. Mature trees provide shade perfect for a hammock to enjoy the lake breezes or take a nap on the covered porch bed swing. Enjoy a game of basketball, volleyball, tetherball, ping pong, darts, and board games while grilling next to large patio deck ready for a picnic.

Master bedroom (downstairs) has a king bed and full futon, upstairs bedroom has a king bed and full futon, and bedroom over garage has four twins (not bunked). Three bathrooms have showers.

Boat ramp is accessed through carport (11.5 wide x 7.5 tall). If bringing a boat, please contact me. Fishing off dock is great...several people suggested to not throw fish remains back into lake as it will attract turtles who will take your bait. The big water can get rough, and Lake Marion has some unique features...best to research or hire a guide. The cove is good for tying up boat but best to pull boat out when not in use. No tying up boat or other floating objects, or installing rod holders, etc, to deck or wall. Use provided boat tie points near ramp.

Little Blue Heron Heaven

My young son and I loved this cozy place. It had several somethings for the both of us. It was convenient to town if you want to go grab something to eat. The hosts provided everything needed including a goodie bag with s’mores for the fire pit! They were very nice to communicate with and detailed/thorough in everything. The view was amazing! I loved this trip very much! Thank you for the memories!

Mom's 90th birthday getaway

I wanted to find a place for us to go and just relax and enjoy each other. Little Blue Heron fit the bill on the website and far exceeded all of our expectations once we were there! It was a slice of heaven and the last thing Mom said was she wants to come back again in the fall! I couldn't have found a better place. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay there!

New to the lake... perfect vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Little Blue Heron. Our family that stayed consisted of 5 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room, and then some for everyone. The master bedroom is just exceptional - walk-in closet, office, private bath with a very large room. The upstairs queen was spacious as well. It shared a large bathroom with the other suite that also has its own staircase. Everything you will ever need, this property has. We enjoyed sitting outside in the swing that overlooks the backyard and lake. It's relaxing, and I just cannot say enough about this property. Thank you Andy and family!

Perfect for 3 Generations

We had a great time. I booked this for Fathers Day to take my family and my in-laws. The owner was very responsive, this fishing was great and my 8 year old loved all the games and ping-pong. Would definitely come here again.

2023 Summer Vacation

The property was perfect for our family!! Plenty of games and activities to stay busy and still the opportunity to relax as well. Great location with a really nice boat ramp and lake access to fish or just hang out!! I can see us making this our new summer vacation rental.

5-Star Lake House - Great views of Lake Marion!

Stayed at Little Blue Heron for a guys golf trip. House was the perfect setup for us and had everything we needed. The owner was very nice and quick to respond to questions I had before our arrival. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to other renters.

Great start, bad ending

The location is great and the owner is very responsive. This was our second time staying. The first year, we had a minor plumbing issue and had to stop using one of the bathroom halfway though our stay. This second visit was a major plumbing issue. They did try to fix it, but it couldn’t be done. We couldn’t shower or use the restroom at the end of our trip. The house smelled like sewer due to the issue and we mopped floors with towels multiple times trying to save the floors from being damaged.

Great Vacation Lake Home!

The host was great, the property was amazing, and the family memories are priceless! I painstakingly searched for a nice place with easy access for a short family vacation. I had a few contenders, but I finally took a leap of faith and selected Little Blue Heron. I was more than pleasantly surprised by my choice. The property is beautiful, secluded and very, very peaceful. This place had everything. You won't go wrong with a stay here!

Home away from home, just better!

Feels like home, but looks like paradise. So tranquil and fun at the same time. The view alone is the best part. We didn't leave the entire time except to go on our boat. Plenty to do for adults and children. Kids had a blast. Owner's we're wonderful and so accommodating. This was our second visit, and we can't wait to book again! I cannot boast enough on the owner's, they really do go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. They truly care for their tenants.

Nice Lake Home

My golf buddies and I have stayed here the last two years. The house is very nice and accurately described on their listing. We did not take advantage of the lake, hot tub or firepit, which would be great for some folks. We look forward to coming here every year.

Relaxation At It's Best

This place has everything you need. All you need to pack is some clothing. Host checks in to make sure everything is going smoothly. Enjoyed fishing and the fire pit. Hope to visit again soon.

Wonderful!!

We absolutely loved this place! The accommodations were great, the game room was so much fun, the hot tub was a added bonus and the fishing off the dock was GREAT! Not to mention the amazing views of the lake. We will most definitely stay here again!!

amazing stay

If you miss this one you have missed an amazing vacation top of the line everything!! even toilet paper furnished. The host is amazing- welcome smores for your first night-so nice to be able to relax and enjoy the smores and the lake after a long drive .you could walk off an airplane and everything you need would be there except for your groceries which is just a sort distance away. the home is so clean and beautifully decorated and the beds are so comfortable. Don't miss this vacation home- it has everything for everybody !!

We loved our stay at the Blue Heron. It was the perfect lake house. Communication with the owners was top notch and they were very accommodating. The house was clean and the beds slept well. This is a home we will revisit.

About the host

We live in Charleston (about an hour drive) with our two sons and occasionally daughter (away at College).

Why they chose this property

We wanted to be close to Charleston and on water where we could spend the evenings watching the sunsets from our back porch rocking chairs. We have several great friends that live nearby this rural location (also on the lake) and so we targeted this area to retire in a few years. The previous owner is a wonderful craftsman who put a lot of love into this house. We are looking forward to making this our forever home and raising grandkids (hopefully around 2030).

What makes this property unique

Quiet country area on Lake Marion with great views of sunsets over expansive water. Home site provides close proximity to excellent bird/wildlife sanctuary, golfing, hunting, and fishing/water sports.
