Cozy/Cute Tiny House close to wineries, wedding venues & outdoor fun
Tom Dooley’s Hideout is located at the Gateway to the hill country, just minutes west of Dripping Springs off of hwy 290. It’s a unique 4 acre property with 5 modern tiny houses that sit on open range with free grazing livestock which occasionally show up as they do not belong to us. This tiny house comfortably sleeps 2 on a queen bed but we do have a sofa/futon that's great for kids. Enjoy sitting on the porch or at the picnic table under the trees to kick back and relax on a cool evening. We do allow pet guests but want to note that there is a $40 fee PER pet PER night so please be sure and include them on your reservation.

Great location to the venue. I was charged 120 for a pet fee. When I arrived it had notice pet fee was 40 and to pay. Why was I charged triple? Cow patties everywhere.
We LOVED our little space! We were greeted by cows upon arrival across the road, they were so cute! The only thing that would have made our space a bit better is more storage so we could tuck the bags and stuff away... we always have too much stuff because of camera gear and jiu jitsu gear! LOL! Also, we enjoyed the food recommendations! We love the hill country and will definitely be back!
The house is beautiful! We stayed in the Alice cabin, which is closer to the road than I'd expected, but it still felt private and quiet. The owners provided nice toiletries, bottled water, and snacks. The skies were full of stars on a clear night. The house is close to lots of stuff to do and see.
One con: my adult daughter chose to sleep on the futon instead of in the bed with me. The bed had only sheets and one light duvet, and I didn't see anything extra anywhere in the house. When I asked the owners to drop off some more bedding, I was told that "per the listing" there would be a $40 charge. I may have missed it, but I still can't find this detail in the listing, and in any case, charging extra ($40!) for bedding we're using for a few nights is ludicrous. I declined and slept with nothing but a sheet on the first night and bought a cheap blanket for the second night.
The house had everything we needed. I was grateful that there was a coffee pot and even sugar for my coffee. Many homes we have rented do not have sugar. It was also nice that bottled water and snacks were provided.
It was a nice location, easy to get to the things we wanted to do and very quiet.
The bathroom was very nice; not “tiny” and had soap, shampoo & conditioner, towels, and TP, everything needed.
All the windows made the space very bright and the shades were great when we wanted more privacy.
Perfect place for a quick getaway to visit vineyards. Very relaxing and quaint town. Plenty of attractions to see. Would love to come back with friends and rent several of the tiny houses.
Close to many wedding venues, breweries and wineries, as well as all the fun of Austin, in a quite, rural setting. It’s a perfect place for those planning daily excursions and who are just needing a place to rest your head at night before venturing out again the next day!
The place had a cool modern vibe and I loved how clean it was. I’ve stayed at many rental home for business and this was clearly taken care of down to each detail.
We had the best stay in the Alice cabin. It was in perfect proximity to the wedding venue we attended as well as a quick trip down to Fredericksburg. So clean and perfect for a weekend getaway! It rained during our time and hearing the rain on the roof was just an added bonus.
This was a amazing stay, It was clean, so quiet and comfortable. We had both our our dogs with us and we loved sitting on the front porch watching it rain. The bed was great!! We would def. stay there again.
We loved the cabin and it was the best for my husbands birthday getaway! Was super clean, in a beautiful area, and felt tucked away in nature! Great host communication too!
This Tiny Home was Fantastic!! Super clean, private, safe, relaxing, easy check in, and affordable!! This is the first time I've gone Non-Hotel so was a little nervous... But my wife and I were Thrilled, and will go this route everytime now!!
Lovey little get away! Trevor was very kind, and let us know about the road closures ahead of time so we weren’t surprised. Our little 4 legged friend loved the property too!
The house is exactly as described in the listing, and was the perfect spot for exploring the area. Comfortable bed, great shower, and everything you could need in the kitchen. The large windows really make the space feel huge. Great wifi and check in was simple. The property manager was very responsive to my questions. The location was beautiful, private but close to restaurants and activities.
We had a great time in the Alice cabin! The bed was cozy and warm while the room was so cool, which was a great reprieve from the heat outside. The shower is nice and big. The hot water lasted a while. The coffee, water, and snacks provided were great for our hike out to pedernales falls and roaming around the neighboring towns. The cabin felt very private and safe which is perfect for our getaway from the city.

About the host
Hosted by Trevor Cutler
I grew up just a few miles down the road in the neighboring town of Buda, TX. My family has deep roots in and around this county as my dad (partner in these cabins) has been the county sheriff for the past decade. I have spent my entire career in the architecture and construction industry which is how I can to build these tiny custom homes. We truly love the Texas Hill Country and wanted to provide a special place for others to enjoy as well.
Why they chose this property
The Texas Hill Country has so much to offer with mild winters, beautiful spring and fall seasons mixed with the occasional 100 degree day in the summers. Dripping Springs TX happens to actually be the wedding capital of Texas with countless venues within 15 minutes in any direction. The area also has to offer numerous vineyards, breweries and distilleries for all tastes. We decided to offer a place for guests to come and experience this piece of Texas. I had the cabins custom designed to build for tomorrow's look not today's.
