We stayed here as part of a weekend adventure at House On the Rock, but it would be a great place to just relax with friends or family. The vibe is very much like you're staying at your Aunt's place. The house is extremely cozy. The game room has an excellent assortment of activities, there are gas fireplaces in 3 different gathering spaces and the lighting is adaptable and soft. If you're more of a technology and entertainment group, there is wifi and a smart TV in nearly every room. I would have preferred fewer glowing LEDs and fuller curtains to keep the light out in the room I slept in, and unscented laundry products on the sheets, but I was able to sleep comfortably. Would recommend this property, and it was too chilly for us to even use the new patio area and firepit, I'm jealous of people who book in nicer weather!
Had a good stay. Basement smelled moldy, they had air fresheners going trying to cover up the smell, but the smell was still there. My wife and I were feeling a bit sick towards the end of our 3 night stay and blame it on the mold
This place and owner where amazing and we will for sure return to stay.
The owner was extremely welcoming and responded quickly to any questions we had.
The place is very well set up for just hanging out or entertaining. The different areas of the home let every one come together and spread out to there own privet area. The yard and area is massive and beautiful.
There is a community nature park less then 2 min down the road that has multiple hiking trails. The town of Richland center is less then 15 minutes up the road which has a super walmart and a few other stores.
Try La Fritanga, Latín Food if your looking for a very good restaurant, in the area the food, and service was very good.
Over all one of the top places my family and i have stayed at.
Very nice house in the country. Host met us at check in and gave us a tour. Lots of games and activities for kids. House is near Richland Center and Muscoda, which is right on the Wisconsin River.
This was exactly what I wanted for a weekend getaway with friends. It was close to House on the Rock. Mary made everything easy and made us feel at home. The snacks provided at check in were a nice touch. All the cozy blankets and fire places made me happy. The beds were comfortable. It would be nice to return in the warmer months to take better advantage of the patio and the game room.
I hesitate to write a review that will potentially make it difficult to book in the future, but we will.
The cabin is beautiful and the pictures do not do justice to the beautiful sunlight that enters windows in living area and kitchen.
The host is incredibly accomodating and helpful.
The view from cabin and sunset is peaceful.
The game room was such an added bonus!
Kids sled, we had campfire outside, played games inside, hiked Ash Forest down the road.
Richland Center is so close. We bowled at the Phoenix.
Rent this place. You wont regret.
We enjoyed this charming country home with our teenage children and dog. The game room was great for fun family bonding and home had everything we needed for a wonderful relaxing weekend!! The hosts saw to every detail, including a toboggan sled!!
If you want a get away from city life of being to close to your neighbor. This is the place for you. Rolling countryside trees and all the open space you can see. Daily walks around the property and see deer out your windows. At night the fire pit will allow you to cook your meals and just sit and listen. Great place.
Last minute getaway to celebrate multiple birthdays and family time together. The home was absolutely perfect for us and we would definitely consider staying again.
Wonderful hosts at this getaway in the hills of southwestern Wisconsin. The game room was a hit for my family. Our hosts provided excellent suggestions for activities in the area. It was exactly the getaway we were looking for. THANK YOU 😊
This property had it all. It was close to town, but yet we felt like we were miles away. Had a huge area for our dogs to enjoy...the paths in the woods were excellent. Property had all we needed to keep my teens busy! We will be returning!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Mary was very accessible, walked us through on arrival. House and property were clean and comfortable. We loved the outdoor patio with hammocks and fire pit! Beds and furniture very clean and comfortable, plenty of space for our family of 5 and dogs to stretch out. The kids LOVED the game room, spent many hours playing air hockey, pool, ping pong, etc. -- as well as the many family games provided. Kitchen had everything we needed, and the grill was clean and easy. Easy access to both Richland Center and Muscoda, with the WI River and Pine River both nearby. Overall a great visit, and would highly recommend.
Older farm home but still in very good condition. Home is very clean with clean and comfortable furniture and beds (we only used the queen bed). Kitchen has plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware and pots and pans. Mary (the owner) keeps refrigerator cleaned out so you have lots of room for your own food. Mary met us when we arrived and gave a short tour of the home and was easy to get ahold of during our stay and responded quickly to any questions. Game room has lots of things to play and all things are in great condition. To go from the garage, which we could use for our car, you do have to go up stairs to get to the main living area. Relaxing on the deck or by the fire pit you have a beautiful view and is very quiet ( except for a rare car on the highway). Property is mowed so you can enjoy a short walk and enjoy the sounds of nature. Would like to go back sometime in the fall to enjoy the colors of all the trees in a beautiful area of Wisconsin. The only negative thing we have on the home is there isn't central A/C right now. The home is cooled with portable units which do work well. If you go and the temperature isn't in the 90's A/C wouldn't need to be used.
This house and the property it sits on is so lovely. It was out in the quiet, but a short drive to the Dells for family fun. We really enjoyed our stay, and the game room this house offers for our boys!
