An incredible 3 bedroom , 2bath, plus bunkhouse with bathroom. well-appointed 2-story house with wrap around porch and large dining room to seat 10. There is an attached western themed bunkhouse and full bath. A side patio with a cedar covered arbor and bar looking out over gorgeous landscapes of Canyon Lake and 40 acres of pasture land. A wonderful, secluded place behind a private, gated entry to unwind and enjoy the Texas Hill Country.

Comfortable beds, chic linens and decor, ceiling fans and stenciled walls make this your 'home away from home'.Master bedroom has queen, adjustable, massaging bed, flat screen TV. Take a deep breath and relax to the sounds of trees rustling in the breeze, walks along the property, birding at a nearby Bird Sanctuary, feeding the deer or looking at nearby Dinosaur tracks. Watch the Texas stars at night, big and bright from a great stone patio with a fireplace, colored lights and 3 picnic tables.

A fantastic place for creating memories whether it be for family get togethers, winter visitors, small weddings or just romantic getaways.

Nearby boat ramps rent jet skiis, party boats, or bring your own and park them in front of the Rancho. Tubing on the Guadalupe is 15 minutes away or head into New Braunfels for antiquing. Schliterbahn is a short distance away as is the Canyon Lake Gorge adventure (reservations needed). The Dinosaur Museum is 10 minutes from the house.

Great Place!

This is our second time staying at this property. The setting is lovely, and it feels very private. For a quiet place to relax, this house is hard to beat. Short walk to the water and short drive to basic amenities. Lots of wildlife in the area. Highly recommend!

Great Time

Our family had a nice weekend at this property. There was plenty of room for everyone. The outdoor spaces were great! Nice patio area with grills and tables. Big porches. Very quiet and secure neighborhood. Our suggestion for an even better experience: the house needs a thorough cleaning and organizing of closets/removal of clutter. The description could emphasize there is an upstairs and the house has several stairs to enter (unless I missed this in the description). Otherwise the house is very inviting and large enough to accommodate a crowd. We had a great time exploring and enjoying outdoor time in a place that has obviously been well loved and has provided many happy times for families. Many games and opportunities for kids and adults alike were provided.

Not as expected :(

Had high hopes, but not as expected. Entry codes given were wrong/backwards. Took a while to get a hold of the owner, finally figured it out on our own about 20 minutes later. Property, peaceful, but house could use some maintenance. Kitchen faucet still not fixed since mentioned in an older review. Little far from water, especially during drought. Outside handrail next to driveway is a hazard with loose sections, sharp wood and rusty nails. House, quaint, with very small kitchen and even smaller refrigerator. Bunk offers little privacy for shower with only curtains, no door. Porch furniture tired, seat cushions stink. Two small fryers plugged on one outlet on the exterior of the storage shed will cause a breaker to flip. Hence, you will be without "city water," as Sharon, housekeeper/manager who has taken care of the place for eight years is certain that there is no well pump. How you can turn city water on with the flip of a breaker switch is beyond me. All could have been resolved quickly if owner would have called me as requested, as texting was not getting us anywhere and housekeeper/manager was difficult to work with, people skills are lacking. Good points, Canyon Lake was awesome. The view was nice and the deer were plentiful. Paved driveway was very nice. Beds were comfortable and deck was nice. More importantly, my family served the unnecessary stress.

Wonderful and serene getaway

Lovely property and house with access to the lake and river and lots of privacy. Really enjoyed the outdoor wrap around porch and the side terrace with multiple picnic tables, gas grille and outdoor fire pit.

The perfect weekend !!

We enjoyed very much our weekend! The house/cabin offers an open space inside for family sharing with a big dinning room and cozy living room. We had lots of sleeping options too. We were 5 and the place have room for 10. Super clean and cool decoration in every room. Outside you have an area for barbeque and tables for birthdays celebration. There’s a nice river view and the deer are wondering close to the house. I will go back very soon hopefully!!

Better than the pictures

We absolutely loved our stay. One day in we knew we wanted to stay an extra night. The owner was very easy to get in touch with and we booked an extra night. The pictures don’t do this place justice. Rooms are good size, place is clean. Our biggest drawback is the water isn’t as easily accessible as we had hopped. However, we are already talking about our next trip and will be more prepared to have what we need to access the lake.

Nice little stay

We wanted a chance to disconnect from the world and recharge and this is exactly what we were able to do with this cute place. It is secluded and away from people and traffic. The view is beautiful and the atmosphere was confortable. We went to Schlitterbahn one of our days there and it was about 30 minutes away, which I liked the closeness of the park. There is a lake nearby where some of us fished on 1 day and the other day we just went to go see the huge tree that you can swing from and jump in the water. Deer come by everyday and even though I’ve seen deer, for them to be that close-it was awesome. There quite a lot of nearby stores and restaurants that if you forget something you can go buy, the local Lowe’s supermarket is pricey and you’re better off driving a little bit more to shop at H-E-B if buying a lot of groceries. The kitchen had just about everything from spices, oil, dishwashing soap, Lysol, pots, pans, silverware, pretty much everything that you need for everyday cooking. I’m used to having to buy all that stuff so we bought what the kitchen already had. Sharon-the house cleaner was there a cleaning when we got there so she gave us sone helpful tips and the 411 of the area-very helpful. All in all it was a nice little getaway. We were 2 couples, 4 young adults, 1 teenager and an infant and we all fit and had room for 2 more.

Perfect Family Getaway

Everyone had such a great time! We have a wide age range of kiddos, from almost 2 to 22 and in between. They all had fun exploring, playing in the creek, swimming in the lake and just enjoying the porch and watching all the deer. It was so peaceful and the porch is perfectly situated so you can enjoy it even in the heat of the day! Plenty of room to spread out to sleep, and I loved the open kitchen/living/dining so we could all hang out while cooking as well. The pictures don't do it justice!

Great Stay

Our families had a great stay for Memorial weekend. The kids had an awesome time and my 18 year old son enjoyed the privacy of the bunk room. The air condition decided to go out the second night we were there, although a quick call to Carol and she was able to have someone in to get it fixed on a Sunday, Wow! Sharon was amazing and had purchased several fans like 6 for each room just in case it wasn't able to get fixed. I can't say enough very nice stay, close to everything, would definitely stay again!

One of our favorite rentals!

This is one of our new favorite locations in hill country! This house has access to both the lake and a river, and it is very private with lots of land. We shared the house with our friends and our kids had a blast. We will definitely come back in the future!

Beautiful House and Area!

The house and area was amazing! Plenty of room and very clean! The area around the house was lovely! The trees were turning colors and just beautiful. Owner was responsive and helpful. One of my sons even caught a large fish right by the house. The nearby Dry Comal Creek winery is beautiful and a lot of fun. Look forward to returning.

Boating Weekend

Great! The house is comfortable and cozy. Great towels! Great views from the porch, nice access to a small part of the lake! Love the out door sitting areas. Minor issue: the kitchen faucet was lose, spun around as we used it We would recommend it and stay there again!
