Sterling Sands enjoys an ideal location in the heart of Destin & is convenient to shopping, golf, the airport, Big Kahunas Water Park, and the numerous restaurants in the area.
Sterling Sands is directly across the street from The Track Recreation area, and several walk to restaurants. Other attractions are over 200 holes of golf within 10 miles, 4 miles to Destin Harbor and home of the largest Charter Fishing Fleet in the Gulf of Mexico, 7 miles to the largest named brand shopping outlet in Silver Sands Shopping Outlet, and more restaurants per capita than any other area in Florida. Stunning

Perfect beach days!

We stay in this unit every year. When we arrived two of the bathrooms were not clean. When I called the property manager she had the cleaning person call me back. Other than that issue, we thoroughly enjoed our stay and look forward to booking again in the future.

Look elsewhere. The place was not clean and even bugs in the bed. I can go on and on. Save yourself. There’s plenty of great places to choose from.

My happy place!

Love the condo layout and amenities! Location is perfect! Cleaners need to clean thoroughly. Its su ch a beautiful place, but more meticulous cleaning would make it perfect! We stay here every year and will book again!

Beautiful Space with Amazing Views

This room was wonderful and fit our needs perfectly! The space was clean and welcoming. The amenities were perfect and it felt like home. Overall, the room was great, the views were spectacular, and we were able to settle in and relax as a family. Unfortunately, I do have just a couple of critiques. The washer worked great but the dryer struggled a bit and was VERY LOUD. It rattled and made quite a bit of noise to the point where it was hard to hear others talk over it. The only other complaint was the master showers. While elegant and beautiful, the pressure from the "rain head" style shower was just not enough to feel like we could actually wash and get cleaned. Overall though, I would 100% recommend. It was a wonderful space, beautiful and clean, with amazing views.

Sterling Sands 2023

Enjoyed our stay in this condo. We arrived a little early so when I texted Reese and asked when could we expect the door code, he texted back the condo was ready and the code. We always like getting settled in that first day, so that was great!! The condo has a very modern sense to it and was very clean. Everything also seemed to be in good working order, no problems with any appliances or air conditioner. I really only have a few things that could be improved upon. First, the shower in the the master bedroom is fully open with no walls, and the pocket door didn't lock right, so if small kids walking in on you is an issue....beware! Plus the rain shower head had almost no pressure, so we had to rely on the handheld wand to take a shower. It's pressure was great, but with no shower walls, you had to be careful not to spray the rest of the bathroom! They also apparently remodeled the big suite and moved the entry way through the little laundry room. This created alot of space in the suite for a little kitchenette and minifridge of its own, so that was nice. However, the door to room and the bifold door for the washer/dryer area get in each others way. Plus, we had a toddler in that room, so we all had to be really quiet in the kitchen and laundry room during nap time. None of these issues made our stay any less enjoyable, and we would not hesitate to stay in the same condo next year should we come back to Destin.

Spacious and a beautiful view of the beach. Need cleaned though!

We were thrilled with the location although traffic is a nightmare, but not the fault of the property. We had plenty of room even though the booking said it was 4 bedroom and was actually only 3. There were several things in the unit that were broken or did not work. The microwave was broken, the dryer didn’t dry anything even after several rounds, and the jacuzzi tub in one of the bedrooms didn’t plug so you couldn’t actually fill the tub but there wasn’t enough hot water to fill either jacuzzi tub anyway. Our biggest issue though, was the cleanliness of the unit and property. I don’t know who they’re paying a cleaning fee to but they’re not worth it! There was a thick layer of dust all over everything! The sheets in one of our rooms weren’t dry when we got there, the floors were filthy and the bedding they hadn’t washed beforehand smelled terrible! They don’t wash the pillow shams and blankets apparently, just the sheets. The walkways, stairs and elevators are also very gross and dirty. It’s a shame the cleanliness isn’t up to par with the unit itself because it truly is a beautiful condo, just needs someone to clean it that actually does their job. Must say though, when the ac stopped working in one of our rooms we called the property manager and they had someone up to fix it. Also the beach, fitness center and pool are all clean and great! Just a little PSA though, mine and my daughter’s shoes were stolen off the walkway to the beach where everyone leaves their shoes at. Just don’t set your stuff down where you can’t see it.

Beautiful sunsets

Condo was great, especially for two families. The condo was very clean and had extra wine/drink cooler in the den. We saw dolphins from the balcony. One downside was the dryer, it took forever to dry clothes. Overall, very pleased with this condo.

Beautiful property with everything you need for a beach vacation. It's under new management and I hope they will continue the high standards set by the previous owner! This is our go to location every summer! Had a wonderful week!

Looks just like the pictures

Unit 714 looks just like the pictures.. Beautiful condo with a beautiful view. The three bedroom unit was perfect for grandparents, mom and dad and grandkids all with our separate spaces and bathrooms. Although, I don’t understand the huge mirrors in the showers. Not what I want to look at while I’m showering. Had a few very minor issues which were reported to the HOA, but we’re never taken care of. Our real estate agent Reese, was wonderful to work with and very responsive. I wish I would have booked directly through her and not VRBO. I could have saved quite a bit of money. The price of the condo was reasonable. All the taxes and fees that are tacked on are not. VRBO is almost impossible to find a person to connect with if you have questions or need help. I don’t think I would ever book through them again. Go directly to the real estate agent if you can. Saves you money and frustration. I would definitely stay in this unit again. The building itself felt safe and secure and pretty well located. There were issues with one of the elevators being broken down for about half our stay. Otherwise we had a great time and I would not hesitate recommending this place.

The room was dirty had to wash all the sheets and cover as soon. As we got there they were filthy . All of the condo needed dusting had not been vacuumed my son Found an IV #20 needle in the master bedroom rug beds need updated mattresses they were hard and lumpy from age . Location was great beach service great .

Amazing !!!

We loved our stay !!! The place was super nice and clean ! Close to all the attractions. Management was very helpful with all our questions. We will definitely chose this property again! The only negative was the 3rd bedroom was not what the pictures showed. It showed a queen bed and it was a queen bed with a bunk over top. My advise is to rent your chairs for the whole week. They book up fast.

Unit 214 & 214A

I had to request check in information as we were driving into Destin because I had not received it. Check in instructions were very vague and there wasn’t any one on the property (maintenance) that we were instructed to find. When we got to our condo, it had not been checked to make sure things were working properly and we had no A/C and the outside furniture was sitting in the main bedroom and the living room. The property manager did send an AC guy out and it was fixed pretty quickly. The next morning we left super early for an excursion and when we got back, the door code had been changed and we couldn’t get back into our room. We were also told our condo came with chair and umbrella service, but when we went down to get it, we were told our condo owner had not paid her bill and we couldn’t use the service. Again, it was taken care of, but it was an inconvenience and I believe if we pay in advance, then they should have everything ready. We were given a small refund and a check was delivered to our condo. The problem with this was, the check was not on the bar when we went to bed, and no one in the condo answered the door that morning, so my assumption is that someone let themselves into that it condo while we were all asleep which I find very disturbing. Lastly, our check out time was at 10 am and at 9:45 while were still taking our stuff out of the condo and double checking we had everything, the cleaning lady came in and started cleaning while we were there! I paid until 10 am and should have had until 10am. The condo was nice and the property manager was good, but be cautious when booking this one.

This place was fantastic!

Location was perfect! Access to the beach was perfect! The view...OMG! The shower might have been our favorite part! Literally couldn't have chosen a better place to stay! It was roomy and comfortable for our family of 7, with THREE TEENAGE GIRLS! We were worried we were going to get a lot of rain the week we were there, and I honestly wouldn't have even cared because we could have created our own little spa day in our condo! My special needs son even loved it and wanted to stay inside most of the time. We were EXTREMELY happy with our stay.

Condo layout worked perfectly for us. It was nice being on the second floor so we could use the stairs and avoid the elevator. We found the condo to be clean and well appointed.
