Weaverton is a unique log and stone home built in 2002 but was designed as a reproduction from 3 different time periods in the Shenandoah Valley located in between the beautiful Blue Ridge and Allegheny Mountains in Virginia: a log cabin from the 1750’s; a Hessian Stone addition to represent the 1800’s; and an early Victorian wing from the 1850’s. Perfectly and carefully placed on 12 rural acres of rolling fields along with a wooded area in the back of the property, Weaverton is a dream come true for the designers and builders. The logs were dismantled from a 200 year old bank barn. Stone from the foundation of the barn was used to build the massive stone chimney and fireplace. With attention to every detail, each room in Weaverton tells a story. The large family room is equipped with a stone fireplace and flooring using historic bricks. Baskets hanging from the overhead beams along with woven rugs gives that country feel but a large screen television with fiber optic internet service and an oversized sectional sofa provide convenience and comfort. The full kitchen is home to custom cabinetry and is spacious for the entire family to enjoy meals together. Weaverton is furnished with all your kitchen dinnerware and cooking utensils needs. The main level master suite has an antique king bed and accompanying drawers/dressers. Connected to the master bedroom is a full bath including large soaking, jetted tub, walk-in shower and two separate vanities along with a dressing area. The upper level contains a bedroom with a queen bed and twin bed. An adjoining loft area with queen bed is also connected to a full size bath. All beds are displayed with antique quilts. A favorite spot at Weaverton is the oversized covered “rocking chair” porch that overlooks cascading waterfalls. The many flower gardens are home to hundreds of brilliant daylillies. Relaxation takes on a whole new meaning when you are sitting by the garden, listening to the music of the water in harmony with the chirping of the birds as you take in the views of the Blue Ridge Mountains off in a distance.

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend at this amazing property! The house was everything it was touted to be and more. The fireplace in the main room was great, and the porch overlooking the waterfall feature was a great place to relax and take in the fall colors. We prepared two meals in the well-appointed kitchen and found everything we needed. We look forward to returning in the future.
We are a family of 4 and had a lovely stay at Weaverton. The home is quite large and built and decorated staying true to history. We loved the sound of the water feature and spend most of our time on the patio. Our boys loved the large field. Amy offered several recommendations for biking, horseback riding, hiking, and dining, which we appreciated and those complimented our trip very well. We hope to return to Weaverton, and in the meatime, have many fond memories.
We stayed at Weaverton for two nights as we attended a wedding at nearby Cross Keys vineyard. Amy is a great host, providing great information before and constant support during our stay. If you have business or pleasure in the area, Weaverton is a unique, cool choice. We are already planning another trip with the idea of using Weaverton for both sports car and motorcycle touring of the Blue Ridge. With the Parkway and Skyline Drive nearby, and a perfect porch to relax on post rides, Weaverton is the perfect base camp.
The sights and sounds combine the reality of what we've achieved as humans from settlers and pioneers to farming, equipment and auto manufacturing. Though the interstate traffic faintly reminded us of reality, the passing tractors and farmers down on the road below offer the reality of the work that is done on each of our behalves daily...then there is the house. Reassembled, reclaimed, refurbished, renewed, hailing to the Hessian stonework and homesteaders woodworking skills of the past, enjoy the inventions of heat, air, and internet while thanking your lucky stars you exactly where you are in life with nothing more and nothing less. It is well with my soul is the verse around the house and is it ever true!
We loved this quaint cabin on the hill. Breathtaking views, cozy interior, perfect for our group of 5. Kitchen not really set-up for a group of foodies, but we made do with what they had. Family room was great to hang and watch tv or just sit around and chat, so cute and cozy. Master shower wasn't super clean but nothing to cringe about. Unfortunately, our weather was pretty poor the entire visit so we were unable to enjoy the big porch much. Maybe next time! Overall, would highly recommend.
