Lovely large, well-appointed flat with stunning views
Pros: well-appointed flat, with large bedrooms, two- modern bathrooms, a large well equipped kitchen, and a nice living room to relax; the view from the grounds are breathtaking, with Montepulciano and Pienza in the distance; a lovely walking trail (45 minute hike) takes you into San Quirico; San Q makes a great day trip. Lots of parking.
Cons: Initial access to the house is overly complicated and requires a stop into San Q to provide passports. This meant leaving a car full of luggage in a public lot in plain view to walk into town. We proceeded to a wine shop where filled in the passport (and sampled some wine). The gentleman was very nice. He then called a 2nd gent to escort us to the house. The gentleman was very gracious but spoke no English so could tell us nothing about the house. We were instructed to call a telephone number with any questions, but I didn’t have a working cell phone number. I did have internet and had email, What’s app and iMessage all working which would have easily solved this problem, but a voice call was the only option I was given. A book of instructions, a GPS location for the house, and a lock box for the key could have made initial access a whole lot easier, and since someone took us there anyway, they could have instead met us there and picked up the passport details then.
There are two (smaller) other flats in the house which can be a bonus or a drawback depending on your privacy requirements.
